- Today I discuss where the president, and by extension the rest of the US Federal Government could have gone in The Walking Dead Universe after the outbreak, Why they haven't been seen in the decades since, and what their possible return could mean for the future.

I’m always trying out new stuff so let me know how you feel about on camera videos folks!
It looks nice!
I think that it's perfect! Good job!
@@Swell-Films it’s not even bad, but I have watched all your videos the last seven days and it’s just a change that slightly takes me out of it because I have to shift my focus from the center of the screen to the shoulder over. I think you should keep doing exactly what you wish, it’s a good channel
I will go with obama / biden in office but here is what I think could have happened :
While the white house is being evacuated a staff member or random attacks michelle infecting them. while in a helicopter that was there to get obama out michelle turns killing the potus and crew in the copter making biden the new potus.
biden gets operation COBALT put in front of him and signs for it to happen and for the most part in some areas it is carried out.A military officer finds out his family was wiped out in the operation and gathers a group together that are either guilty for what was done or lost family and go on to "clean sweep" the bunker they are in killing the potus and staff.
They thn leave it to go out and either self delete or start new lives as new people to forget what they have done to civilians or hide their shame of killing citizens .
@@Swell-Films friendly suggestion: utilize the screen shots and fair use clips until your overview assessment at the end and then pivot to camera! Just a suggestion, keep that segment until the end?
Always found it interesting that it was confirmed in Fear that Bill Clinton existed as a president from our real world, but then William Milton was introduced as a fictional one and kinda pushed the TWD universe further away from ours.
It’s similar to are timeline but something are probably different.
William Milton probably wasn’t a whole lot different from our timeline’s version of Ronald Reagan given how much of his policies shaped American culture at the time, the fact that he likely still sent economic support to the Mujahideen since we know 9/11 happened in TWD as well, and just in how the commonwealth is run in general. They probably just wanted to avoid using a real president because it may have run the risk of stirring up IRL controversy over how said president is portrayed in the show, and as we all know Reagan would’ve already been dead by the time of the outbreak anyways.
It’s sorta like how the MCU confirmed Obama was President at some point but after him real world history changes as we get Matthew Ellis in Iron Man 3

What you referring to?
I'm not from the US, so I paid no attention to that. But that's very interesting! I wonder what else is same but different...
I always imagined that Mt Weather is just filled with VIP zombies aimlessly waiting for future archeologists.
Yeah, that's what I would guess. In TWD, it would be even worse. Since everyone already has the virus, all it would take is for some old Senator to have a heart attack or choke on his food and now you have a dead guy that nobody knows will turn into a zombie
Chaos ensues.
I actually live near mount weather its on the top of a steep mountain surrounded by a barbed wire fence and far from any towns or cities so I could imagine it actually being a great place to hunker down
Yeah i can see all the emergency bunkers being filled with them turned as over time people would die and not know how to handle the dead.
I think maybe it was like in World War Z, the government managed to evacuate Hawaii, with a good contingent of the army and navy to at least keep the walkers and protesters under control.
After that they probably became an authoritarian government, probably due to the isolation of the island they no longer have enough resources to operate the ships and planes. So they are stranded or have very limited logistics if they want to return to the continent.
I think they did something similar in the ship too, the government exists but no one knows becauae they were stranded somewhere (sorry for spoilers if not seen that) ♡
Hawaii would just collapse because the government was incompetant
Cept in WWZ, the military started at a central american chokepoint and worked their way north to clear cites and eventually won “the war”. But zombies also froze in all northern temps
@@ariyaenbansal they would be giving zombies they/them pronouns
Used to watch old military shows and I think I heard ships can be powered and operational for decades.
It’s been said to death by now, but I really would be interested in seeing and hearing more of the government side of early apocalypse, the little tidbits we heard in The Ones Who Live episode 1 (about some people disagreeing with the choice to bomb cities, etc.) were interesting
100% agree, it’s like a no brainer for a spin off
I was hoping FWD would have explored it. They didnt...except for stuff in the submarine. Idk why they won't do it.
