That’s why whenever I play I just push and don’t make a defense, I barely die when brainlessly pushing and when I actually need to I can just play smarter and not die. Whenever I waste time on a bed defense I usually lose it anyways because while I waste time on the defense, my opponents are already pushing me with tnt.

Personal take: End Stone forces your opponent to pack a pickaxe, glass nulls tnt, and wood forces axe usage or burn time. I played in the 4 team games though, so we DID usually have someone on bed at all times so there's that.

Well even if u are defending its best to have some defense like if they knock you to far back and u need to get back they can break beds almost instantly

Nothing wrong with being a try hard and that doesn't really have anything to do with the point I'm making here which is that the best defense strategy is not some combination of blocks but it's yourself
If you think the reason you can't defend your own bed is because the game is filled with tryhards then you need to change your mindset or play a different game

That's exactly what's wrong when you're on bed wars and you see someone doing something you deem to be 'tryhard' like you lose any hope of beating them
If you're playing bedwars casually then of course you can expect to lose but just because you're playing casually doesn't mean everyone else has to play casually so if you actually want to start winning game either practice some skills or make an ALT account where you get into lobbies with people who just started playing
If you want everyone to stoop down to your level of skill just because you're playing casual and so that you can win some games then that is why you need to change your mindset

You forgot about traps, such as miner fatigue. For example if some guy without tools comes at your base while you respawning miner fatigue will save you, if you have wooden defence. This is made so guys don’t instantly break your bed
Bed defences aren't supposed to stop rushes, but slow them down. The different between no defence and 1 layer of wood is often enough for retaliation

I think most people would use butterfly still, such as ranked bedwars players, as the bed defense cans be blown up from the top, also people usually know when. toditch their bed when they need to
