I believe it was Ilona who told me about the little visual Easter egg in this one. When Geoff sings Mother tell you children.. the fat candle next to the telly lights up. It might be a show off, but I really like his version.
Subharmonic Geoff Castellucci (VoicePlay), Basso Profundo Avi Kaplan (solo/Pentatonix), and Basement Level Tim Foust (Home Free) are the bass trio of epic proportions, with all three having blown out speaker systems when performing and touring live.
Funny thing is, though, Geoff has the deepest chest voice of all three. Avi is only a basso because of his volume and presence around C2 into the mid 2nd octave. It's a misnomer that basso profundos are the deepest... no, they are the loudest at C2 to about C3. Avi has that classic basso edge to his voice, where he can also sing baritone-type leads, but only louder and with more grit.
This is the one where I say he's just showing off. He hits those basement notes 6 times in this one, usually it's just two or three times. He started doing solo work during the pandemic, when Voiceplay could no longer tour. He has just gotten better and better in his productions. Geoff and Voiceplay do not block reactors, you should be able to use this screen shots without distortion. I am enjoying following you on this journey!