It is obvious that one HUGE difference in TWD universe is that the Second Amendment was either gone, or severely weakened. That's the only way any number of slow moving Zombies could destroy America along with the rest of the world.
In twd every assault rifle is is automatic so i don’t think so lmao
I really hoped that FTWD would of really benefitted from showing the government side. It's kind of what Frank wanted to do with the soldier from the tank in season 1. Season 2 would of opened showing that soldier's backstory. AMC has damaged this show so much with their budget cuts.
If only HBO took the show over early on and kept the same characters, I have a feeling this show wouldn't of died off so much
I recently noticed that on S2E1 you can see a Barack Obama “HOPE” sticker in one of the cars in the highway so that for me confirms that he might’ve been President in TWD universe at the time of the outbreak
I’ll have to go back and look myself, you have a serious eagle eye if that is the case
@ yess it’s very blink and you miss it im shocked i caught it
Oh that is so dope you saw that could def be true, but also get the feeling that they were just to lazy to take the sticker off. The episode did release in 2011 which is when Obama was in office. It could also be on purpose and was meant to signify Obama was the president at that time in TWD. Who really knows but it’s really cool to think about!
If he was president than his last offical order was to nuke Chicago.... he was so real for that.
Yes Obama was president and he went underground when the outbreak started happening he got blood supplies and food. So Obama was on the radio when he talked to people to make sure they are still living. Rick hears the president voice
The government could have pulled a enclave type system fleeing to an island like Hawaii where the remnants of the airforce and navy could be
They plan on things like that. I just retired from the army infantry and ranger battalion after 20 years. After I was hurt in Iraq I was lucky to spend the last seven years working with the continuity of government plans and CDC fall back location planning. I was just a nobody but it does work how you'd expect where all the big wigs get saved and everyone else will be left to fend for themselves. Biggest thing they plan for is an EMP and conventional nuclear detonation. They have many many secure sights in the US and offshore locations as well
I like to think that the government is underground and waiting for the walkers to thin out by "starvation" and people putting them down.
20 years?
Here's my head canon! My belief is that the President perished not so long after Cobalt, due to a coup from his remaining security and military details after Cobalt was initiated. Given that we know that soldiers were very willing to defy authority, such as with GIs deserting and the refusal to nuke Chicago, its all too likely that the Secret Service and maybe some military guards as well realized that the America they swore to protect was gone, and that there was no more point to protecting the leader of a dead nation.
Operation Cobalt ultimately caused their coup to be initiated, since these Secret Service personnel certainly had family, friends, and loved ones who might have been liquidated due to the increasingly desperate orders authorized by the President and his military officials. They also correctly viewed that Cobalt would do nothing more than destroy the country and make it so much harder for anyone left after to forge themselves a better life. As such, upon learning of what Cobalt was, they immediately turned on the President, either banishing or outright terminating him, alongside every senior military and government official nearby, before going into the dark new world to destination unknown.
This would explain why no further orders were received after Cobalt, despite the common knowledge that POTUS would go to a safe location to issue said orders. I also think that when Cobalt was ordered, the scene was literally the same as the Steiner failed attack scene in Downfall, where the desperation was palpable, making the Secret Service and his remaining military view him more and more as a lunatic who failed to protect the American people.
A smart way for the government to regain control without an army is by sending highly skilled operatives to infiltrate factions as "newcomers." By rising through the ranks and gaining influence, they could gradually steer these groups toward unification under the old government’s system, either through diplomacy or force if necessary. This subtle takeover could effectively restore order and stability.
It was odd how they went to Washington DC in the main show yet never tried to search for the president or some type of federal bunker as dc is filled with them
the White House is heavily protected they’d need to smash into the gates and the capital building likely would be completely abandoned to
I was disappointed about that as well. I love S9ep1 when finally they went into DC, if only to loot the Smithsonian. I'm guessing it was the expense of so much need for opticals holding them back. But to me, checking out the White House, the Capitol and other sites for survivors would be a no brainer.
