Great show guys ! Thanks for redoing it lol Dumb Football question : A lot of emphasis has been put on this show that the oline group does not like to blame individuals or throw guys under the bus but how does the oline group deal with guys who objectively play bad, for example: missing stunts, whiffing blocks, getting outpowered repeatedly, etc…
"that is so aggressive for 6am" lmao.. I'm turning 35. My grandparents saw 4 failed super bowls. I've seen 2.. 3? Failed runs that made the nfc championship. I don't even know what i would do if we WENT to the bowl.
Always love when you guys talk what's actually happening in the trenches. Dumb football question along the same lines, you've talked in the past about setting pass protections at the line with things like "Rocko" meaning sliding right. Do you actually use basic codes like "Rocko" audibly in front of the Defense (and same with snap being on "Monday")? and if so doesn't it give them an advantage knowing where you're sliding?
Dumb Football Question I was a short-yardage fullback in high school, that's the extent of my knowledge and experience. I was just a big, short, bowling ball who could execute basic physics, nothing more. Never really learned that much about what O-line guys do, but I've always known they had to know SO much more than me. But I have always known O-linemen are literally the key to a successful offense, and I would LOVE to be able to coach that at the high school level. What's the best way to learn what I need to know?
Mackey has been saying the 49ers missed on Lance but their window is still open. They did find Purdy but they never replaced all those traded picks for Lance and CMC...and those picks would have been ready to step in now.
?? DFQ--Alex got me to wnderin'--Just how big an advantage is securing all coaches' contracts for a team?...Especially for a team like the Chiefs (Joe Cullen, Spags/Dave Merritt, Andy Heck, etc.) who only get re-supplied with late - in- the -round draft talent every year? Sorry for TLDR but Alex's point makes me think these men are being rewarded for being the guy players trust. You make me think that's bigger than most people realize. Bottom line here: Andy Reid might just have have assembled the best staff to steer such a roster less like a ship and more like precision laser-guided hypersonic missle. They're going to be fun to watch. That was insight that hadn't occurred to me.
An LLC just creates a blanket of protection so that you can't get sued for more money than exists in the LLC. It's just a cap on liability. In court, if you can prove that the LLC is being used as a blanket for a personal finances, the protection is invalid and you can still get sued. This would mostly apply to things like using the LLC for personal expenses like eating out, paying mortgage, etc. Athletes do not have very much liability, and so there is not much purpose in them having an LLC. The only realistic scenario I can think of is if Caleb violated his contract or was cut, and the team wanted some money back. He could pay himself as an employee of the LLC and claim that the money was protected. This is probably what teams are worried about. Both the tax argument and the "can't pay a business" argument are probably just excuses that mask the real issue.
If you want to follow the cursed narrative, consider that the Vikings were first offered a franchise by Lamar Hunt and agreed to join the AFL (now AFC), but later backed out of that agreement and joined the NFL (now NFC). So maybe the curse is just what happens when you go back on your word???
With this new generation of players trading jerseys on field, how much merch have you kept from your playing days and/or have you traded with other players?
Gotta agree on the Vikings being a cursed team. As a Broncos fan, I KNOW they were the best team in the NFC, probably the NFL, when they lost to Atlanta in the conference championship. We literally only beat them in the regular season by a total fluke play where Eddie Mac caught a TD from a pass bounced off a DB's helmet. And the Vikings have had SO many great teams. Just, so freakin' many. Tarkenton? Favre (even in his later years, we won a SB with a geriatric Peyton)? Cunningham? Seriously. I actually feel for Vikings fans, truly I do. Hang in there though. I'm a Nuggets guy, so I know sometimes you have to get screwed for a really long time before you get yours. Just saying.
A surgeon who operates can be an LLC. Legally, a person who performs a task can be be contracted as an LLC. Physicians who consult for law firms are paid as LLC’s. Seems like NFL won’t, not that it can’t.
I am an llc, sole proprietorship, it insulated me from liability and changes my income from active to passive, no reason not to let him sign as the president. The terms of the contract apply to the llc which is the individual. Jmo.
Love the amateur lawyering being attempted here. The first answer to your question will be found in labor law. An LLC cannot be a member of the players Union. If you all want to operate as independent contractors doing business as LLCs, you won’t be able to bargain collectively.
Not sure about Jeremiah’s take on the LLC. Not 100% sure about US tax law, is anyone, but lots of sole traders contract via a company structure. The company bears all responsibility for contract obligations, and the owner of the company, the individual, in turn bears responsibility.

