You are in a perfect situation for testing stuff. Don't commit to anything until you've passed it through the US test. I'm 65, we didn't have the resources to do this. I love your situation, keep doin' what you do... and Go For It !!!
Well there's no flies on you! If life gives you lemons, make lemonade, if it gives you black flies, make chicken feed! Yes, I think we can trust you to give honest reviews so if the gear and companies are helping you grow and especially if they share your vision, I'd love to see the free stuff and reviews. Am looking forward to seeing the new incubators :)
YES! We want to see the stuff that you were talking about. I like to support vendors that are on the ssme wavelength and interested in doing the "natural" thing! Thanks for sharing!
nice informative information learning something new everyday and benefiting everyone thank you hi Gina and Olivia hope your both having a good day today, enjoyed the video, till tomorrow same time same place God bless bye 👋 bye 👍👍👍👍
Great video. I'm open to checking out anything that would help. I trust you to be open and honest about the product. Seems to me that you are that kind of person. Thanks for all you do!
I would love to see your reviews of different products. You never know when it may be something really good and an honest review is well worth it. Thanks for sharing your videos.
Sweet! Yes, I'd definitely like to see some reviews of the goodies your going to be getting! Congratulations on scoring free stuff, I, for one, am happy for you. and thanks for not letting us fall into the pig poop! Rock on Lumnah Acres!
I think he was trying to say, " pasture raised chicken," but it sounds like he said pasteurized chicken.... and he says pig pasture.... I'm from Mississippi. Raised animals and crops all my life.... and have never heard of pastured pigs let alone chickens! LMAO. THIS IS A GREAT VIDEO. Enjoyed his enthusiasm 100%
Lol I just did something like this last week and it works great. I used eggs and water as the solution. Depending on the number of flys around you can get full really fast.
I definitely want to see you review and post the vlog on any & all products. I have come to know and trust your homesteading wisdom and can't wait to see what is forthcoming! I saw the earlier comment from 'Thunder Ridge Homestead' about the maggot bucket breeder for feeding the chickens, I would like to see you do a vlog on that. I'm not talking about the soldier fly larvae, I think that is more for down south or southwest US. Thanks and God Bless.
Great idea! Thanks. We have lots of mesquites do you have any suggestions on getting rid of them. I try to make sure there's no standing water. Blessings...
You can put water and honey to catch the flies among other things...flies are always in the toilet bowl I'm sure you have noticed...they are looking for a warm place to lay their eggs...it's fun to see you recycling the flies for your pigs and chickens!
your energy level has been terrific on your videos and I'm interested in seeing the stuff that you were reviewing your flytrap look great can't wait to see the results and yes it's all about help in the food I eat also. Seeing all this neat stuff will be like the 5th day of Hanukkah
great video, I use diluted apple cider vinegar(or over processed kombucha) in a cup on the counter with a couple of drops of dish soap to catch fruit flies 😊 (not to feed chickens though, just to get rid of the fruit flies) Just wanted to share 😄
i love free stuff! I got a mountain of free wood chips, we couldn't use them all so gave the rest to our neighbor. Good neighbors are worth nurturing right? Did you get a new camera? Have a great week sir. Loving life and living large, it's possible even in a tiny urban setting. I love your can do attitude. 👍🏻
yes i would like to see the reviews.....Also, in your friday updates u never talked about your fruit trees....I see tons of apples...When are u harvesting them?
I would be interested in seeing their products and the fly traps are a stroke of genius Al. Have you seen the bucket of water, rope through a pipe, peanut buttered mouse trap? lol.......great for around feeds were mice infest and you can feed the drowned mice to the chickens and pigs.
if you have animals you have rodents they just may not be a problems just yet. James I will definitely look that one up. I was looking into getting barn cats but it still one more mouth to feed even though they will eat mice.
I'd enjoy seeing the "free stuff" you're getting in the mail! I understand how the milk jug fly trap works but won't the pig poo version be really messy to give to the chicks? I guess I'll see the results in a few days... LOL!
I think I would like to try making my own fly traps, too. The Lowe's ones work great, but those $5 add up. We change them out as soon as they get stinky. We hang them right outside the kitchen door, so we notice when they start getting ripe. The flies love them----they are fighting to get in! I'd rather use a natural attractant. Will be watching your success with the homemade traps.
yeah i was thinking of getting the flytraps bag for my garage/barn but would really like to catch them for the chickens. I have use the 2 liter bottle cut top off turn upside down put top inside bottle tap it and add vinegar. it works very well but you still throw away
Have you ever tried the maggot buckets that Justin Rhodes did? He basically hung a 5 gallon bucket with holes in it in the chicken pen and added some meat to attract flies. I am sure even some of the pig poo would also work. As the fly larva hatch the maggots fall out of the bucket and into the chicken pen to be gobbled up. That would also be a source for free protein.
yes just posted about that and yes it was from Justin that i first saw it on his free chicken feed video. Chickens love it and works very well. What happens is the maggots get big and juicey and start looking to move on and crawl out the holes and the chickens get them first. I was really worried the buckets were going to get all gross and look nasty but the chickens keep it clean. I even hung them on the back sides of the trees so i didn't have to look at them just incase
Lumnah Acres, it was great. The kids preferred it over the store bought stuff and they have been asking for it at every meal. Thanks for sharing your channel with us, we love it.
I love my chicken buckets! if something dies or butcher we put it in the bucket. it has holes in it and the maggots crawl out and the chickens get a treat. Not much smell unless you put your head inside, gross. hahaha. Chickens love it and we love happy chicken
free is free !! and free is good !! great fly traps, thanks for sharing your knowledge and experiences and as always happy gardening and homesteading !! if people want to give you stuff for free we'll take it, anyone would !! but if the cost is your free will, so no !! let me simply say don't get to the stage were you got the company telling you what to say and not a good honest review !!
Yes, please show us the stuff and the review(s)! About fly traps. I use the offal from when I am harvesting and processing poultry in a "maggot bucket". It's a 5-gallon bucket with 3/16" holes drilled all over it. I put some straw in the bottom, add the offal (or whatever stinky stuff I have lying around) add more straw, and hang it near the chickens. Flies lay eggs in the stinky stuff, and soon maggots are crawling out of the holes where the chickens gobble them up. It can get stinky, so don't put it near your house. You can search the internet & RUclips for this thing, but here's Justin Rhode's video: ruclips.net/video/4z2ZuF0XZQw/видео.html If there is too much offal, I put it in a shrink wrap bag and freeze it. Love the videos! Thanks!
Lumnah Acres yeah raw meat of any sort. It doesn't have to be chicken. You could even just take a bunch of marrow scrapings or bones broken to pieces. Anything, flies *love* a dead carcass.
So I’m not seeing a video where you updated on these flie traps. Flies are the BANE of my small farm life! I’d love to find a cheap effective solution! Nothing I have tried to date works!

