Viola Davis
Aibileen Clark, Mae Mobley
Nanny Aibileen Clack wants the baby, Mae Mobley, to keep in mind that she is kind, she is smart, she is important.
Aibileen is an African-American maid living in Jackson Mississippi. She cares for Elizabeth’s daughter, Mae Mobley, whom Elizabeth herself doesn`t treat well.

My favorite scene is when she says “You’re my real mama Abi” ❤❤❤
but it makes their last moment even more heartbreaking 😭😭😭
At least she was loved and taken care of for her first years. Except for the fact that the parents barely changed her diaper themselves 😠
@@larafranke1802 very true! 💔💔💔
Abi wasn’t her mama though 😡🤔
@@k101-c8y I think children mostly call people their mom and dads when they feel safe, taken care of and loved by them. Abi spends more time with the kids then their biological mother.
I often took care of the neighbours daughter and she often called me mum but then realised she wasn't with her actual mother. I felt honoured cause even though I am not related to her I was a parental figure for her. When she was spending more time with her dad and then did something with me she also called me daddy.
Children express themselves differently and I totally get why the girl said this to her nanny
@@larafranke1802 I already know this. I just think where was the little girls actual mother in all this. It’s nice that Abi was kind enough to go out of her way to take care of another woman’s child but I don’t like the thought of Abis children being neglected whilst she is showing care, love and devotion to another woman’s child. Which is all I see when I see this. It’s not like she was even appreciated at the end. All in all- it’s only a movie.
Similar story in *gone with the wind* as well.
And I don’t think some of the women at that time would have seen it as an *honour*. People who have children should be the ones taking care of their own children. I’m looking at it from Abis perspective not the little girls.
Everyone is always like how sweet this image is. Well I don’t think it’s sweet to leave your own child to take care of another woman’s child who didn’t even have the care or decency to allow you to use her toilet.
But it’s only a movie.
This is so important positive affirmations so a child can be resilient ❤😁😊
I would’ve love to see her all grown up saying this to herself because she never forget what AB did for her as a child and then have them reunite after all those years
Yes we need a part two !!
In my heart, she always did, because love knows no colour, only impact!
My grandmother still has the pictures of the two kids she raised
My daughter’s Pre-K teacher bent down with a mirror in the doorway when greeting each student every morning - and asked them to look at their reflection and repeat “I am kind, I am smart, I am important.” I cried the first time I watched this… We will never ever forget her. My daughter bawled her eyes out at the end of the school year, because she didn’t want to leave her classroom. She was the best teacher & left a lasting impression on every one of those children.
The baby is adorable
I love how the little girl develops a accent because of her ❤❤❤
I say this every day in the mirror to my self. I also say, " I love you ."

This is how black mothers should be with their own children.
This is how ALL mothers should be with their children….
This should be is time with mother and daughter.. not The Help..
The Help at this hour is rest in.. and fixed in is things that forget to fixed at morning.. as goes to work into kitchen and clean house..
Why she uses 'is' not 'are'?
She's black and from the south in the sixties. Often, young ladies of the African American race had to drop out of school to have jobs to help support their families. Being a maid or watching children for wealthy white families was one of the major jobs in Mississippi for them. The movie THE HELP is a good movie based on an equally fantastic book.
Blessings!!!
@@rogertaylor7433 I see, now i understand. Wow, this movie really put attention to detail. Thank you for explaining for me.
@@rogertaylor7433absolutely
Its part of AAVE, or African American Vernacular English. Its just a dialect of English, with its own rules.
Why did she use “you is” isntead of “you are”? As somene not using English language daily, this scene confuses me 🤔
In those days, lots of african american maids left school at a young age to work. Some were not highly educated . Although They were intelligent.
I don't get how these kids could've possibly grew into racists themselves as they were receiving all their love from black servants 😒 surely that must've changed something in them
❤
