  • So you may find yourself like me in a sticky situation where you have either miss-placed your exhaust cut out valve remote or the battery has gone flat, leaving no way to close your exhaust valves !
    Searching on RUclips and the net I did not find much, so thought I would do a help video for others. So if you have the aftermarket exhaust cut out by-pass valves on your lovely car and need to close the butterfly valve but do not have the remote, I show what to do in an emergency by 'hot-wiring' the cables going to the motor, (so long as you can access them which in most installations is within the trunk or boot area.
    Any questions let me know, I love to get thumbs up and new subscribes as trying very hard to get to 1000 so thanks a million!

    Hi,
    Great video.
    I got one of these and wired it up with a 20a fuse piggy back off my cigarette lighter. Soon as I switched on the ignition the 20a fuse blew. Any ideas? Thanks!

      So your valve cut out uses the 12v + and - of the cigarette lighter? That should be fine, 20A is more than enough. Check you haven't inadvertently shorted the connection. If you plug the wires the other way, all that should happen is the motor reverses. Perhaps try a different power supply, straight form battery?

      Easy, just mount the remote control on your dash, it will work inside your car perfectly! You can also buy another remote and programme it so you have a spare on your key ring👍

      Well I've not had any issues with mot for years, remember alot of cars have the valves fitted as standard, the only difference is the valve opens with a vacuum.

      The remote for the by-pass? if you had one to copy the yes you can, but without it, I would see if you can contact the supplier, there must be a code somewhere on the receiver? Good luck!

    Hi, I have a question; I’m looking at getting one of these valves. If you were to leave your wires on, does the motor keep trying to close and ultimately burn out or does the valve/ motor have a cutout?
    I had an experience with a valve that decided to close up partially on a trackday and kill power. I’m looking to get a valve and hard wire a switch in.
    Thankyou.

      Hi there, good question, no the motor will stop once it either closes or opens and does not continue to run. The type I bought is like this link,
      www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Electric-Exhaust-Downpipe-Cutout-E-CUT-Valve-System-Remote-Electric-kit-2-25-/224683881172?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l6249&mkrid=710-127635-2958-0
      I have two as my exhaust is a twin pipe, but seriously loud so I just use one. I have the remote mounted on dash and works perfect. I have done an install video that may help you...

    Hi,
    I don't suppose you have a copy of the user manual for this kit?
    I've got a system which had a flat battery and I'm trying to pair it with the controller again.
    Thanks

    • @GrooveOn
      @GrooveOn  2 года назад

      I'm afraid not, but once you've fitted the valves, the electrical connection is just two wires to + and - supply from control box, the valves then plug in to the control box with supplied cable, simple.

    • @BAMattack
      @BAMattack 2 года назад

      @@GrooveOn thanks for the quick response.
      The valves work when applying power via a power probe.
      The key fob had a flat battery when I got the system. Now with a new battery, it doesn't seem to do anything, so I was wondering if there are pairing instructions between the fob and controller box.
      Thanks

    • @GrooveOn
      @GrooveOn  2 года назад

      @@BAMattack Oh I see. What may have happened is that you have lost the coding from the key fob to the control box, this is set by the supplier and is different for each valve. I made sure that I bought another learning keyfob and programmed it as a spare. What I wold suggest is contact the supplier you bought it from and tell them the fob coding has stopped working.

      @@GrooveOn thanks.
      Unfortunately it was a second hand system, already fitted to a whole exhaust system that I bought from a breaker.
      I think I'll looking into wiring up a momentary switch.
      Cheers

    • @GrooveOn

      @@BAMattack yeah a switch would be easier for you, or if you look at the control box and search for one you maybe able to get a new one with keyfob perhaps with no valve?
