    biochemTV I REALLY appreciate what You did here, in 15 minutes you solved a problem i had for the past 5 years of my life, since highschool when I first had to do a chemical balance and ALL the teachers taught me to do the other shitty and super long "trial and error" method .
    I hated this Whole part of Chemistry and always tought that there HAD to be a Better way to do this stuff, because I couldn't imagine a Biochemist doing huge reaction balances in that dumb way. And after 5 years, finally discovering this little pearl...gave me the power to go further in my Chemistry Class.
    ps- maybe it seems a little too much, but i just wanted to say that I truly Appreciate you, plus the video is super well done.
    Truly
    -your little chemist

    is it okay if we dont use 1 as a coefficient?

    • @namih4593
      @namih4593 4 года назад +1

      It's often acceptable to use multiples (eg; not using 1 as a coefficient, as long as the molar ratios between substances are kept the same) but it's advisable to put all coefficients as integer numbers in its simplest form.

    • @BiochemTv
      @BiochemTv  Год назад

      A=1 is arbitrary. Start by assigning any variable any number. Then you should be able to solve for the remaining variables. Simplify so that each species has the lowest possible whole number coefficient.

    why we take " a"=1

    • @BiochemTv
      @BiochemTv  7 лет назад +6

      It's just arbitrary to make the math a little easier. You can start by
      setting any variable to 1, then if you have any fractions at the end,
      you simply multiply all values by the least common denominator.

    • @BiochemTv
      @BiochemTv  3 года назад +2

      Hi Leon, after you set up the equations, start solving by letting D=1. Since the variable a only appears in the Pb equation, we have to start somewhere else.
