In today's video, I take a look at the Generation 6 Pokemon games and discuss my personal opinions on them. Although I grew up playing both XY and ORAS, I have A LOT to talk about, so enjoy :)

honestly, i adore gen 6 even though its very easy.
Everything was so hype, megas, anime, pss, i havent felt the same way since.
Gen 6 and 7 executed the power available to the 3DS perfectly
Honestly I disagree. You have to mindlessly grind without the exp share
I would rather have the exp share on all the time to save time grinding cause i dont have all eternity to play for 300hrs. Like a maniac cause i have other games i would rather play 300hrs. On than pokemon but its not all bad if its just the issue of exp share if i want it on i would leave it on if i wanna be that guy that wanna spend 300hrs in a game i would leave it off.
You never had to grind in the older games at all if you where good at the game, you never played the older games stop bitching
Exp share should always be optional for those who like the grind and for those who want easy mode. And shouldn’t be forced in either direction
My son homebrewed his 3DS and is playing every Pokémon game for his 3DS.

XY and XYZ anime were cool. Angry they left Mega Evolution in the dust because its really been the best gimmick in Pokemon in my opinion. Good designs and stuff is amazing but with a lackluster game and story makes me very angry >:(
They should just make Pokemon Z instead of remaking X and Y. Best way to make a remake and new gen honestly
And be utterly dissapointed that it dint meet peoples expectation i mean looking at BDSP on the side......... Honestly pokemon should just follow the colosseum format and have the moves be more dynamic instead of the double kick but the pokemon is just jumping etc.
You’ll just get a port, maybe in hd if you’re lucky. 😂

Also by the way, you should try Pokémon Eternal X or Wilting Y (basically a Pokémon X and Y rom hack but you get brutally murdered by every single Pokémon)

Pokemon X and Y to me is how a lot of millenials feel about the Sonic Adventure games. Down to people thinking that the jump to 3D were where the games started becoming bad due people not liking the newer games, even though they were well liked at the time.
They're no masterpieces and are missing a lot of content but I still enjoy them because of the vibes. The hype around mega evolution in the anime and VGC was something special.
ORAS is peak though, one of the best remakes of all time. Similar to how Diamond and Pearl are just okay but HeartGold and SoulSilver were incredible.
I really like the xp share. I feel the games are too grindy without them.

Yeah if he thought XY were bad then he isn't ready for Sun and Moon which feels like 90% of it is pointless textboxes and tutorials and 10% of it is actual gameplay.

Oras are amazing. Best 3ds pokemon games.
To be fair the exp shair is very little because all of the pokemon games are very easy to beat.
E.g in fire red you can get a nidoking by the time you visit the second gym
And in emerald you can get aGardevoir that will wipe everything

I just can't get over the Elden Ring DDR comment 😂😂 Somehow, I mainly blame drinking my way through my late teenage years, I skipped all the 3DS games. I'm diving in now. Wish me luck 🙏🏻
I love the xp all. The reason for that is because in past Pokémon games it was already hard enough to grind for levels in the post game.

I completely forgot X&Y existed until yesterday. In my opinion I think it’s crazy how X&Y was the start of the downfall of the Pokémon Games(Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire are my favorites in the 3ds era tho) and hopefully Pokémon gets back on track with how amazing last year’s Legends Arceus was
That settles it imma just replay all games and catch every pokemon from there original game

Personally I like the newer games
With about 70% of the Pokemon playerbase (the casuals) still not knowing about type advantages and disadvantages I think letting them brute force the games by letting them having Exp Share on is THE least egregious problem of the 6th Gen. Now that slog from Gym 1 to Gym 2 then blitz through Gyms 3-8, now THAT was a problem. End of the day while I wouldnt consider this my favourite games, they were some of the most fun games Ive ever had the pleasure of playing. I hope they bring back Berry Farming from XY some day.

Why would you want a level 50 pokemon that isnt the weakness of a gym and the pokemon that you need the most at level 5?
Violet didn’t cost me 120 dollars. I don’t know where you got your version but maybe look up the market prices before buying.

I only knew pokémin went 3d at imega ruby and saphire. Up until thst point I thought pokemon black and white was the newest pokemon, all while playing my beloved pokémon platinum :D
To be fair that’s how Pokémon is nowadays everyone gets xp in your party and I understand that but if they could add a difficulty option for us to pick when we start a new game (easy, normal, hard, Pokémon master) that could make the game experience better because I understand just grinding every single individual Pokémon to level 52 is like having a part time job and I use to do that on Pokémon white 🤣🤣 but I do agree it’s way to ez and I have more fun when games are hard.
So basically you just hate on scarlet/violet(best pokemon game on switch) AND 3ds pokemon. Are you sure you liked the series to begin with? You talk about bw being your first game but have you played the og red/green(fire red/leaf green)?

Legenda arceus is best switch game. I don’t hate the 3DS pokemon games, I hate XY. I’ve played every game in the series multiple times and it is by far my favorite game franchise of all time.

Hey man, I really like this video because it points out some of the problems with these games. It's good to know what's right and wrong with each of these games. Gen 6 did introduce some problems that people fail to recognize...but
I want to mention some things. So, if you don't mind me sharing my opinion about your video, then here we are.
Yes, while generation six has many flaws that stick out like a sore thumb, I feel like the way you handled this video was a little unprofessional. There were a few instances within this video that made me question if you were being serious even. Let me give you an example: at 3:20 , you create a "straw man" to seemingly represent defenders of the game? And this could be interpreted as irony, I'm aware of that, but you're still creating a straw man to make your argument seem stronger than it is. It seems like you might be antagonizing the people who actually defend the games a few times in the video just based off of your tone, instead of the points itself. One thing you seem to fail to recognize is most of the good things X and Y brought to the table, and when you do, you breeze past these points, as to make your point stronger, it seems. Though, I'm not completely aware of your fullest intentions.
I will say, your style of editing is entertaining and funny, and definitely deserves some more attention, for one. You make a lot of valid points that I've definitely never thought of before. Such as the exp share not being able to be turned off and making the game way too easy and such. In my opinion, these feelings are completely valid. And even though these games do have a lot of faults, including partly why people hate modern Pokemon games nowadays, I feel like it's definitely a little bit of exaggeration to say that these games are really "that bad". Here's why.
Expectation. I've noticed people constantly mentioning how Pokemon Z could've changed everything, and while, this is an interesting point to make, I disagree. I feel like expectation is what's setting people up for disappointment, as they say. I'll notice this behavior quite a lot within the community of Nintendo itself, false expectations.
While it is reasonable and very human to get your hopes up, I feel like there's a lot of things that aren't being understood here. One, is that the team exp share makes it so that you don't have to constantly grind with different Pokemon to get them up to the same level. This is a commonly hated flaw with Pokemon games and you're overlooking the fact that it may be beneficial to fans who...just hate the grinding aspect.
So, I liked your video. It was short and sweet, informative, and interesting. It takes a lot of energy to edit like you do, so props for that. And your points were very valid. Thanks for reading.