True
Why?
They wouldn’t be in DC they’d be at the Raven Rock bunker in Pennsylvania
Bro used the fallout 3 image of Raven Rock lol that’s gold
Also Fallout 2 enclaves president too
I was almost expecting him to show First Ranger Seth or President Tandi banknotes lol
and the please stand by at 2:20
its my opinion that the Federal Government is all gone. Even the most hardy bunker still needs supplies and they more than likely ran out waiting for the wildfire virus and the undead to blow over and they ran out of supplies and now roam their bunkers as undead (which in my opinion would make for a killer episode) or they evacuated when supplies ran out and like you said, fled elsewhere or died trying.
That would be a great limited series for TWD universe
Not really, the presidential bunker probably has enough food for a century or some crazy shit. It’s probably the most well stocked place in the country
I highly doubt the presidential nuclear bunker isn’t prepped for years, not to mention hydroponics probably even has its own reactor like a submarine.
I mean, if a bunch of random internet commenters thought of this, there's no way the federal government didnt.
Solution would be have seeds of staple crops with nuclear powered bunkers like in fallout. Reactor powers the lights to grow food and just tie the underground base into a water source or have the reactor also power some form of water purification.
Self sufficiency would be totally doable with the current resources of the government
There is a bunker atm that has every known plant seed. I think it's in Europe but, I am not sure where.
Bro cooked get this man a writers job
Haha too kind!
@@Swell-FilmsSee!? I'm not the only one who thinks this.
too bad they only hire highschoolers
Either
A- Executed by the CRM
or
B- Leading some kind of Enclave-type thing
the CRM would just fail , if the government did survive it would probably be in Hawaii and if they somehow do stabilize and if NOAH was real they would have gotten a huge sum of the military to relocate
Aren’t the crm the enclave type thing
@@LethalTalentz By Enclave, I mean the remains of the US government itself, not a state government. The closest Fallout analogue has to the CRM would maybe be the BoS
It would be cool to see some type of ncr pop up in California, in the comics they say the west alliances were big and in the live action universe I think califronia has been hinted at being more stable than it was in the beginning so gangs and civilians likely rounded up and started going after the walkers like what we see in the 1970 dawn of the dead
@@icrywhenisleep2130 Honestly a New California Republic type nation on the west coast in the TWD universe would be cool to see.
William Milton was grandson of Jim Milton who was actually a notorious outlaw named John Marston.
Now that's a theory I can get behind
In episode 4 of Tales of The Walking Dead it shows that there's a zone demarcated by a 40-foot deep, 200-meter wide man-made trench spanning hundreds of miles in the Wiregrass region of the U.S. so it makes me wonder who had the man power and resources to build that, also the researchers inside has to be sent by some kind of organization, maybe what remains of the government.
Hard to say really.
Some things within the episode point towards the researcher being sent there pre-outbreak to study something and he chose to stay there post-outbreak.
The trench might have been created by the military early on to try and contain the outbreak by quarantining infected individuals into that zone, not knowing the researcher was still there. This also explain why there are walkers within the zone.
It is also suggested that this is pretty far into the future judging by the scientists age and how much wildlife seems to prosper within the zone but most importantly because it is outright said that groups will travel into the zone to collect walker heads which strongly suggests a lack of walkers outside the zone which makes me and many others think that the episode likely takes place several decades into the apocalypse, far further than we have ever seen.
Your endgame idea would work so well! But honestly I doubt AMC will do it
Like the mix of the regularly editing with camera on parts! Id like to see an episode where high ranking officials after operation cobalt dealt with the guilt of their actions, and where they went!
Thank you I wanted to try something new!
see absolutely need to see something like that, I want them to take another crack at tales of the walking dead, but they would need to put a lot more love into it
AMC could make a millions if they made more shows about different people and different stories. For example a show following a soldier from before the outbreak till the eventual collapse would be so cool to watch, especially to see what it would have looked like on their side.
