As we all know, Concorde was only ever purchased by British Airways and Air France. But many other airlines had an interest in the project, and 18 carriers placed options for the supersonic jet. Qantas was amongst these, with options for four jets. But things changed, and Qantas never took delivery.

hi
Hey
How did you-
?
One day ago?????????
I never flew the Concorde and only saw one once. I was on a South African Airline 747 and as we taxied by it and I was shocked at how small that plane really was. I had imagined a much larger aircraft.
David Oldham, Concorde held 100 passengers.
@@girikchokhani2449 Just like a little Focker F100 or B717
Zak Jansen rude!!!
It's the small windows
They could have called it the Qancorde😂
Haha
lmao 😂
😂😂😂
That’s clever!
The vast majority of the Sydney - London route was over land where you had to go subsonic with even a smaller range as Concorde was built for efficient supersonic flight.
I don't think you can call it a single flight if you must stop to refuel five times
holy shit am I hype for that game, I've been waiting for something like this to release for YEARS. Finally i wont have to play air tycoon online anymore
Airlines manager tycoon is free as well
Concorde could've helped in project sunrise but this is a nice video
Not sure about the maximum range of the Concorde would be sufficient for project sunrise
No, rather the opposite. The Concorde is notorious for its limited range, which was also mentioned in the video.
Lack of range and crazy expensive to operate witch results in very expensive tickets....
Higly doubt you could utilise its full potential.
Remember no sonic boom over land
One factor which may have been in play to cause the eventual lack of interest by the airlines was that Concord depended on the architecture of the market for air travel remaining unchanged: an expensive form of travel which was the preserve of the rich and well-heeled. To these people, supersonic speed reducing times from Sydney to London might have mattered. But as the size and capacity of aircraft and hugely more fuel-efficient engines drove down costs and made air travel cheap and affordable for everyone, Concord became an also-ran.
Great video. Thanks for sharing!

Very very informative video .Loved it ❤️❤️❤️

@@SimpleFlyingNews no probs!
Can you imagine if they had that plane on ANZ Vancouver to Auckland, or; Qantas' LA to Sydney route?? I spent 14 hrs. on a 777, Vcr to Auckland, once in coach and the second time in business and believe me being able to lay-down after a few hours on a plane is a Godsend!!! I see why they have crew quarters.
No concordes were actually sold - they were essentially given to the two national carriers.
What could have been: Sydney-Fiji-Honolulu-LA
Does Fiji have the runways for Concorde?
@@heathbauerle2787 Whoops, you're right. Nadi Airport's longest runway maxes out at 3200m. But there would be space at either end to extend it to the 3600 m needed
And also, in the 1970s extending a runway would be a small price for Fiji to pay for supersonic service between Fiji and Australia and the USA
@@HamTransitHistory I agree.
I didn't make sense for Qantas. The Concorde was only ideal for Transatlantic flights.
96.7 K wow Congo
NO, fuel prices was big problem for Concord between NYC and London or Paris.
Interesting. I'd forgotten the Concorde's range limitations. Qantas for many years made its money flying Syndey-LA, which would have been quicker if they could do it at supersonic speeds - and would be largely over ocean, so no noise restrictions. But without that range, I can see how they went with the 747 instead.
I like the music track, where can I find it?
Concorde’s range was over 4,000 miles in the end British Airways did some major improvements over the years lighter cabins and operating technics increase the range to additional 200 miles
Hey, simple flying! I have another question. If Delta Airlines is very satisfied with the Airbus A350-900, then why doesn't Delta order the A350-1000?
Delta just said they are interested in the a350-1000
Bluebird Airlines....... Gunna be our most favourite airline in the SG/MY region :)
Make a video on Air India's order of 2 Concordes
Can you explain the Concorde I saw in Singapore painted in Singapore Airlines livery?
This was a British Airways aircraft at all times, and they did a flight share arrangement with Singapore Airlines. Promoted as a premium product.
simpleflying.com/singapore-airlines-concorde-fate/ - TB
@@malcolmduncan3047 and yet one side of it was painted in Singapore Airlines livery.
@@SimpleFlyingNews thanks for the answer to what happened to the service and the plane. It's a shame that Concorde never flew more than once to Sydney. I saw it fly over the northern suburbs on its way to Kingsford Smith and honestly it was the loudest thing I'd ever heard up to that point. People somewhere on the flightpath over Australia claimed that the boom had broken windows, and the media worked people into a frenzy over the noise. Ironically I saw an Air France concorde fly over Paris in 1982 and I could hardly hear it. I think the aircraft flown to Sydney didn't have the production engines, and that was a mistake. A beautiful aircraft that deserved a better fate. The Singapore leg may have been doomed by not connecting to Sydney.
Idea: the story of el al boeing 2707 order(it was suppose to be very good to el al because they needed plane that can fly non stop to New York and most of the way was already above the ocean)
R.I.P. Qantas 747
That game is cool how to load it
Qantas might have been able to refuel at Darwin, with out sonic boom issues, and continue on to Singapore or Jakarta, refuel and go into Manila, Taipei and Tokyo. But, the costs of even a minimal service would have rendered this service uneconomical. The ecological problem is a factor, too. The problems were basically insurmountable.
Careful with the embedded intrusive ads embedded within the video (RUclips ads are fine as I know you need to monetise your videos). As that's the reason why I've stopped reading your website - too many ads within the articles to the point where most of the pictures in the article were ads that broke the flow of reading your articles, which are wonderfully articulated. So, I'm not saying go ad free, but be conscious as to not go down the path of your website.

Well if NY and UK passeners struggled to see it as affordable going that far from a country of 20M hmm a disaster avoided.
3:15 lol what's that
4 aircraft was never enough, 8 - 10 would have been better and rather flying to Europe, the west coast of the US would have been a game changer.

hi
The Airline Project is a knock off of Airline Manager 4 on facebook. #sad
Damn.....why does it have to be 18 bucks😒
Qantas makes sense to operate supersonic jet for Long Haul such as Melbourne - Singapore , Melbourne - NYC , Melbourne - London , Melbourne - Barcelona , Melbourne - Paris , Melbourne - San Francisco , Melbourne - Milan , Melbourne - Rome , Melbourne - Frankfurt , Melbourne - Doha , Melbourne - Abu Dhabi , Melbourne - Dubai , Melbourne - Bandar Seri Begawan , Melbourne - Tokyo , Melbourne - Seoul , Melbourne - Rotterdam 😁
It would have been fantastic if Qantas had purchased Concord, but would have been the greatest waste of money ever
Hi
HI
You dropped out Singapore Airline. They also operate Concord for a short period of time.
and Braniff in America for a year
I am the one
FIRST IRAN AIR THEN THIS...
Ir would've made huge impact on other airlines 3 times a week to london and what about other part the world like America German France see it would've been ok but the 747 -400 And A340-600 777x and other air buses are useless peopke get from place to other faster business would've gone down
No.

Just too damn noisy.
NOT Concordes Qantas Off 👎
Who will be the first airline to retire the 737 Max 8 let me know in the replies no problem with leaving a like
Well it depends where the first max ended up
@@GalaxyTeamCaptainAkari true
@@annndukumutua833 Now i researched and the first max 8 got delivered to Malindo Air on 2017.
The aircraft's registration is 9M-LRC.
probably its retirement is 2035-2038
Anybody that has flown the Sydney to Heathrow regularly knows this would have been a success with limited flights complemented by regular 747 flights. Range and environmental concerns for the most woke airline in the world killed this. Its acronym 'Q'ueers 'AN'd 'T'ransvitites 'A'ir 'S'ervice is for good reason.
