Hawaii Shore Fishing: Moi Fishing

Historically, I have not been very successful when targeting Moi (Pacific Threadfin) but resilience has pushed me to try to target these illusive beach dwellers. Back in the day these fish were deemed the fish of royalty and if anyone not from the royal family were caught eating it would be severely punished.

Moi legal size is 11" fork length so you going know if its one good size one. You'd be able to tell. Black curly tails is what we usually use too since they hunt in the whitewater.

If you catch a big moi best steam fish if you catch the 11 to 12in size ones fried is bomb too