They tried to show what was happening in the U.S Military when the outbreak first started in Fear the Walking Dead but it didn't really work out that well and they were portrayed as super incompetent for some reason which was kind of disappointing. I agree though, a spin-off series solely dedicated to a military unit that experienced the early days of the outbreak would be very entertaining. By Season 11, its been 13 years since the outbreak began and by Dead City if I recall correctly it's about 18 or 19 years so there's probably no chance that any original U.S government structure or personnel exist at this point. If they do, they probably either joined the Civic Republic, The Commonwealth or some other large community.
Frank Darabont was gonna do something like that for the beginning of season 2 but it was rejected by AMC.
The US government has several bunkers, and the two big ones that come to mind are: It is the Greenbrier bunker in West Virginia. (The Whitesprings, if you play Fallout 76) The other is the Cheyenne Mountain Complex in Colorado.
Fun fact. In the hunger games universe. It's commonly accepted that the Capitol is indeed in Colorado, and the rebelling districts lead by D13 is in between Virginia or further north in Ontario. It's so interesting when these stories still use the real world to guide how their government could potentially still work long after the old world is gone.
Imagine that they do try to reclaim everything after what rick did. You know the president is going to end up getting the tomas treatment. 😂
Thank you, this has always been my most pressing question, and you’re my favorite TWD creator by far!
Hey thanks so much! Means a lot!
I doubt anyone from the original federal government is still kicking and are probably dead walkers in their bunkers.
In fear there was a government bunker around till they got killed so i assume there is till some about
Didn't y'all get the memo,The virus was unleashed by terrorists that had already infiltrated the president's cabinet members and walked right into the president's bunker, then deleted herself and began to take everyone out. The crime scene pics were gruesome.
I really want a show that shows more on what the Govt & military on how they react more to the Walkers. An show more made for TV show protocols, on in case of societal collapse and where at least the US Govt will regroup. Cause the lore of the early days are so interesting, and if the Old US govt is still around, then what's there reaction to the Civic Republic of Philadelphia and any of the other communities like The Commonwealth.
Agreed! Seeing the actions by US and other governments to stop the Wildfire virus (and then the Walkers) is something I would really like to see. Watching these efforts fail and seeing all the world governments collapse would be epic. There are so many stories to tell.
It would also be a good reminder to us all of how fragile the world around us is. Reminding us to not take for granted all the luxuries we have and the freedom we enjoy.
As someone who lives in the UK, I wish we would get more on the UK but it seems we are only getting one episode as all they show for season three is London.
I'd assume Season 3 of Daryl Dixon will primarily take place within the UK considering that at the end of S2 they left france through the Euro-Tunnel which exits in the UK so we will probably get to see quite a bit of the UK with them likely returning to the US late into the Season.
@@Z38_US I have heard from others that they are going to Span, but I will wait to see what will happen.
@@TheFirstEvil100 they have been mostly filming in Spain. After all from what I've heard others say they are using locations in Spain to look like London.
I think it's safe to say we won't spend more than 3 episodes in the UK before they travel to Spain.
That being said I agree I really want to see more of the UK and after all they suggested that the UK coped fairly well with the outbreak to begin with at least.
@@coraldiamond1922 True I do think only maybe London fell as that city is big and with are a small island. What do you hope we see with the UK?
I'm England too and would love to see more UK than just the Channel Tunnel... I was assuming from the little I know, DD3 was just passing through on the way to Spain, unfortunately. We do have the 28... Later films though.
10:45 "take to the skies" could be a plot element to tie in Robert Kirkman's alien origin
It kinda reminded me of the governments plan in Don’t Look Up to find a new planet and leave everyone behind
Your channel deserves more subs and views man. I always enjoy your content keep it up
It would be awesome to witness a Walking Dead Universe Show set in Russia, a lot Russian Cities are actually pretty fucking isolated and are separated sometimes by tens to hundreds of kilometers with only thin highways and even sometimes just small roads connecting one another. There is even some cities in Siberia that can only be accessed by Helicopter. Russia is also filled with military hardware leftover from the cold war, so imagine how much better equipped survivor communities would be. Imagine if Negan had a fleet of Armor and Air to back up his ego. That would be sick.
