Dr. Oleske practiced in Newark NJ . We travelled from Southern NJ to see him. My son had Immune issues. Dr. Jim is a wonderful, caring , amazing physician. We were so blessed to have him care for my son with CVID . He cared for many kids with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. I'm not sure how i missed this. What an incredible man.
Very heartbreaking to see the babies, children and even adults in pain and fear. Tim Matheson weather he is being buried alive or portraying Dr. James Oleske always delivers. The cast and crew did a remarkable heartfelt job on this film. God Bless us all....we still have cancer and now this evil virus to battle. Amen.
Let us pray that all doctors and nurses have his bedside manner and dedication. My cousin lost her job as a nurse due to not being allowed this kind of bedside manner
I used to be an RN and I was bullied out of my job, they said I was too slow and disorganized but I wasn't, I simply gave each patient the time they needed and deserved which others didn't like, I think they were jealous because my reputation with patients and relatives was really good. My experience caused me to get significant mental health issues. I'm now a postal worker and my stress level is zero, I miss nursing but you can't put a price on peace of mind so I wouldn't go back.
Another part of today ... R.I.P. beautiful souls who chose heaven over earth due to lack of funding. Blessings to the beautiful medical staff who stuck around trying to make life better and more informed God bless us all
I started a humanitarian project in South Africa. I was there for a year in 2006. Then sponsored them till my body was overwhelmed with hidden toxic mold poisoning. The Zulu's in SA were my best friends ever. I lost 3 of them to AIDS. Heartbroken still. 💔💔💔
Much fraud in government there I believe, again using us as guinea pigs! Africa has long been an initial target! Funny how Gates jumped from computer viruses making him rich to human viruses making him ultra powerful & beyond rich! Fauci & Gates were much involved, including care & treatment & funding! Heard treatments that helped or worked were covered up & restricted, as we have seen in current times, while big ph a r ma makes billions & we go broke! With commercials coming out telling us to be happy to no longer own ANYTHING! Wake up folks, & support Doctor's like this who fight for truth & saving lives! It's not 1 country against another, but elites & those with nwo agenda that want more power & control! They were talking about us useless eaters back around when this was playing out too! And too many showed little to no compassion for those they saw as less than themselves! No one knows how another gets there, without walking a mile in their shoes!
A simple statement - I have often thought if every working person donated a dollar a week to medical research for Cancer, AIDS, MS. etc. and the companies they work for donated 10 dollars a week or more if they so choose how far advanced we could be... It's less than 5 dollars a month to save many lives including our own or someone we love.
maria feltrin I hate to say but the medical establishment and the pharmaceutical industry doesn’t make money when people are healthy. They have cures for cancer
We have to stop the corruption from the top down first, & we have now suffered 2 yrs under the same bureaucracy, & some of the same players, that do disgusting things to puppies, monkey's, & little orphan black babies in NY! Then there are those, even within the cdc & nih I believe who do truly care about the people preservation that science should support, not those who have obsession with over crowding!
@simone5239 you are a bigot.some people got it from blood transfusions. You are the type of person who blame chinese people for covid 19. Get out of here with your mess Signed a christian.
By the time it was first published In the Morbidity and Mortality weekly report in 1981, Doctors in other parts of the US were seeing it in many heterosexuals.
I watched this when it aired (I was 9 years old) and it scared me. I knew the ways one could and couldn't get HIV but it was still scary to see people waste away.
I've never heard of this movie but I've heard the story and I just cried I don't know what else to say except I'll never leave one of my children no matter what
I did my nurses training in the 1980's but it wasn't until I moved to another hospital as an RN in the 1990's that HIV was really forefront in hospital infection control that I remember, this is in Australia. If you got a needle stick you got tested for HIV. I don't remember freaking out about it but maintaining universal infection control practice.
One of my friends died from HIV related complications in 2000. Unfortunately the stigma attached to HIV and AIDS here in Jamaica at that time, due to lack of knowledge on the matter, was horrible. I rarely eat from people and I sat with her, ate her cooking and drank from her cup, because I never wanted wanted her to feel less than she was. I believe it’s the stigma that caused her to give up the fight, and not the pneumonia. I remember when she started to get ill and was undiagnosed, I new very little about about the disease. I use to give my vitamin supplements hoping they would make her better, not knowing she was HIV positive (she didn’t know yet either).
This movie is from 1989. How many times did this happen since then? How many bags with infected blood slipped through due to greed or simple negligance.
Very educational. Really speaks to why we are all in isolation because of this virus we are fighting today. We have spent so much money and so much blood has been shed to spread democracy around the world, that we no longer have any left for the American's.
Some of the same political players got more power as this played out, and doesn't want to relinquish the further power & control achieved with the current!
@@dorothyemmerson2064 Well, back in the mid 80's they told people they did but they were lying to everyone, I know this first hand because my young child needed a blood transfusion and I was petrified, (we were at a big children s hospital) and I asked all the docs if it was tested, (this was in the hight of the AIDS) epidemic, (and this is when you just died from aids, there was no medication to control it), anyway, they all said it was tested . Well, 2 years later I get a call for m my son's pediatrician saying he had to come in for an aids test because 17 children had contracted aids from their blood supply...I thought I was going to die...So then I asked the pediatrician was it tested and he said NO, they weren't really testing, but saying they were! So, that was my experience...thank God my son hadn't contacted aids, but he had to be tested constantly for it, (plus he had health issues) but that just wasn't the case...💔
Ever be a spouse for a dedicated doctor? They will consume themselves in their work, & it is not ultimately healthy for them! They are best served with a wife who " nags" a bit to help them keep balance! My cousin is a world renowned heart surgeon, & his wife has to work to help him keep balance!
@@toddjohnson5176 how rude! Apparently you never learned the valuable lesson that if you have nothing healthy to add, add nothing! Have a good day sir!
what year was this supposed to be set in, beucase by the 80's people know how it was spread and FOR him to say that Its "not known' if its contagious, THEY did know it was contagious. Good movie but a little odd. this press conference did more damage than help.
So much disinformation too often in more current press! It use to be about reporting the news, not creating fear driven narratives over facts! And like the movie Medicine Man portrays, follow the money!

Tim Matheson played that role BEAUTIFULLY.
Such a highly underrated actor.
Just this movie showed me what a wonderful Dr he is. Caring, loving and smart!

I love the way the doctor is so tender with the kids amazing. I also love how hard he's fighting for them.

Tim is such a good actor. The accent is so great. He did a fantastic job portraying this wonderful doctor. Thanks for the upload.
Tim is great actor
I agree. Tim deserves awards for many wonderful movies, they don’t have talented versatile actors anymore.
Wow what a good picture quality! Thanks a lot for the uploading
Sure is, for such an old film.
Awesome film.. compassion and love is what we need to show our fellow man not criticism . It’s not for us to judge.

Depends, Content of Character! The Doctor portrayed had Character in spades, government officials & 3 letter agencies not so much!
1st time watching. We need more Docs like him..❤❤❤❤

This is different than the others.
The actor who brought the trays of food was the actor-physio or physical therapist in the US in Regarding Henry with Harrison Ford
