Looks like the CNW FA and a few flat cars carrying wheel trucks were dropped off somewhere. But can't wait to see what to see the completed restoration of the equipment.
Now that they are in Silvis, time to get to work and onward with the restoration of all this amazing equipment especially 3985, 5511, and 6936
I believe 6936 is still operational
@@ironhorsemedia2881 yeah it's diesel, so if it had problem with the engine or traction motor just swap out with newer generation component.

im very eager for 5511 to be restored, its my favorite union pacific locomotive by far.
Can’t wait to see the restorations…….the DD40 is awesome too
Me too maybe when challenger is fully restored she can finally reunited with big boy and 844 living legend
6936 Is an absolute Beast! You really got the good Catches Man! Keep up the Great work! Subscribed! 699!
Thanks
3985 and 5511 have certainly seen better days, oh my god. I can't wait to see them after theyre back in operational condition!
remove the boiler jacket from any operational steam loco and you'll see pretty much the same thing

This is exciting work. I have been following the progress in Silvis and love how much progress they have made.
3985 is my 2nd favorite steam locomotive. The first being 4014.
Up 3985, 5511 & 6936
Its so sad to see the state of 3985 here
Imagine a future gathering of big mainline steam with 6988, 261, 7081, 5511 and 3985 is possible one day, that would be awesome!

The f unit was dropped off at council bluffs
Love the tumbleweed that crosses the tracks at 9:09
I swear those tumbleweeds were out to get me
@@spproductions5103 Interestingly, I've lived in Iowa for 10 years and haven't seen a single tumbleweed!
Up challenger 3985 going to iowa
The return of the steam era
The 5511 will add some nice spice and variety to the typical "modern big steam" that is still running today. Hooray for the 5511!
Amazing and they tacked on a short manifest.
The freight cars were on for extra braking power
9:09: *Why did the tumbleweed cross the road?*
Fantastic video!
Thanks
Certainly is good PR for UP!! Two more steam engines saved!
Yay! 2 more steam engines being restored!
wait what happened to the CNW F unit that was on the train
It was taken off at council bluffs, it's going to boone iowa
darb sees the onion potato donation special and other stories
I read somewhere that Ed was taken to the emergency room is he ok?
What happened to that other old diesel that was behind the that old B-Unit and 8198? I think it was a Chicago and Northwestern F unit?
It was towed to Boone Iowa in December. UP had it sit in Council Bluffs till Brake Shoes could be pit on it.
@@railfanmaximstill7279 Cool, didn't seem like anyone really payed much attention since the 3985 really drew most of the attention.
What are they doing with this stuff
They will be restored to operation again to power excursion trips on regionals and shortlines mostly throughout the Midwest.
I have a question. Why are the 3985 & 5511 being one flat car away from each other?
I guess they needed that to hold onto the light generator. That is especially needed when they have to grease the steam engines every so often.
