the fact that she actually got EVEN BETTER at the high note which she did 10 YEARS AGO and fixed her technique that haters so love to bark about just shows how amazing of a vocalist she is. Mad respect.

You see many artistes out there after many years they are no longer able to hit the notes in their previous hits. But AFTER 10 YEARS IU still hits all the high notes flawlessly. What a legend.
Yea, she stopped singing in falsetto the entire song, and also fixed a bit of her technique. It's amazing 10 years later

IU is a masterclass of her own. She is way way up there among the best of the best singers in Korea.

I was kinda worried while watching her sing this song again 'cause yeah...they said it might damage her voice but seeing her hit that high notes again made me feel relieved. She's still the best and forever will be.

Yes she's known for her crow voice which is like a mix of head and chest voice but more on the head. Belting those notes is risky because she may crack live but won't necessarily damage her voice unless she overuses it because her throat/vocal chords have already adapted to her type of voice. Every singer experiences voice strain but we try to minimize using different/personal techniques and knowing she's a professional singer, she knows what to do and not to do. But hearing those high notes again is satisfying hahaha.
Sometimes i forgot that she's one of most talented singer. Because i just always remember that she's an Angel 🤦🏻♀️

I heard IU doesn't usually hit her 3 octaves for Good Day because of the possible damage but she did it for her anniversary 😭😭😭

Yeah, when she blinks, it looks like she can fall asleep. She moves a bit relaxed too, but her vocals are still good.

@icyrene no they are not. Those three high notes are a whopping whole step apart from start to finish. An octave is made up of 6 whole steps. Three octaves would be a distance 18 times greater than what is actually written, not to mention physically impossible for someone to start at one of their highest notes and basically double their entire range.
From what i have heard, it was her doctor's advice to not sing them because there was a risk she could damage her vocal cords but either way, she slays

It's just 3 semitones. E5-F5-F#5. If it was a 3 Octave, then she has to do whistle tones

After almost 3 years I've been listening to this HINO, I swear, I'm very addicted to this song, it can't get out of my head bro, it's impregnated with a vibe that only God can explain
woah...this is her last song on the songlist yet she still slayed it and to think that they recorded this whole 12th anniversary special for 14 hours long!!!..she actually said that her voice stop coming out 1 hour before the filming ended so she felt apologetic to the staffs but look at her with that highnote!!!...and the fact that she chose to celebrate her anniversary by holding a concert for free despite the fans suggesting online concert is admirable!
