So I got a new phone with AI assist. I told AI my interests and asked what podcast I should listen to. It suggested this one and it wasn't wrong. I've laughed, I've cried, I've been educated and enlightened. Great job! 👏👏👏

I’VE BEEN LISTENING SINCE 2018 these ladies got me through a horrible, horrible time in my life and to finally be able to see them as they talk to me means so fucking much. I’ll be turning this on to watch as I drink my morning coffee from now on.

I teach second semester nursing students and we watch 5B in class when we cover the HIV content. It's so important for my students to see, not only, the early days of the AIDS crisis but also that nurses have the power to make changes for the better. All of the nurses that started the unit are such an amazing inspiration and I am proud to be following in their footsteps.

I worked as a CNA in a Denver hospital in the early nineties. I remember clearly the one AIDS patient I encountered did have a hazard sign. I was 19 and freaked out by my superiors. How horrible for that person.

22:06 the woman in the Poll taxing video- the receipt was from 1960. The only way some black people could vote was by paying this tax. The tax was eliminated with Voting Rights Act in 1965.

but Georgia's was a murder? It just so happened to be of an important civil rights activist so she leaned more into the telling of that part of his life. I love that they're adding in the unsung hero stories of people that we should know more about
