i like how real and honest she is in this podcast. she is also really funny! i don't watch mediacorp shows anymore but i might tune in to the little nonya for her.
As someone who hasnt been keeping up with local tv media, chantelle really provided me a different outlook on mediacorp artistes. She's so charming and has such a likeable personality lol put her on more podcasts!!
Love how authentically Singlish Chantelle speaks! A homely podcast 👍👍 She can definitely shine for Mediacorp....Hearing from a currently anti TV person 😂
such an enjoyable episode. felt like it could have been longer. chantelle also really carries herself well and promotes herself in a very affable manner
Chantelle is so well-spoken and interesting to a local who has never heard of her or seen her work before. Would be helpful for non Channel 8 viewers to know who her parents are in the "Intro".
Currently, my favourite of Chantelle's drama is Leave No Soul Behind where she acted as the daughter of another actress (Felicia Chin), and that drama is one of my favourites. The Last Episode was so emotional that it was the first time I have seen her role so differently. Anyways, I also rarely watch Mediacorp shows alr as I prefer to watch CNA programmes instead
The reason why i don't watch much Singapore drama is bcoz i felt disappointed by the standard of directing and the script writing , actors are good but lacks a good platform. Why i love the drama My Star Bride bcoz of the directing and script writing was very good as they really tabs into our emotions . And why Korean drama is so good , it's bcoz they are good in engaging audiences emotions which make us cry like a baby when it hits our heart.

MediaCorp TV show was awesome back in the past, like "The Dragon Heroes", "Holland V", and even comedy shows like "搞笑行动”, “剪剪大家乐”. TV shows hit differently back in the past, nowadays I rather watch RUclips, Netflix or Disney+
Kdrama has ruined TV for me - I haven’t been able to bring myself to watch HK or local dramas in a long time. And I’d rather watch local media companies on RUclips like TSL and of course, TDK!
Im a gen z (05') and have been watching mediacorp even up til now. Its true that some mc shows really cmi but there are some that are really worth the watch!! Its just like how in kdramas there are really popular ones and not so popular ones that wouldnt reach international audiences, but we are constantly comparing those top kdramas with our local shows which i dont think is the fairest comparison :( If you have never watched mediacorp since 2000s, some shows that i recommend would be : -Blessings S1 -Three wishes -CLIF series (only S2 and S3 is good imo) -The queen (mewatch only) -my friends from afar (the g.o.a.t) Feel free to let me know ur opinions of these dramas/other dramas which is equally good
I dont watch alot of local dramas, but I like three wishes also!! Another one I rec is 十年...你还好吗 (if only I could)! V interesting premise, about time travel. The theme song 最美的时光 by alfred sim also super nice.
i think most drama written by ang eng tee are good!! some that i'll recommend: the reunion (2001) i still cant forget a particular scene until now just in singapore (2008) the journey (2013-2014) the dreammakers (2013)
Singapore's first drama series, The Awakening, was really good. Subsequent ones that followed like Samsui Women and Price of Peace were really top-notch too. Logically speaking, as the TV station continues to hone its craft, it should be producing better works but disappointingly the later works pale in comparison
I like Chantelle but I definitely would NOT have recommended 'All That Glitters'. I couldn't get past the first episode cos Ayden's acting was terrible and the script was SUPER DATED. The dialogue was cringy and this Eng Tee Ang is still scripting like its the 90s.
Interesting to have arguably the next big thing in the local scene on the podcast. Will it be good to increase production quality by inserting photos/short clips to supplement what is the cast/guest describing?
I haven't been watching the idiot box until I came across epi 7 of 'my star bride' while accompanying my parents. Made me looked for epi. 1 & the rest. Super cast & extremely good acting. Now I will pick & choose good shows
Wah I never watch any SG TV series except for those in the 2000s XD Love this podcast episode and her vibe, damn funny and likeable :D Will keep a look out for her future works! I think it's quite cool that she did this podcast damn well despite sometimes yall don't get her jokes/ Chineses lines / don't know the references she mentioned lol, except for Denise. Not to shame anyone, I just think if it's someone else, this episode is not gonna be fun liao, so appreciate that :D
I’ve no idea who she is and when you mentioned her mother, I was curious who she is… and I was waiting & waiting for the hosts to ‘educate’ the viewers on who her mother is, and the answer never comesss… Anyways, enjoyed this show, watching a bright, positive & joyful being, expressing herself freely ✌️
So actors who win awards now are not because of their acting capabiltiies but how well they can campaign. Cool. What a prestigious award that demonstrates how great of a actor you are.
Well that’s for most popular artistes. If they don’t campaign for you to vote for most popular, how else to judge popularity? Social media followers meh?
Unfortunately, I haven’t watched anything on mediacorp for the last 13 yrs and didn’t know who she is. As an alumni of SMU IS, I will drop you my first vote.
Wish this episode is longer! Interesting insights into life of an actress & how Mediacorp does castings. But lol tho… from Chantelle’s answers in the bonus clip it’s like she doesn’t watch mediacorp shows herself except those she’s in! 🫣💀 still, lookin fwd to little nyonya 2 🙌🏻🙌🏻!
i like how real and honest she is in this podcast. she is also really funny! i don't watch mediacorp shows anymore but i might tune in to the little nonya for her.