My take is that the government could of retreated to Alaska. I remember that tale tell games saying the temperature up north worked well at making the dead slower and less effective, so I feel just in case things couldn’t get under control they decided to go somewhere where the threat wouldn’t be as severe, I.E the north.
They could held up in large bases in the Rocky Mountains like in WWZ.
loving the camera content bro keep it up its really engaging
Yessss new great video thanks ty swell💯👍, also i have being rewatching some of your older videos and they are real fun
Haha I appreciate that! I rarely go back to my old catalogue but when I do it’s a trip lol
Some interesting scenarios that you have proffered in this excellent video. An intriguing premise... initially I think a society that had been left to survive on it's own, to find governorship of it's own, to basically start the country from scratch again would be at the very least sceptical of a pre apocalyptic leader who has essentially been i hiding for years to just come back and retake overall control again. I couldn't see it happening. Thanks Ty for a very well propositioned video.
Rick- “Dear god…….the IRS”
💀
IVE been waiting for this
Mr Swell!! You handsome Barstard! Excellent video. Really thought provoking... There is no way I'd scrat around for 2 decades in the ruins of society and have any snivelling Government crawl out of their "comfy bunkers" and start lording it over me again! I appreciate there are procedures for disasters where they have to retreat and attempt a continuation of "command" but they definitely lost me at Cobalt. I can also see why that was executed as a last resort, but in my view, they cease to exist as any sort of moral arbiter afterwards. Was Mount Weather depicted in the 100? Also, are you looking forward to 28 Years Later? It looks fantastic!
Like seeing you present the video. I read a comment saying they were more engaged seeing you. I find your videos engaging regardless, but sort of agree with that comment as well.
Yeah mount wheather is a central plot point in the 100s second season! And yes I absolutely can’t wait for 28 years later, it looks fantastic.
Thanks for watching!
@Swell-Films Smashing! I love The 100 and look forward to hearing what you think about 28.
Well done video. Loved this! I wanted to have a new big bad after CRM but didnt know what it could be. I actually love this.
Video idea: something not america centered in the walking dead. For example how the other global superpowers faced the apocalypse, potentially hostile, (russian army remnants/government, North korea, china) forces? I just thought it'd be cool
Until the shows offer anything hinting at other countries and their militaries then I think it's safe to say that what happened in America is safe to guess as to what happened to the rest of them. I hope we get to see more from the military.
Yeah I’m curious if any other governments managed to withstand the wildfire virus and how they are treating their people
Itd be so cool to have an episode in north korea. Imagine what that would look like decades later in twd universe.
@@Bedbug451 North Korea would definitely be interesting because of how strict and on lockdown everything already is
Amazing video Ty!! I’ll play the video and listen to your vids while cleaning or working out!
Appreciate it mate!
@@Swell-Films of course man!! have you done a video on how the military fell in Atlanta? Again amazing videos!
Instantly liked this video with how well you connect so many TWD pieces. You really did your homework!
Thanks so much mate!
Your channel deserves millions
Too kind!
I like your idea of the endgame arc. I always figured that's how the comics were going to end. Rick takes over the Commonwealth, and after a period of many years, the Commonwealth incorporates so much territory from other communities that it essentially becomes the new United States, with Rick being it's President. Then the old Federal government returns, expecting to be welcomed back with open arms, but would have to fight a Civil War against the Commonwealth instead. Old President vs. New President.
In a weird way a part of me I almost hopes they don’t address it, the mystery of what it could be/ or what did happen to the government is more interesting than learning what actually happened. But, if the writers have some like super interesting and good idea, than that’s cool too. It’s kind of like how the virus started, I wish they would have just left that up to viewer interpretation. Lmk what you think.
Really great video btw.