Well there's no flies on you! If life gives you lemons, make lemonade, if it gives you black flies, make chicken feed! Lol I just did something like this last week and it works great. I used eggs and water as the solution. Depending on the number of flys around you can get full really fast.
Good to know! Thanks for sharing! I will keep your solution in mind! We have plenty of flies! Lol

Great idea! Thanks. We have lots of mesquites do you have any suggestions on getting rid of them. I try to make sure there's no standing water. Blessings...
You can make a trap with a soda bottle and catch them!
You can put water and honey to catch the flies among other things...flies are always in the toilet bowl I'm sure you have noticed...they are looking for a warm place to lay their eggs...it's fun to see you recycling the flies for your pigs and chickens!
It will be interesting to see if one trap is better. As for reviews of free product, as long as you give honest reviews, go for it.
It will be interesting to find out! Yes only honest reviews I dont want my name on anything that I would use!
i'd like to see the free stuff!

I would be interested in seeing their products and the fly traps are a stroke of genius Al. Have you seen the bucket of water, rope through a pipe, peanut buttered mouse trap? lol.......great for around feeds were mice infest and you can feed the drowned mice to the chickens and pigs.
Thanks! Yes I have seen those mice traps If when we get mice I will try them! I bet the pigs will love them!
if you have animals you have rodents they just may not be a problems just yet. James I will definitely look that one up. I was looking into getting barn cats but it still one more mouth to feed even though they will eat mice.
I'm late in watching this. How did the 2 traps work? Sorry kinda playing catch up & jumping around.
We are still waiting on results! Thanks for playing catch up! :)
I'd enjoy seeing the "free stuff" you're getting in the mail! I understand how the milk jug fly trap works but won't the pig poo version be really messy to give to the chicks? I guess I'll see the results in a few days... LOL!
Thanks! I don't think so! I don't think the chickens will mind it!
Do u cut ur grass more often having chickens on it or just let it grow taller ? I've wondered ever scenes the episode u cut it
A little of both and the chickens do a great job eating it too!
Thanks and keep up the good work I hope to have a home stead one day
might try making a fly trap. using the $5 fly bags from Lowe's right now.
Thanks! Next time I go by there I will stop and see if I can find one
I think I would like to try making my own fly traps, too. The Lowe's ones work great, but those $5 add up. We change them out as soon as they get stinky. we just grow worms for our chickens. I hate flys too much but great idea
I bet your chickens love you and the worms! Yes flies are a PAIN!
It will be nice to see what they sent you
I am interested to see too! I don't know everything he sent! Lol
karen catalano will tryand find the video that you made. I like learning.
What's the purpose of the lid and the other piece of plastic above the lid?
Any chance the flies could pass some sort of disease or sickness onto the chickens?
They eat flies in their natural diet.
Let's see how the reviews go!
Did you ever get to drinking the kombucha? We just finished drinking our first batch.
Thanks! We are getting ready to flavor ours here soon! How was your first batch?
Lumnah Acres, it was great. The kids preferred it over the store bought stuff and they have been asking for it at every meal.
Thanks for sharing your channel with us, we love it.
Let's See It! Woo! Hoo!
Woot-Woot
I love my chicken buckets! if something dies or butcher we put it in the bucket. it has holes in it and the maggots crawl out and the chickens get a treat. Not much smell unless you put your head inside, gross. hahaha. Chickens love it and we love happy chicken

Yes, please show us the stuff and the review(s)!
About fly traps. I use the offal from when I am harvesting and processing poultry in a "maggot bucket". It's a 5-gallon bucket with 3/16" holes drilled all over it. Love the videos! Thanks!
Thanks! That is a great Idea! TFS. Love the feedback! :)

Awesome!
I would like to see the free stuff hi to Gena and olivia
Thanks! Gina and Olivia say HI!
Do reviews, that would benefit everyone.
I think you should have used uncooked chicken.
It probably would have started working faster, but we didn't have any on and, I should add some when we have it. Thanks for the idea
Lumnah Acres yeah raw meat of any sort. It doesn't have to be chicken. You could even just take a bunch of marrow scrapings or bones broken to pieces. Anything, flies *love* a dead carcass.
use the parts you dont eat or one that died
i would like to see the product
Great thanks! We will share them!
So I’m not seeing a video where you updated on these flie traps. Flies are the BANE of my small farm life! I’d love to find a cheap effective solution! Nothing I have tried to date works!
