basically FTISLAND is the first mainstream idol k-band and FTISLAND was there before FNC was called FNC. With FTISLAND making the way for more k-bands to thrive in FNC, fighting management to give them more liberty over their music, molding and shaping their own sound
For me, FTISLAND has the most diverse discography among K band. They can deliver rock ballad, pop , pop rock and rock even though rock is not popular in Korea.
First song is their debut song, thinking of Hongki sang it at age of 17 is impressive and it’s evergreen song for Korean. It’s still charting in melon after 17 years of release.
Their debut album is full-length album with 12-13 songs and it’s considered as the legendary album. Actually, he can sing just his debut albums in Dingo because every song is well-known in Korean. 3 songs topped 1 in chart
ftisland is honestly so underrated, their stage presence is incredible. Remembered watching their concert in Singapore, and i love it! Hongki's voice is special, its easy to recognise his voice anywhere such that its almost impossible to find another voice that sounds like him. Their japanese songs are the best, wished they sang them in Singapore
Was waiting for somebody to react to this! Lee Hongki has a golden voice honestly, he has such a presence and anytime he covers other artists he really seems to make the songs his own. Also the funniest thing with “Wind” is that he has sung that with a lot of people on his radio show and you reaaaaally don’t understand how powerful those parts are until you see everyone either struggle or just not have the power haha Also yes, ft islands music is basically written for Hongki and it would not be Ft island without him
HongKi's also has solo songs that are more pop. Even there, his voice fits very well, so for my feeling. He also has some OST's that I love. In summary, HongKi's voice is my all time favorite. He is the first and only singer who made me cry just by his voice (it was a video from a solo concert and the song was In The Rain).
Hongki and Yonghwa are absolutely FNC's foundations. They are the kings that build FNC basically. I was convinced to go to their concert after I watched their We Will full concert video that someone uploaded on YT. I didn't regret. Their live performance is fantastic. And how Hongki perform in this video really took me back to that time. I got PCD after the video ended. I think I Wish was inspired by Train's song 50 Ways To Say Goodbye in some ways. Severely and Wind are really two of their best songs. And I've add Sage to that list. The thing about CNBLUE and FTISLAND is, they've been more active in Japan years before their hiatus. I mean they released only 1 Korean album and 1 or 1 Japanese single in a year, then they spent the rest of the year going on tour in Japan. So I think they've been away from kpop community talks for a long time.
I like almost all SM's song because of the roller coster and power vocal that thay have in every group. Other than thay, FT island is the only outdlside group that I really like because of their music and vocal.
I appreciate your react to this video. But When it comes to the FTISLAND, you should react to their Live. Their live concert is wayyyyyy better/great than studio version. I think 'It is a MUST' 😂😂😂
Just got a notif today, Hongki promotes on Everyone Sing Well (basically busking and pick lucky audience to sing along with guest show), then the crew surprised him by bringing out his bandmates after he sung Sage. Cue glorious times. Subtitle usually up after a day or two. [ruclips.net/video/PidkABVHdF4/видео.htmlsi=8GJC71CEntxt8beH] Also, algorithm led me to recently made channel expansion of Tiny Desk Korea. Good jams all around, their first guest was the old but gold Kim Changwan's Band and if you're already familiar with IU's Memories of You, he's the original singer. P.S. Changsub, his fellow musical actor Ko Eun Sung, and Soyou are currently on Begin Again Open Mic for Monday. Melodies mentioned the accompanists (guitar & keys) are from SuBand's The Whales
My Spotify playlist of FTISLAND live songs is more than 6,5 hrs long… Still listening to all of them on a regular basis 🥰… Pleaso DO explore more of their music… Whenever there’s a chance, choose the live performance over the M/Vs… 😊