Honestly you’re not wrong, mystery is a huge aspect to the horror of this universe, although if they did address it, I wouldn’t be disappointed haha
When was there ever a diffinitive answer on the cause of the virus in twd universe? I know Robert kirkman has said space spores before but i didnt think that was cannon diffinitively.
@@kelsey2333 perhaps my wording could use a tweak or two. I thought in the spin off the world beyond it was like implied or some thing that the French started it or like first dealt with it.
I think a good theory would be that the President of America simply went to get milk when the outbreak started.
Since anyone who does turns into a zombie, the VIP bunkers would not last long since most of the government VIPs are very elderly. In our world, these top Senators are mostly in their 70s and 80s. Those people would be having heart attacks in the bunker and coming back as walkers. I bet the President died trapped inside a safe room in a bunker as it was overrun with walkers.
Ty upload! Going on lunch!
Ok what beautiful story does he have for us toda.. HOLY HELL HE IS REAL!
lol always enjoy the videos and like that you're switching things up a bit🍻
Haha appreciate you watching mate!
Imagine a spin off that tracked the collapse of the government?
A gold mine AMC refuses to tap
This reminds me of the Revolution tv show, that when all the factions that took over the us after the balckout when tensions were high between them, the US govermet remerged to take over them
"The Goverment" could be nice enemy to Rick's group for final spin-off with everyone, something like season 12, since there's not much left of CRM to be villains
A silent and absent president suddenly sounds less like a dereliction or threat and more like a blessing.
Honestly? Would love a mini series of the president and other people getting to the bunker as an intro and the rest of it be of their life in the bunker or whenever they are watching the outside world and seeing the events and drama that take place in the bunker during said time. Would be a cool little mini series. I honestly think a cool scenario for the government coming out of the bunker would be similar to some vaults in fallout where either resources ran out, or rather in this case, in fighting. Some people wanted to leave but some wanted to stay which led to a fight. The people that wanted to leave not being given the choice to as to keep the people that would stay, secret. In turn the ones wanting to leave decide to sabotage the place so that everyone has no choice, a battle ensues, some people die. However, in the end a good portion make it out and venture into the real world. Sadly though, those many years (up to possibly 50 now) without leaving and no real world training and no real experience with the zombies (let alone the variants popping up, we even had one or two in America) would fall rather fast. It would be karma coming full circle and closing out one of the last vestiges of the old world that will only further usher in the new world.
To answer the message broardcast I think Air force 1 has the facilities to broardcast from the jet used, I am pretty sure it was installed in preparation for nuclear war but can be used in state of emergency event
I know for a fact that this man is a MASSIVE Fallout fan, especially Fallout 3. There have been many references of this game in this video alone, even a Fallout 2 one!
Haha guilty! I’ve been on quite the fallout binge lately
@Swell-Films hehe I figured, this entire video took inspiration from the Enclave storyline, and you did it perfectly, it would be extremely interesting to see this in TWD. Can't wait to see you play New Vegas
I don't think it's that far-fetched that Mount Weather or Raven Rock fell to a walker attack from within. They could have been studying a walker, and it got loose, or someone bit and they didn't check well enough, or someone died in their sleep and came back.
Your endgame theory makes complete sense and I agree that the New United States could exist especially since both the Commonwealth and the Civic Republic were liberated and are working together by the end of the ones who live
I’m loving these government/military focused videos!
If I were to guess the president and his staff were or are living in Raven Rock or some other installation (maybe in Colorado or Hawaii?)
But I wouldn’t be surprised if they are in hiding, slowing rebuilding the US military, waiting For the Exact right time to take the US back.
Imagine we see a shot in some future show of the ocean with fog, it clears and we see a massive U.S. Fleet slowly sailing to the United States with aircraft Carriers, destroyers, Cruisers etc. it cuts to black and we hear someone say: “Mr President, we’re Home.”
And also I was also thinking Operation NOAH. What if the government is in Space and will come back from a space station.
One of those two I’d love to see the president and the US government again. I think it would be so awesome.