Dumb Football Question: How plausible is it that when a player tests positive for PEDs, they had no idea how it got into their system (ie. Aubry from the Texans).
I fail to understand how Rodgers, a 20 year veteran, missing 2 mini-camp practices is such a horrible offense yet a QB, with minimal starting experience, refusing to practice at training camp is perfectly acceptable.
Probably because he is Aaron Rodgers who says all of these 'no more bs' things and doesn't do what he says by skipping class whom he is the teacher and is no longer a student of the game but a teacher and a leader
It's because of who he is and what his status and experience mean to younger players. They see him yelling about "no more bs" this "we all gotta be here and on the same page" that, and then effs off and skips mini camp? Great example to set there dumbass.
@@KingKong-nf9nl He's the teacher??? So what exactly are all of those coaches supposed to be doing out there? It doesn't appear to have been an issue with any of his teammates so why would anyone who isn't on that team question his leadership when the people he's leading don't?
Based on how much Alex bounces his legs around when hes sitting. Tells me he probably got yelled at a lot in school for being fidgety and not wanting to sut still.
My thing about the qbs- is none of them beside Patrick mahomes really deserve the money they be asking for. Tua just signed a mega deal, is he worth it? Fuck no. And going off Alex’s point about “someone else will pay” okay let them over spend on a slightly above average-mediocre qb and watch their careers and franchise take a shit bc he wasn’t worth it the first place. Boone, Sirles, I love you guys, but you are not attorneys. An LLC is an artificial entity, it is legally a person. There is a legal distinction separating an LLC and its members. even if it is a single member LLC.
J Love vs Dak - we’ve already seen why you have to pay Love. Dak is mediocre in big games and always has been, and the playoff game was exhibit A. 2 bad picks in the first half leading to a pick 6 and a 4-play td drive and game over at half. That’s Dak.
I don't know a lot about football, but this show is about O-line. I was wondering what you guys think about the philosophy that the O-line coach of the Niners stated about lower round draft choices being all they need and concentrate on So-called skill players in the prime drafts. They picked a WR in the draft first round, I thought that could have been a mistake.
How so? If that was Kirk Cousins instead of Brock Purdy they'd be 86 million over the cap, wouldn't have been able to resign Bosa, and would have been lucky to make the playoffs, let alone make it to OT in the superbowl.
Exactly, there is no secret formula to winning a SB otherwise every team would follow it. Mobile QBs, cheap QBs, building from the trenches are all just random ideas with some successful examples and many failed ones. All a GM can do is build the best roster - players and coaches - that he can with the resources he has, and hope for an injury free season, a favourable draw, lucky bounces, suitable weather, and to be on the right side of any marginal officiating - and that's probably leaving plenty of other factors out. Pretending anything otherwise is just an oversimplification
Please find me where Mackey said he thinks Kirk sucks 😂 he has always said he is a good quarterback, just not a top 5 quarterback. And paying him as a top 5 quarterback, when he isn’t will handicap your roster. There is a difference between thinking that and thinking a guy sucks

The in-person clip really highlights the size of NFL OLinemen compared to normal dudes.
Look at them on the field compared to almost every tight end that is 6'5" 250 and you can tell a lot
Just a brief reminder of how large they really are.
bruh. this is tragic. thank you for putting in the extra work guys...
Well said, thank you indeed!

Consistent excellence. That’s what I’ve grown accustomed to from y’all and I haven’t been disappointed yet. Great stuff men!
oh nooooo! thx for pushing through guys
That's why drafting well is so important because you need to be able to replace the players you can't afford to sign because of the salary cap.
AMAZING that it took 40+min to get the first 🛎️ but Mackey should’ve gotten a Fumble Bell at the beginning for The 48second Podcast That Wasn’t 🤣👊

Hire Jomboy to lip read the entire lost podcast
This needs to be a thing.
Bad lip reading
Same reason why any other person working for a company cannot get paid as an LLC
I think I read somewhere as a LLC it would reduce his tax burden right now as well, so he wouldn’t have to pay as much in taxes until down the road.
