From the begining to about 4.00 - I think this is Bulgaria. After that it's probably Serbia. The mothers with the small children in the begining- the way they are dressed - I still keep some of those clothes from my grandmother. The flowers on the skirts, the way they carry their children on their back and the way the woman is knitting and swinging her baby in the trough - this is exactly from the stories I have heard from my grandmother. Some of those customs are preserved as rituals and presented at holidays as plays with music and songs. The clothes are preserved everywhere in Bulgaria and most people still have them from their grandmothers, each created by their hands. They are rich with colours, and by the patterns and the colour palette the diferent regions in the country can be separated. Every village had a certain paterns and if people know them, they can tell even the village they belong to. The patterns on the edge of the sleeves and the neckline, on the chest have a certain meaning. The different shapes can mean protection from illness, motherhood, wishes for fertility, ets. After the 4.00 min there is significant change of the way children are dressed, the type of hats is different from the bulgarian, but I know less about that anyway. This is amazing video. Thank you.