I literally watch the show with my husband (my husband hasnt seen all of the show yet and as we watched , I say,
" Damn Ty should do an environmental storytelling video on this scene," lol
My husband is like, who's Ty😂
Love the videos❤
Lol whos ty is funny. He thought you were talking about someone you know in person probably 😂
@kelsey2333 he was confused lol but not anymore. lol, I just showed him😆
Imagine seeing obama as a walker
That's an Question i wonder with each Leader of an Nation in TWD honestly
They either come back to retake the country by force like the Enclave or they are all dead and their underground bunkers are occupied by raiders akin to the Russian goverment in the Metro series
There was an episode of tales of the walking dead where it was like 30+ years in the future, I can’t recall right now but some governmental entity had dug a huge canyon in the middle of the us and anything west of it was unclaimed land.
Rick and Michonne may have finished off the CRM, but there are still many factions of the CRM, around the world. They may have gone underground to pop up, stronger, one day soon, in one of the spin offs. That part of The Ones Who Live where Beale was talking to Rick about the secrets of the crm, I feel there is much more than we (as viewers) know.
That exactly what I was thinking where is the president in this universe I think my theory is that he’s in Greenland or Alaska since the two possible safe spots for the president to be safe and be in a secure area
Alaska would be an interesting place to explore in this universe in general, I’d bet there are tons of colony’s up there so maybe you’re onto something!
@@Swell-Films they certainly have the fuel, to keep things going, plus the winter would be a good time to go Walker clearing, knocking down the rather grotesque popsicles,
Generally Icy areas would probably be perfect for this as it would naturally significantly slow down walkers that are outside at all times making the entire area relatively safe.
the other point I would make, is you already had to be a different person to survive in Alaska, even before the Turn
@ Well let's not underestimate the adaptability of humans when push comes to shove, it truly is incredible what we can achieve even with barely any prior knowledge if it's the only choice we have.
Brilliant ideas, id probably guess they did like you said hid underground. But I'd bet after a year or two things would have probably broken down for them too. Having shelter underground is one thing but surviving is a totally different ball game. One food that would run out fasr depending how many are living under there. Water, power, power struggles living in thst sort of isolation would drve up tensions and metal health beyond bad. Great video.
A secret offshore oil rig, perhaps?
interesting overview of series with the thesis of what and if. As in other zombie phrases, why not the government and the president went to the bunkers, but they fell because they were sloppy and the virus goes through the air. one part in the beginning goes to your hand in the sense of the chain of command of the military and civilian authorities, but why would the president be protected when settlements with survivors fell into stupid situations later as the TWD franchise unfolded.
I love the Raven rock pick being that of my favourite game Fall out 3 the weird thing is by the latter stages of Fear it really felt more like a Fall out series than a TWD series lol 😅
Video idea walking dead universe timeline explained. Love Ty ❤
I personally think the president is dead, probably a walker in a bunker somewhere, and I think it probably happened pretty early on. I figure it happened one of two ways.
1: An upset staff or secret service member learned that his family were blown up in Cobalt, and he killed the pres.
2: Someone couldn't take the pressure and the devastation Cobalt was wreaking, so they offed themselves... without shooting themself in the head. They turned, and the bunker became overran pretty quickly.
Great video
I’ve had the same theory, it would have been epic if General Beale was still getting orders from the remnants of the US government, OR if as bad as he was, was the last line of defense holding the gov back from wiping everyone out on the surface
I realize now that in your episode about the invasion at the supermarket that the blood and bandages at the med camp could be wounded from the second American civil war
I feel like I recall something in the comics talking about areas where the government is of had some presence in the apocalypse.
A lot of the issue with showing how the government fell apart is that it requires unheard of levels of incompetence.
The military would have won but, it has to fail for the show to happen. So if they show someone fail to stop the walkers, how would that person be respected or capable enough to lead anything.
So Great to SEE YOU‼️
🙌💎
Thanks for the Excellent Video‼️

It would be interesting to think of the U.S. government hiding underground in a Vault-Tec style bunker.
