    I know you guys want a video of the Turbine Duke. So do I. Unfortunately I got my copy of the Dukes only a day before I went onto a 7 day trip flying and thus simply had limited time. I meant to create a Turbine Duke video, but wanted to create it last after the two other Dukes so that I would have the most experience with the plane by the time I start recording something as things are going really fast in the Turbine version due to the huge power of the engines.
    I started recording it, was halfway through the flight - and then had a power outage at home. I didn't have the time to record another one so it'll have to wait until I'm back home again towards the end of next week. Sorry guys.

    Brings back retro sim-memories… I learned radio-nav from a licensed IFR private pilot in 1989-90, using (yes, laugh now…) FS-II from SubLogic on an Atari ST… 🥸
    I know, that sim was really rudimentary, but actually enough to grasp the very idea of VORs, ADF or NDB - even ILS. Progressing through sims until MSFS 2020 I still imagine my “instructor’s” (actually studio musician colleague) calm voice as my… PM, let’s say.
    As basic as it was, still a profound intro to IFR to me - Which is also why I highly appreciate Emi’s modern day efforts in sharing everything he does. Humble thanks…!

    Always big fun flying steam gauge equipped aircraft. I learned to fly in the 80’s and even though I fly G1000 equipped aircraft in RL from time to time, I never got used to the glass cockpit and I’ll go for a classic 6 pack aircraft whenever I can. Even for IFR flying. I must be getting old 😅
    Kudos to Black square for this beautiful aircraft!

    • @juliashenandoah3965
      @juliashenandoah3965 25 дней назад +1

      No you are not getting old - you have a common sense of STYLE and design! ;) Because these ugly smartphone screens in cockpits that look like all gauges removed and glued an iPad to the cockpit instrument panel instead look and feel all the same. Airplanes equipped with it (no matter if it´s a C172 or a King Air) all literally get the same boring look and feel inside. Airplanes have nothing unique and personal anymore when equipped with these uniform glass screens. Imagine a world where all cars from small hatchback to SUV to super sports car all getting their speedometer and other indicators and instruments ripped out, and afterwards getting a smartphone glued to the dashboard with an ugly year 2000-operating system speedometer app running.......
      No one is doing that atrocity with cars! :D
      So why is this enforced so hard with all airplanes?

    I bought the MSFS 2020 only for those two/three aircraft. I still use the good old FSX, and I also fly in XP11 and I have many, many aircraft in DCS that I really enjoy. But I didn't wanted to mess around with a fourth flight sim. But this/those aircraft have finally won me over. As a true aviation enthusiast there is simply no way around those aircraft and the entire "experience package" that comes with them. I can't wait to fly this proper prop 70's style, just like you did in this vid :)

    Literally a time machine. Takes me back to flying with my dad in his Mooney 231 Turbo, another late 70s-early 80s hotrod. Also with then state of the art KNS 81. Navigation was a very different animal in those days before GPS. Greatly appreciate your use of less than ideal weather, as most video evaluators just set ideal conditions. The one thing that flight simulators so luxuriously allow us to bypass is the need for proper judgement... IFR ratings and navigation equipment notwithstanding, I doubt that we'd have chosen to fly in those conditions if given the choice. Takeoff with GA aircraft in thise days srraight into the IFR soup when icing is down there inside the first 10000 feet is just rolling the dice. Thanks for the great review!!!

    How’s the elevator sensitivity? I’ve got the Milviz 310 and the sensitivity on that elevator is unflyable, even with deadzones, shallower curves, null zones etc
    I really love this aircraft but worried about that. Is it similar to the TBM850? I’ve got that and it’s awesome in terms of elevator handling

    • @A330Driver
      @A330Driver  25 дней назад +1

      I'd say it's similar to the TBM, yes. Not quite the same in terms of handling of course, but similar in terms of how well it can be flown. It's well controlable and the controls themselves are well balanced. I think you will be happy with it.

    Die Navigation mit dem KNS 81 ist praktisch eine Art "Bullseye Navigation" und würde somit auch mit Punkten die nicht Teil von offiziellen V-Airways sind funktionieren. Ist das korrekt? Man braucht nur ein VOR mit DME. Das Problem ist nur, dass Punkte, die nicht direkt auf einem Radial liegen, mit abnehmender Entfernung vom "Bullsey" immer schwerer zu bestimmen wären.
    PS: Kann man da tatsächlich dezimal Grad, angeben?. Das würde die Bestimmung eines Punktes abseits eines Radials offensichtlich zehnmal genauer machen. Minute 54:34 hat die Frage geklärt.

    • @A330Driver
      @A330Driver  27 дней назад

      I'd say it's bigger. But in simulators it's always hard to judge. For instance the 737 looks really huge in VR in MSFS, much bigger than it really is.
