Not going to lie I was a little bit shocked that nobody believe that was Beyoncé’s real hair. All the pics of her being a kid her hair was very long.

Shrinkage is real! Black women easily grow our hair, it’s that damn shrinkage. Our hair has to be like double the length of straight hair to look the same but it’s actually longer when stretched.

If you knew me for 15 years n 95% of the time I was in some type of hair something---hat, weave , wig, etc., would you not be surprised when you saw my real hair n it was long, thick n flowing? I think many, especially those of us who are not fans, were just genuinely shocked n surprised to see her real hair periodt. Many were shocked at the healthy n beauty of Cardi B bc she too kept up a lot of wig n weave use. Ppl demand authenticity today n many do not believe her hair product is the reason for her hair strength...we know it is due to over a decade, maybe two, of protective styles.
I think thats why its so important we show our hair instead of hiding it behind wigs and shit. Thats our CROWN.

I've cut my hair and regrown it numerous times. Most of the time when someone asks if my hair was real, it's a black woman. In high school they felt my scalp for tracks. I even had an aunt doubt my natural length. My mom stepped in to say she did my hair the night before and it was all mine. She was shook as doubters usually are. We can maintain length it just takes patience.

As a black woman I understand why ppl of other races don’t believe that black women can grow long hair. I’ve always had long hair and have never worn weave. Weave usually does more damage and is a sign of self hatred. Black women buy the MOST weave. We don’t need fake hair in order to grow our real hair. Weave is NOT a protective style. That’s an excuse black women use to justify wearing weaves/wigs. 🤷🏽♀️ fake hair, fake nails, makeup, fake lashes, etc is not necessary. Just my opinion.

Dam you went in 🫠🫠🫠 I’m so glad I’m a man(respectfully) cause the amount of money spent on beauty is crazy and you just put in all into perspective. One of my best friends does her nails every two weeks and usually spends $100+ and is a make up queen and the lashes and the this and the that….JESUS. All I have to worry about is a shape up at the barber shop every week.
I have always had long hair too. I use to feel the way you do about weaves and self hate. I would feel highly offended if someone asked me if all my hair is mine (Im brown with waist length hair). I still do sometimes because there are people of all races including black who believe our hair can’t grow.
However, as I’ve gotten older I’ve realized for some women weave, nails, lashes etc is art and a form of self expression. I do still believe every women should still feel comfortable and beautiful au naturale. Especially black women. But there’s nothing wrong with creating a look with weave as long as you embrace your natural side too and not using it as a shield.

Hatred comes from the inside, not the outside. So these women who can saying women wearing weaves, wigs, makeup, equals self-hatred need to look in the mirror . And really take the time to think about if the really hate themselves! Preference is one thing when it comes to looks for most women. Also we all have things that we don’t about ourselves and we could fix them . Will spend the money.
I for sure do not agree with anyone thinking if you wear weaves or wigs that’s self hate. We should all be free to change our look and express ourselves through hair differently and not be judged for it. All of this is very true, with respect to black women with beautiful long hair of their own. I am black & I have been growing my hair out for a very long time. My hair is currently almost to my butt & people stop me quite often to comment on it, mostly positively. Even with all of that being said, I have had a few people walk right up to me & ask me if my hair is a weave or extensions. I wish that more people understood that our beautiful black hair can come naturally in many styles & lengths. Thank you for making this video. ✌🏼💜

My sister's natural hair looks like Beyonce's. She's in her 50's with 2 black parents. She takes good care of her hair by going to the salon weekly. Her hairdresser started using some sort of CBD oil on her hair, and it started growing like crazy. There is a salon in LA where ALL of the black women have beautiful long hair. No weaves or wigs. I BELIEVE IT IS HER HAIR. STOP HATING. Money can do almost anything.

There are some blacks that have never gotten their hair past a certain length their entire life and most if not all black women they see have short shoulder length hair and the only time they've seen a black girl with long hair she was a Tatiana Ali or jhene Aiko type meaning a biracial mixed black girl with silky hair. So therefore in some black people's eyes they don’t think a black hair can grow long because they're not use to commonly seeing black girls with afro texture hair be longer han past their shoulders. So because Beyonce has a kinkier texture of hair there are some black people that assume that Beyonce's real long hair is fake, also because she did wear wigs and weaves for over a decade before she grew it to her waist. But Beyonce ain't never had no trouble growing a head of full long hair because even when you look at her childhood photos she had super thick long hair. Mama Tina was a ol school hair dresser so she knew how to keep her babies hair healthy and growing long.
But some black women are hating on her too because they likely have always had short hair and still haven't learned how to properly care for it and keep it healthy. I always knew that long hair was Beyonce real hair because I grew up seeing many women in my family with long healthy hair, myself included. Black women can grow pretty long healthy hair. All the hair videos here on RUclips and some still think black women can't grow long hair. Thats ridiculous. 😂😂

Yes, I do agree but there was a time black ppl, due to harsh perms/hot combs/excessive hair manipulation, experienced a lot of breakage n scalp damage, that fact contributed greatly to this notion about our hair not being able to grow.
With respect to Beyonce, based on her career, she has worn hair additions more than her real hair, then she recently developed hair products...this lead many to call foul bc most had no idea she had such long, thick hair, seemingly healthy hair. So, I dont think the pearl clutching outrage is warranted bc the public has mostly seen her in various wigs, weaves, pieces etc. If anyone's hair spent 90% of the time in a protective style they too would see exceptional growth and healthy hair, despite what products were being used. I do not think her hair strength is related to said product being she just launched, it is more related to protective styling...periodtt😳

We know Beyonce has or had long hair. I've seen pics and videos of her as a kid and it's very voluminous. But we know she's almost always wearing weaves so it's kind of hard to believe that one infamous photo was her hair when it looks like just like the weaves.

Caucasians and asiatics don’t have to do less manipulation and more care for their hair to grow but the vast majority of African Americans/Africans do and there isn’t anything wrong with that fact.

We are our own judgment. I always had long hair and then putting a perm in it damaged it so I cut it off and grew it naturally and it grew long again. Why are sistas so judgmental amongst each other? When I didn’t perm it, I was judged negatively until natural became an acceptable trend. I pray one day we learn to love and celebrate each other. No other culture is judged as much.

Few things about this. I wish people who weren't black women would either ask black women what they really felt and listened or give the mic to a black woman. No one believes her hair is short. Many artist do this for the look they want to achieve or to enhance the look. Another artist that did this as well is Aaliyah.
