Congratulations on finishing your first 70.3! Seeing you train and finish was inspirational. People who say athletes are a certain build or body size are wrong. Athletes are built in the MIND! If you believe you’re an athlete and show up day in and day out and do the WORK then you are an athlete regardless of what your body looks like. Amazing job!
As someone who always feels like the biggest person out there, it can really mess you up in the head. Dont stop. Keep going. I finished Musselman this year. And it was a struggle. Then, I signed up for Ironman Canada next year in Ottawa.
Such an encouraging video. I'm training for my first marathon and sometimes I worry about my weight and how it will impact my results. But your video reminded me that I should focus on doing things that I want to do, things that bring me joy.
Very inspiring! Great job finishing, and thank you for sharing your journey, many people who thought they can’t, will watch this and get inspired. You should be proud🎉
Congratulations! This is so awesome. And so inspiring. As a plus-sized woman who also has a bit of an idea that I'd like to do a 70.3 someday, I've always really just thought, "Oh no. That's for thin people. You'll have to lose weight in order to do it." Thank you for showing that that isn't true. It's for everyone, as long as you put in the training. (Now I guess I'll have to put in some training.... lol)
@everybodytri thank you for making this video and for your recap of what was a very challenging day for athletes as well as us cheering on the sidelines. Once I saw you there I had to make sure to cheer each time I saw you. I am so happy my comments at the end were heartfelt as I truly meant them. You inspired me as you have done with so many more on this channel. Keep up the good work and thanks for the touching comment at the end as it touched my heart and made me tear up. So happy to see you do this 70.3. Congratulations once again, you are awesome!

🙂Hi @EveryBodyTri 🙏I've been following your journey on RUclips and I'm incredibly inspired by your dedication and passion for the sport. Your journey from weight loss to conquering the Ironman is truly inspiring. I'm reaching out because I believe I can help you take your triathlon performance to the next level. As a seasoned triathlon coach, I specialize in creating personalized training plans tailored to your specific goals and lifestyle.🥇🙌
This is an amazing story, and you are an amazing person. There is a lot of excellent information for your tribe here. With all the course conditions and weather, you killed it!! You really need to keep it up, too. I grew up in Colorado but live on the East Coast. Please hit me up as I have to tell you something that I learned racing this year toward a 140.6 :)
Yeah! You absolute queen 👏🏻💪🏼🤩 huge congratulations on becoming a 70.3 Ironman 🎉 this is so inspiring - I had doing a 70.3 on my bucket list but had pretty much given up on it. Watching you cross that line gave me goosebumps!x
Huge congrats!! I really appreciate you walking through the entire race. 🎉🎉so nice to be near your hometown, and amazing to have such a good friend join you and support you! 😊
@@EveryBodyTri ❤️🤩 your message at the end brought me to tears. You are strong enough, and everybody is a triathlon body! there are so many people who need your gentle push to take on what they think may be impossible. ❤️❤️ I need this reminder when I get down on myself for my size and being in the Athena category. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for you!
You don't know me but I'm proud to have raced on course with you that day. Congratulations on your commitment to achieve something many will never challenge themselves to do and in extremely challenging conditions.
You are a legend 💪 Tough conditions out there but you smashed. You completed the 70.3 so that's all that matters. You beat that course. Absolutely inspiration. Loved following your stories on Instagram 👌
Kate, thanks for this honest and accurate account. I was there too that wet day! I was joining my 25yo son for his first. Loved your pre-race moment interview in car in parking lot. Every athlete that day at JB could relate; watching the rain hit the windshield in the pitch black sky thinking WTH have I done??? Why am I here?? And then still executing on the plan. Your “take” on your day is universal. I could relate to every part of your retelling. And I too am taking some time off. I know I will definitely do another one at some point but for now I have a long list of maintenance things that need to be addressed around my house! So I think I will just be like a normal person and mow my lawn and rake some leaves for a while! Ted #1517
@@tedkenneally7270 what a wild day! That’s so incredibly cool that you did it with your son! A great memory and experience for you both. And yes I too have house maintenance stuff to do… for example my husband and I have been trying to install pavers for a patio in our backyard for practically the whole summer 😂 between the heat here and my business with training it’s been tough but we are finishing up today! Hope to see you at another 70.3 someday!
Fantastic!!! I am doing my first 70.3 in Melbourne Australia in 3 weeks time & this video has given me so much inspiration and also reminded me to lose the fear of not making the cut off. Life isn't about things being perfect:)
I want to do the Jones Beach one next year so my family can come! How did you like the course? You are amazing and deserve all the kudos for showing up in the first place!!! 🎉🎉🎉
@@NikkiBTri-ing thank you!! I loved the course. It’s a fast course, the bike and run are flat and the run is nice down on the boardwalk. The bike is on closed highway which was also very cool. The only issue/ unknown is that it can be windy, and obviously the last two years have been tropical storm conditions 😅 hopefully third time is the charm!
I saw you out there. Yes you looked like you were struggling, but you can sort of tell when someone isn't going to finish, there's a look they have, and you did NOT have that look. The thought in my head was "she's got this". The fact you missed the cutoff isn't the point. You did the miles, you fought the wind, you handled the rain. You achieved. Wear the shirt with pride. 👍
