Thank you for this channel, I hope you put more contents on it! Would you be so kind to explain what's the difference between shorter (33mm) and longer (51mm) valves please? I mean, if someone is going to make his own custom air rifle there's no point in having two choices for the valve's lenght, right? I'm new to this world but I would like to learn more. Thank you!
Pull the valve pin backwards a bit, hanging the bottle and valve in their in the air by the pin could be enough to hold the air back, just pump with one arm
Depends on the barrel length caliber and hammer spring. I have seen someone build a 120 joule air rifle in 9mm I myself built one in 177 cal, and the hammer spring is super easy to change. With a weaker 19mm od 1.2mm wire diameter spring, which is super easy to load I got about 22-25 joule. Then with a 1.2mm wire dia 14mm od spring I got 31-35 joules, but that was a bit hard to load as the spring was in unbalanced. I will be changing to a 19mm od 1.5mm wire diameter spring, don't know how much power that will have but I think around 35-45 joule range is achievable with a spring like that.
Update: Now with the same weak 19mm od 1.2mm wire diameter spring im getting 35-40 joule. All I did was remove the valve spring and used a bit thinner seal (the white tiny rod that holds the valve' air). I'm very impressed at how much power such a weak spring can generate in 177cal. Can't wait to try the stronger spring, it would be insane for 177cal.

From my experience superwell was better, I think the machining is better with superwell and it's also more precise, Shanbao valve was meant for 32mm tube but it seems that a 30.8mm tube is what fits way better. at 2600 PSI the Superwell valve produced 32ftlbs using a 177 cal barrel 60cm long. Shanbao produced only 7 ftlbs using the same barrel and spring. So clearly it get's locked probably due to the valve POM rod having a completely flat surface against the valve housing and being 8mm thick when the Superwell one was 7mm (I decreased the pressure to around 1800-1500 PSI and then got higher results, so it's probably meant to be used with a regulator) Also later on I switched the POM pin of the shanbao valve to the superwell POM pin, and got the same results as the superwell valve
