It's ok that you made a mistake with the previous apartment. You've learned from it and that's what mistakes are for.

lighting is SO IMPORTANT!!!! Will be an essential the next time I move because the last 3 places i've lived have not had much sunlight and it really affects you so much. I also do everything myself and have no shame about it. Just the way i operate lol. Diying everything/finding storage and decor all on my own and hanging wall decor myself, etc.

If u don’t know where to go next, u should visit Finland! Northern Finland is very beautiful in winter but cold, so maybe visit the southern parts first when it’s summer! Finland is surprisingly similiar to Japan, even tho it’s a nordic country🌸
Not gonna lie, the place you moved from was a really cool modern vibe. Loved the exposed concrete and modern high end kitchen look. I understand that it was dark and moody, but honestly I feel way more cozy in a place like that, but im kinda a vampire so thats probably why. This new place is way more in line with a traditional Japanese living space. Reminds me a lot of your other place in the country. But I am kinda sad to see you leave the Shibuya place, I personally loved that style.

A solution for Your problems with the beautiful sandal loafers might be this: Look for some adhesive foam padding to soften the edge of the leather where it hurts. Stick it on the inside about 2mm away from the edge, thus it will be invisible. Good luck with this!
I will second this. But will suggest instead of foam, they specifically make cushions for the heel that would be perfect for this very purpose. It will add cushion and will stop your foot from sliding out if you put the cushion on the underside of the top.
I’m not an expert in shoe repairs, but I think these suggestions are good. Otherwise, you could always consider visiting a shoemaker and asking them for advice. It’s often so much cheaper than buying new shoes, especially if your favorite pair is uncomfortable or worn out. Shoemaker are magicians when it comes to repairing and restoring shoes. I’m pretty sure there are some skilled craftspeople in Japan, so don’t give up on your shoes just yet.
