- This video at 4:08 has awesome views of the city of Sydney. You will see Downtown Sydney including the Sydney Tower, the Harbor Bridge, and Sydney Opera House. This is a United Airlines Boeing 747-400 Take-Off from Sydney International Airport heading to Los Angeles.
I born and live in Australia. Best advice - everything bites in Australia. Great Video
One of the best natural harbours there is.
I used to live here. I miss it so much! I can recognize so many places, each having specific memories for me.
Greatest city in the world. I'm a local, so I may be biased.
I hope you enjoyed your stay! Come back anytime.
Worst city
@@andrewalpha7954 feel free to leave then.
@@tristanbooker why would i? Free welfare for me
@@andrewalpha7954 sounds like Melbourne would be more your style then!
Thanks for visiting Australia, hope to see you again soon!
You won't find a more scenic takeoff than that!
Excellent video and stunning view of Sydney skyline!
Aviatorspot Thanks man!
Excellent Opera house and Harbour Bridge view! Thanks man!
Good old UA. The 747 is no more to Australia now the 777-200 are operating this run. The fleet of 747-400 are 23 years old so ready for retirement. Pit they havent built new ones for the trans pacific. The 777 feels cramped on the long hauls.
Love the footage great views over city and south along the coast. Done this flight many a time to LA or SFO . Cheers
Now its the 787-9 xD
Great video, awesome scenery, thanks for sharing! !!!
Thanks for the comment!
very nice vedio .took awesome view bro.
all u sydney fans must b gud to win the origin last nite 8yrs been awhile coming for that congrat to u and Laurie Daley. Gr8 plyr for Canberra and his buddy Mal..
Actually it was good to see the Rabbitohs win the Grand Final last night. Crow (Russel) was wrapped that he had made a good investment rather than in hollywood.
Thanks man. It was nice we got to fly over the city.
Absolutely awesome United 747 Sydney take off sequence....done this a few times with United.
Nice man. Thanks for the comment and letting me know. I appreciate it. Thanks.
It was beautiful!
Wonderful video with scenic views and a little humor when at 3:11 she says ".....the damn wing." A real joy to watch a great video with friendly banter included. Well done !
Thanks for the comment!
Lol! Yep......be screwed without that wing!!
Nice video, hope you enjoyed aussie land.
Next April they are replacing the 747 with the 777 for the Australia routes. Some of the 747s will go to Chicago to take over the Chicago-Narita and Chicago-Shanghai routes.
Thats cool man. Thanks for pointing that out.
Excellent video.
Thanks!

Great view over Sydney and the pacific ocean! A bit of turbalance though!
Fabulous.
The aircraft flew right over Manly beach at the point where it left the coastline......approx 6:30.
AUmarcus yeah I was bummed that we didn’t get to see even Little Manly.
Definitely no alligators or crocs in Botany Bay!! However as a kid, we did haul a big shark in the bay...
Boy! - did YOU sit on the wrong side! Ya missed out on a spectular view of North Ryde Golf Club.
(Betcha don't make THAT mistake again!)
I hope you enjoyed your stay in Australia. Sydney is quite beautiful and from a height (as in a plane) it is spectacular on a clear day. I enjoyed your pre-takeoff banter. We don't have crocs or box jelly fish in Sydney but heaps of sharks (but they are almost always harmless). We do have funnel-web spiders though but I doubt very much they would bother you :-)
Almost harmless? You mean the harmless Great Whites and the Harmless Bullsharks?
Awesome! What camera did you use?
Thats a good camera. I like how you can zoom and still get a close up shot of Anzac Bridge and Sydney Opera House about a minute into the flight still. How many pixels is the camera?
Thanks for the comment man! It is 12 mega pixels.
The weather was beautiful when I was there. I purposely went in the winter to get a break from the oppressive Texas heat.
✈ Jetsetter ✈ winter is when Sydney is at its best in my opinion. The summers in Sydney are worse than New York. But the summer heat could be broken by dramatic thunderstorms of biblical proportions. But it’s been very dry for years.
Had a rough landing in Sydney last night at 11:00 with Fiji Airways
I don't know but I feel excited when a flight take off and feel worried when it lands
This 747 is in the old 2004-2012 livery. The new United livery is the one adopted from Continental but with UNITED titles.
wait is this 747 updated to the new logo because the winglet has the feel of pre continental on it
Nice video *Note for others, mute the audio.*
Not a bad weather at all considering the video was taken on a winter's day in Sydney.
There's nothing wrong with the 747. LCD screens in Y are not the end of the world, and F and C are just as good as anything else in the fleet.
Ha! I can see my place from here!
i agree
Hasn't changed much except got warmer......very little rain since you left too......we could do with a bit.
Was it cheaper to fly over with United via LAX than Qantas direct from DFW?
gee those flaps are dirty
Robochop 1987 yeah what do expect it's united
I Wish they would replace the OLD 777 from Guam to Honolulu. It using the drop down tv monitors from the ceiling. ugh!
OH MY GOD! THE HORROR. You poor thing.
Is that Savanah Daisly's house?
I don't know. I only use to fly Continental which is now United so I flew with United. I'm 1K with UA so I only fly with them, unless I'm going somewhere UA doesn't fly to.
They can't replace the 747s fast enough. I was supposed to go to Melbourne next month, but after this flight from Sydney. This is the last time I will spend a long time in the back of a United 747. When I have to go to Singapore. Taking CO 777 from Newark to HKG and then a shorter 747 flight to Singapore. I will avoid UA 747a at all cost. This thing is just as bad as those older 777s. It really sad that PMUA operated such dated aircraft.
16hr flight
Thanks for the comment and the sub! I subbed back!
how long was flight ?
+stewart baker About 13.5 hours.
