Cold Weather POTA, at Black River WMA, Chester, NJ In this video, your host takes his lunch break at a nearby POTA site, activating Black River WMA (NJ) from the front seat of his truck.
A QRP CW POTA activator with a bag full of sandwich bags, a man after my own heart. I go through more sandwich bags for QRP accessories than I do sandwiches. Great to see you posting again, Radiodog. Hope to work you one of these days from the west coast. 73 de N9OHW
Hi Tom! Found my old shortwave radio in the attic and discovered I still have a year left on my amateur license. Next thing you know there's a long wire in the backyard and I'm brushing up my morse code skills! Thanks for all your inspiration and guidance it's very helpful. I used to hit satellite repeaters from the backyard, but I think a nice quiet park will suit me- so POTA is the goal I'm working toward. Thank you!
Thanks for the comment! My license was about to expire last year, and I probably would've let it lapse had it not been for a friend who noticed. I figured, "well...I probably should hold on to the license, at least." That was right before I started getting into POTA. Since then, I've been more active that ever! So absolutely, brush up on those skills and get out there! 73, Tom N2XTO
You are a freaking nut for doing this on your lunch hour man! Got to love it. Love your channel. Keep up the good work and God bless.
My alternate title for this video: "Is this really fun?" Thanks for watching!
Happy New Year Tom!👍📻
