I'm not sure that an SQ7 would even get near the X5 M on track or road. 575hp, 760Nm Petrol V8 vs 435hp 900Nm Diesel V8, and they both weigh more or less the exact same. The deficit in horsepower is too great, not to mention acceleration, 4.8 (SQ7) vs 3.9 (X5 M - from Car and Driver). A powerful Q7 won't ever beat an M Division X5 unfortunately, but it is a great step for diesel engines, alongside BMW's quad-turbo 3.0L I6. A better comparison would be the current X5 M50d, or the facelift/next-gen that has the quad turbo instead of tri turbo diesel.
BeefPlays I don't think it's meant to be a track version. The 'S' badge has always been more of a power upgrade than a race-ready overhaul, which the 'RS' badge does alot better.
KGSVA comparing bmw x5 m nd audi sq7 does not make sense.....x5 m has performance tires which do no gud offroad....nd besides x5 is a 5 seater while the audi seats 7......nd interior wise audi reigns supreme.............

KGSVA SQ7 has better tech, is more comfortable and looks alot better, overall better car.
