I was having a real shit day today and was feeling bummed so I smoked a bowl and watched this video and I gotta say, shit made a world of difference. The music was dope, detailed as fuck and quality video recording/editing. I am feeling way better now and this video was a big part of it. Thx southern hooning
RE the buckets & shims, or any assemblies that need to be reinstalled in a specific order: ziploc freezer bags, with *detailed* descriptive tags written in PEN placed inside with the *individual* location-specific assemblies can really be your friend. Also great for keeping track of which sets of fasteners go where & with which parts. Plus, no lost or unaccounted for fasteners.
This video is giving you a new sub! My 240 has been sitting for years I do not declare to admit to. A buddy from work came over to help diagnose that I in fact blown my head gasket. I can take shit off and put it back on. But not this (blindly that is), your video is gonna help so much! Taking notes as I’m watching. Thanks so much bubba!
Good stuff bro! I havent had to take apart my engine yet thankfully, but i know I will eventually and this was a quality walkthrough. Youve gotten quick at it! Keep it up
Just a heads up last time I dumped coolant like that someone called the epa on me 😂 I would probably use a drain pan buddy just so u don't have to pay 900$ for no reason at all
I WANT to buy a 240 and it’s a grand with a blown head gasket. Watching this video definitely gave me a little satisfaction that it’s. It to hard to do but it’s still a process. Debating whether I should get it now
Great video. I recommend loosening the cams in the order you did but only in small increments. Buy having the cam only held down by one cap it stresses the camshaft and could fatigue it. Just my .02
Great video! Might be needing to do the same work. my ka24de-t is only running on 3 cyl. the 3rd cyl has 0 comp and is getting fuel and spark. I'm hoping on it being a stuck/bent/cracked valve but I guess ill find out. keep up the awesome work on yours!
Quick question, when going to get the head resurfaced. Should you take out the bucket and shims and just make sure they go back in the same spot? Or is it more in depth than that?
hell yea much love back, im currently working on a m20 bmw turbo and honestly your videos inspire me to keep working on it when i get frustrated and want to give up. glad it was just a head gasket i just had the same problem but it was actually my valves rip, cant wait to see your next video. sad that your channel is not as popular as haggard or ricer, you put out way better quality videos
i think your problem was separating the gasket layers, i got my kat runin 18psi on a gt35 and still no problem on my cometic gasket but good luck with your project bro greetings from Mexico

oh shitttt truuuu, thanks for the look out!
Jesse Green there's a reason lol. If there are pets around and they drink it (cuz they are stupid lol) they will die. coolant tastes sweet that's why.
I always keep my old coolant and oil jugs to poor used oil and coolant into. Windshield washer fluid bottles that are empty work great too.
5 gallon buckets at Home Depot, with lids, city dump takes it for free, the issue is it gets into the ground - Water.
Dope video and dope music, sounds like Nujubes. But I'm gonna have to watch this 50x before I can do it myself 🤣

set your timing tdc before taking the distributor out
Don't use a screwdriver like he did guys. You can gouge the surface and make it not seal at all.
Really good for newbies.
lkzidd2 indeed!

Cody Pearson nah that should be fine, take them out and make sure they go back to there same spot
Southern Hooning thanks man I really appreciate the reply especially that fast
Cody Pearson i try! Lol
That the same gasket you pulled apart to copper spray?
It’s easier to just remove the intake runners from the plenum and pull them with the head.
love your videos man
KidTopFlight much love bro!

Hey man what size torx gets the head studs out? Doing this atm 😂
What kind of paint you use on your valve cover. Swinging to do mine while I have the head off so it’s not that ugly tan
The head bolts, where they like hex keys or were they normal bolts. mine had hex keys. I'm curious.
BradSpazz i have studs, head bolts are hex but the studs u need a 12 point socket
