- This video is not monetized, and all pieces used have been trimmed/edited/mixed. The piece was composed by Curtis Schweitzer (of 343 Industries circa 2020 for Halo Infinite). I doubt saying these things will stop potential copyright strikes, but it was worth a shot... :P
It seems we’ve come full circle on this one. Last year I made a rough extension of a teaser for this track (we didn’t even know the name at the time). Now here we are, a year after the game’s launch, to finally address the full track. Infinite's in-game soundtrack is a bit of a pain to work with, so to practice recording/using it, I decided to create a simple extension/mix using some of the loops and parts of the OST version. Ransom Keep is one of my favorite original tracks in the game (and it plays relatively early on in the open world), so I felt that this would be ideal for a test run. Once mission replay is added to the game, I'm hoping the recording process can be sped up a bit so I can work on some larger projects.
Not much to say layout-wise. I was trying to arrange the loops in such a way that the track buildup can repeat without being the exact same. Sometimes the OST version made more sense as it has smoother transitions between sections.
Enjoy! :)

After the update, I will be replaying that first hunter encounter a few times for no particular reason :P

What's happening to that encounter after the update?
@@smolboi9659 Nothing’s changing about it. It’s just where a certain track plays fully that I want to record (and redoing missions/checkpoints are annoying currently)
@@josh11735 OIC, the in game version of know my legend. Is there a difference between the version in the hunter encounter and the banished unsc training site?
@@smolboi9659 You mean in the House of Reckoning?
@@josh11735 yea
Love it! Glad you expanded on the Mini "ODST-Like" song.
It was inevitable! :P
I can confirm that the in-game soundtrack is a pain to work with for trying my hand at in-game records. Really nice work with this extension, keep it clean and good!
O_-
Thanks for all the work you do to let us enjoy Halo's music even more. Bookmarked your SoundCloud account.
I love your Halo mixes.
The minimalist beat from the first minute reminds me of the opening suite from H3 Sierra 117 right after the Brute's growl can be heard. Love how it transitions into the trip-hop vibes of Halo 4 before settling into Infinite's signature sound. Would you be open to a request/commission for a mix of Slipspace Rupture from Halo 2 and the Cartographer Choir from Halo 3?
Infinite’s percussion makes a lot of these tracks work for me! :)
As for the suggestion, I could give it a look. Not sure how they’d sound if overlapped. (Funnily enough I spotted you in the comments when I went to double check Slipspace Rupture, lol.)
@@josh11735 People sleep on Slipspace Rupture because it only plays briefly during the cutscene. But it's so emblematic of the enormity and alien nature of High Charity.
Hey man, as an update to your suggestion, I did get around to messing with it. If you’re curious, here’s the result of an overlap test I did with the tracks: ruclips.net/video/WxK_QeGMUlU/видео.html
@@josh11735 I am absolutely blown away because this exceeds my expectations by far. It is definitely what I'd like to be playing in the background when I'm playing Epitaph/Construct or dare play H2 and get Gemini. Love how the track feels like it's about to end when the organ pitches halfway only for the harps to kick in and give it a second wind. Thanks a bunch!
For a test, this flew pretty good.
117 likes when I was watching this. Hesitating to add 1 more. Btw love your mixes
Holy shot this is amazing
Man Halo Infinite had such a banging soundtrack! The three composers really knocked it out of the park.
I love this track
you took the best parts of ransom keep and repeated them. its actually better than the original ransom keep
The king is back
i love it
Great job Josh
It is impressive but your mixes change the song but at the same time they are very faithful, the changes complement each other very well, I hope that more people will arrive in the not too distant future, your remixes are gold believe it or not, they are... :D
Eeek! A new josh11735 video!
Bro where did u find this?? It wasn’t even on Spotify this soundtrack
I recorded the extra bits from the campaign and stitched them together with the soundtrack.
Hello!
Goodbye!
*Oh*
first
Your halo music is better than Jaffet !
You do know that josh is just mixing the soundtrack loops and not actually composing those musics, right?
