- Second day of the Trifecta Weekend in Bedřichov, and the last long race of the 2024 season - over 20k 🥳
Not going to lie, after the first day and the Super & Sprint courses, I felt quite tired, but what I lacked in the physical department was more than compensated for by my mental setup. Earning my 5x Multitrifecta medal the previous day left me feeling fantastic and I was genuinely looking forward to just enjoying this one and letting the experience fully sink in!
Only downside? The weather - again. While it was slightly better than during Saturday’s portion of the races, it was still another freezing cold day, especially after the water crossing. But in my mind, I was already at my happy place - a hot shower back at the accommodation with some comforting, warm, and delicious food in my stomach 🍲
Race Details:
🗺️ Location: Ski Resort Bedřichov 142, 468 12 Bedřichov, Czechia
🌦️ Weather Conditions: Cloudy, mild wind, and temperatures at around 6°C
👟 Running Distance: 22.2 km
🗻 Elevation Gain: 740m
🪜 Course Obstacles: 31
📷 Course Highlight: Without question, completing the Olympus for the second time this weekend. I would argue that this obstacle is my proverbial nemesis - I know I can do it, I should be able to consistently do it, yet I often fail for no clear reason. So, ringing the bell again on Sunday felt like flying high in my mind 🪽
After crossing the finish, I felt fantastic - tired, but fantastic! As is often the case, mindset is key to so many accomplishments, and going into this one with pure excitement translated, without a doubt, to one of the best experiences I’ve had on a Spartan course.
With one last race to go in 2024 and the hardest part behind me, a sense of accomplishment was slowly starting to creep into my mind. I found myself subconsciously reflecting on the incredible journey this year has been, despite all the setbacks 🩹
Pomáz will be the final location for me this year, and I am sure it will be emotional. See you in three weeks!
