In this video I introduce psychophysics and explain the difference between the absolute threshold and the difference threshold (or just noticeable difference). I also discuss the difficulties of measuring our sensitivity to stimulation and provide a simple demonstration of Weber's Law, which is that the difference threshold relates to proportions of change rather than amounts of change.

He is so handsome; I can watch him forever thanks by the way.
You're welcome and thanks for watching!
exactly
Still helpful until this year, and for many more years to come. It reinforces learning as well, since the professor/lecturer is quite a looker. As a graduate student of clinical psych who is doing advanced readings and study, this video makes me more interested in this particular topic in Development of Psychological Thought. Thank you, @PsychExamReview
You're welcome!
You are the only person who makes me understand Psychology topics. Thanks a ton. I will be glad if u make a video on Weber and Fechner laws.
Glad I can help you to understand!
Weber's Law, Fechner's Law, Steven's Power Law, & Signal Detection Theory please!
Thank you for posting these videos! I have a psych exam on Fridays and its been so hard to keep motivated with remote learning....watching videos helps me absorb the info so much better and after watching these I feel like I have a better grasp on the material

One of the best Psychology lectures. Great. Thanks sir. Very natural way to teach and talk. I also love the natural backgroun. Great Idea sir. I do not like all other tutorials that look like Formal classrooms.
I'm glad you're enjoying the videos and my approach to teaching! Thanks for commenting!
How easy you made this! I can't explain how much this was bothering me. Thank you so much. Take LOVE.

Thanks, I'm glad you're finding it helpful!
BTW just curious to know which book were you holding?
Sir do u have any vedio on different methods of psychophysics (method of limit, constant stimuli)
I don't have any more videos on this topic since it isn't usually covered in detail in intro classes but I'll think about making some more in-depth videos in the future!
@@PsychExamReview that would be a great help.
@@PsychExamReview Sir I wanted to ask this question too. If you make a video on these topics it would be really helpful. Also can you please suggest a book for preparing this topic for detailed question?
@@alwaysbehappy3388 I don't have a specific textbook recommendation for methods in psychophysics, but for a more detailed course on sensation and perception, I really enjoyed Stuart Anstis's lectures from UCSD, available here: podcast.ucsd.edu/watch/wi12/psyc102wi12
@@PsychExamReview thanks a lot!
This was so helpful! Thank you.
You're welcome!

You're welcome!

You're welcome!
I'm here because our professor want us to make an essay about this and he hasn't taught anything for the past 2 months since our virtual class on September.
Hope this can help, let me know if you have any questions!
Hi! Do you know is there a possibility for human to become a cyclope in future and why do we have two eyes? My assignment is about this question and I would be very happy if you can answer. :)
The main benefit of having two eyes (besides having a backup should one be damaged) is that it enhances our depth perception. I explain this in the later part of this video: ruclips.net/video/Qr_yBDMd1Z8/видео.html
thank you!!!!!!!
You're welcome!
Beautiful lecture but its not audible .....or I would say its below absolute threshold sir..
Haha, thanks, and yeah the audio quality for some of my earlier videos is not ideal, sorry about that!
wow
your videos really helped me with psychophysics as in my class i felt like retarded... every word was new to me but you made it easier i even made notes.
btw... what was the name of the book you were holding if you dont mind me asking :)
I'm glad to hear it was helpful, the book is a psychology guide I've written called Master Introductory Psychology, you can find an Amazon link with more information in the video description box. The book was written as the basis for this video series, which covers all the same topics.
God hes so hot