They fled to a large oil rig off the west coast.
Enclave here why isn’t your video feed working?
It’s possible that someone was infected or naturally died inside the bunker, leading to an underground city of the dead
Idk, thinking about the ways settlements have fallen apart when suddenly hit with an outbreak, the idea of a bunker type setup lends itself to one in the worst way with all its corridors and passageways and blind rooms one could be trapped in. I think the gov wouldn't have lasted long after the outbreak, but I kinda like the idea of exploring it in some form
If you have ever read the “one second after” series you will learn that the govt in that world has many bunkers all connected by underground tunnels
If some president just showed up everyone would be like "Yo, who's this?" And ignore them lol hahahah
Not if they show off their nukes lol
All i know about human nature is that any government that rides anything like this out in bunkers would be best to let those on the surface form their own government and seek to rejoin once it blows over. You can't just expect to ride out the apocalypse in relative safety and comfort then come and try to take what was built and defended by those people's hard work, suffering and even deaths. If you want to go that route you might as well glass the surface of the entire continent and come out once the radiation clears otherwise you're going to be walking into a viper's nest where literally EVERYONE ELSE will have a bone to pick with you.
My guess is that they all died or fractured and went their own ways. In Fear we see that it takes awhile for military to learn about bites/scratches causing death/turning, let alone that dying naturally also causes turning.
One environment that you should look into is the School from season 2 when SHEIN went to get the medical supplies for Carl with that other guy
In an alternate time line POTUS and Tobias are knocking em back in some huge underground bunker.
I rather listen to these than watch. Because these videos are good bed time stories. Unfortunately videos are too short so I never fall for a sleep.
I think I say this as a common sentiment that we would rather see you narrate these videos only with your voice. It doesn’t feel right when you are present in the video, It’s hard to explain. Anyway these videos are great man!
Damn, if only there could have been a fully fleshed out prequel series to TWD that would last several seasons which explored the breakdown of society...
Thankfully, Dead in the Water is probably the best piece of media from the franchise outside of the first TWD season and gives us a better glimpse of this in, what, 60 minutes?
That would make for an interesting story line!
Imagine if the US government did an Enclave like in Fallout.
Nice use of Dick Richardson
The government is gone, most probably would have abandoned their post during the initial outbreak to be with their families like we saw with Dr. Jenner. The scientist left the rest, tried to break out later on or ended it.
Your research is excellent. Your conjecture is rational. Your editing and presentation is wonderful. There’s a need for this kind of channel. You’re doing great. I was just thinking about where the President was just last night.
My only real suggestion is keep going and keep fiddling with the format
I just finished Ones who Live, there’s a definite need for analysis.
Do it up
That’s so kind mate thank you so much!
I think they probably held out for a good while. But the Walking Dead universe was genuinly so brutalized by the outbreak that I dont think they could survive internal strife while isolated for so long.
The bunkers are probably still sealed, filled to the brim with walkers who havent seen the sun in 2 decades.
Those bunkers are self sufficient. Mount weather can maintain the government for decades. Along with Raven Rock and probably more facilities that we don’t know about. The CRM managed to maintain supplies and they were just a section of the national guard.
i know that. Thats why I said it was internal strife that caused their demise. The amount of places that fell due to people fighting is massive. And theres also the increased tension from the fact that they're the ones who bombed the cities
Love the fallout 3 pics getting used!👌
I'd genuinely watch a miniseries about the president surviving the outbreak and then having to deal with the people around him no longer giving a shit about his authority as over the course of weeks, months etc they start to recognise there is no government anymore therefore there is no president anymore and he is literally Just Some Guy
I figured they all died in the bunkers
Totally possible
@Swell-Films like I can totally see the president dying during a failed mission to escort them out of DC or like failed coups in the shelters
in season 2 of fear Strand also gets in contact with an astronaut. maybe the government went to space when it happened?
Get this man a million subscribers already
He cooked fr
Haha too kind!