her mother is veteran actress lin meijiao and her father is wang yiliang
The most ironic thing abt those who always say local TV is boring n lousy is that they don't watch local TV. 😅
Currently, my favourite of Chantelle's drama is Leave No Soul Behind where she acted as the daughter of another actress (Felicia Chin), and that drama is one of my favourites. Nice episode, rly gives a different perspective of the current local scene in sg, Chantelle presents herself really well
Previously only watched Chantalle's dramas, her personality is so cute and likeable!

Agreed! We have many amazing actors but the writers are the problem.
Leave No Soul Behind is also another great Mediacorp drama that you should watch
lol she’s funny but yall don’t understand Chinese >< I enjoyed it! 😂

We need more of Chantalle!!! ❤❤❤ enjoyed this!
HAHAHA. She told her Chinese joke and waited for the laughs that never came

If you have never watched mediacorp since 2000s, some shows that i recommend would be :
-Blessings S1
-Three wishes
-CLIF series (only S2 and S3 is good imo)
-The queen (mewatch only)
-my friends from afar (the g.o.a.t)

I totally agree with blessings and the queen 🤩🤩. But my GOAT is 揭秘 (disclosed), the chemistry and plot was SO GOOD
Haha my last ever classic was 2007 the little nyonya and i gen Xer here Go catch it prime Jeanette Aw like the current prime Chantelle Ng hahahaha
I dont watch alot of local dramas, but I like three wishes also!!

金色大道 actually not nice. Recommend Silent Walls密宅.
Agree with on jin se da dao 😂
I agree tbh
Bring her back for a few more episodes
She’s cute ☺️ with some shyness yet outgoing. Just have fun in her works. ☺️
I like Chantelle but I definitely would NOT have recommended 'All That Glitters'.

Her dramas but except All that gitters is ok (especially of course My Star Bride and also Leave No Soul Behind)
Please invite constance lau!! 👏👏👏 so underrated

Mediacorp is dead. Could not recall the last time I switched on TV and watch local channels.
Nice podcast + Nice guest but Clickbait title...
Wah I never watch any SG TV series except for those in the 2000s XD
Love this podcast episode and her vibe, damn funny and likeable :D Will keep a look out for her future works!

I really like star awards and sometimes i will vote too
I’ve no idea who she is and when you mentioned her mother, I was curious who she is… and I was waiting & waiting for the hosts to ‘educate’ the viewers on who her mother is, and the answer never comesss… Anyways, enjoyed this show, watching a bright, positive & joyful being, expressing herself freely ✌️
陈梅姣 and her father is 黄义良
her mother is veteran actress lin meijiao! she acted as the villain in the little nyonya, and she also acted in the star bride
Her mother is Lin Meijiao. Mediacorp actress.
Lin Meijiao is her mother.
In the 90s/2000s, it was purely acting, but with social media, bopian lor
i mean you have to be good enough to have fans to begin with mah, not good campaign also no use, nobody will rmb or support, so it makes sense
Yah lor all these keyboard warriors really. Most popular must vote one what 🙄
Need Steven Lim to judge acting skills
Unfortunately, I haven’t watched anything on mediacorp for the last 13 yrs and didn’t know who she is. As an alumni of SMU IS, I will drop you my first vote.
Aiyo so cute
The elderly still watch Ch 8 dramas though.
Yup! My mum is an ardent fan!
Voted for her!!!!!

Haha interesting Hope she shoot big venture dramas outside Singapore soon
I watch Netflix
1 production will be 3 months? TV show takes 3 months to finish?
How to make her my gf?
I have no idea who is she..? Is she another actress’s daughter?
Am I the only one who thinks she looks like Blackpink Jennie??
just you i guess...
