The first thing I like to do when someone signs to the youth academy is to see if they are better suited to a different position. Quite often you can quickly bump up a player's rating (and value) by changing their position and it means they're morely likely to reach their potential. Depending on how long I've had my save, I normally base it on their starting rating so say anything below 60 and then later on, anyone less than 65. Another tip is, it can be hard to make a player take a smaller role in the team like Sporadic or Rotation if their rating is higher than players around them. I tend to keep more first team quality players than I need to make sure youth players get given a small role and then loan out the first team players I don't need to guarantee the youth player more game time without upsetting the squad.
I've also had a youth player that had no special potential but grew fast. In 3 seasons he went from nothing to potential to be special. So how fast they grow may also have an impact.
This is definitely a bug, its near impossible for a player with less than 80 potential to get potential to be special, just by playing loads of games. The game locks these things, its just a matter of luck. I have players who literally played every game and had very good performances while everything else is great, only to drop their potential after the next season starts.
@@aries666dc no it has happened to me a lot of times... ig it only happens when those players perform truly exceptionally like scoring 30 goals and most importantly have a good rating throughout the season which is the most difficult thing
Honestly ever since the youth team thing was put into FIFA, I've gone by age and value. Their value is an indicator of what their current level is. So if I come across a player with a high potential range and a current value in the millions, that players current rating is probably in the 60s and I'll immediately snap them up, especially if they're 15 or 16.
Value is a great indicator. But I find a lot of the highest value players ($3M+) often have low ceilings. Some of my best prospects have had the lowest value but high potential, so I also look for the 15-yo with 80+ potential bottom end and use the sofifa calculator to see his true position. It’s an especially great way to find future all-time strikers.
@@rayX98 you can tip each stat in there and it will show you what overall rating would have on every position. E.g. you get a cm with a rating of 58 but due to the calculator you see said player would have 67 as a winger. Hope this helped

I decided to make him a first team player during the second season. He was a number 8 and had high agility, balance, dribbling and long shots. After 2to3 seasons he was like 84 and an assist leader, always scoring long range finessed shots. He was my pride and joy as i saw him earn badges such as playmaker, technical dribbler, long shot taker and solid player. He had high stamina too. I was at the club for about 4 seasons and leaving in the 5th season was tough coz he had to be left behind. As i always become bored with a team after I have made it really good and won everything.
The best tip to sign high profile young players, is going into the "Free agents" every time a new season starts, and look through all positions. I have found several gems this way, including a 85 rated Belgium striker, that reached 96 OVR, and a 86 English left back, that reached 94 OVR. I also found this was a great way to make money to fund big transfers: you sign some free agents with a 78-80 OVR, send them out on loan a few seasons, and sell them for 30 Mil+
I once scouted Japan in an old save and they brought back a centre back, I simmed loads of games and I didn't realise they were playing him on the wing. When I did, I tried changing him to a winger and he grew 5 ratings to 86
If you send them on loan then call back straight away it’ll change make another save so if it doesn’t you just repeat till you get Potential to be special keep in mind if he goes to exciting prospect save that then loan again next loan will get the Has potential to be special hope this helped
I've had my Juventus career since FIFA23 came out. I've scouted general players, from around the world, until my fifth or sixth season. Now I send them to specific countries, with focus on specific postions, to find the "new" so and so. Sent one to Bulgaria, to look for the new Berbatov, for example.
The thing I do with all players, not just youth is changing the development plan from to balanced to something different. Also, in Fifa23, if you list a youth prospect available for loan, 100% you will get a loan offer, so use that as well.
I find when scouting you can tell a lot by their value, if the overall range is 55-70 which is good but the value is 100k, forget it they have bottomed out. But a value of 2 million, hello, we got one!
Another route is to search for free agents aged between 16-21 right at the start of the season before you even begin customizing the club. With each passing season you’ll find ridiculous players, some cfs rate up to 91 at 17 years of age. The system is broken, but free agent pool right at the start of a new season is one of the best ways to get quality players for free quickly.
Italy has given me the best keepers for years now Croatia also s tier for midfielders Argentina in 2023 is decent for strikers Portugal is also very consistent especially wingers cams and full backs FIFA 21 Sweden and Estonia were unreal so far that doesn’t to be the case For me in 23 west African countries aren’t as good as previous years Japan can give you some decent wingers as well For me Croatia cm/cam Argentina st/cam/wingers/cm Portugal winger/fbs Italy gk/cb/cdm England is also good for nearly everything except gks for me And it kind of makes sense look at previous balón dor winners what countries they’re from and what positions they played. Maybe I’m hyper analysing If you scout those for countries you can definitely get 90+ in every position
In my playthroughs, I've found excellent GKs in the United States. But I agree with your assessment of Japan having some really good wingers. England is great for finding pretty much everything else, but I struggle to find decent strikers there. Argentina and Mexico have come in clutch for me for strikers. My current youth GK is American, 16 years old (found him as a 14 year old), 81-94 potential, already promoted to the senior club, and I start him every other match for playing time. The starting GK I have is 82 rated and 35 years old so his rating is going down. The youth GK is now 77 rated and still improving. But your list is giving me some good ideas on where to look for other positions, as I'm really struggling to find midfielders, especially LM. My starting LM is 65 rated and since he's 33 years old, his rating is going down. Sadly, I've had terrible luck finding free agents, or any that are transfer listed that , when I place them on the short list, I find they're "unwilling to leave their current club" which seems to be a glitch? Everyone else is in the 75-84 range so my LM is a glaring weakness. And if I need to sub the LM out, I have to change from a 4-4-2 to 5-3-2 to accommodate the substitute.
The youth system is nice but I find that there are far too many young ‘free agents’ with high ratings after the first season, making it too easy and a bit unrealistic to make a strong squad with a weaker team for example in the championship
I get that too, and it's annoying sometimes when other teams don't pick them up from the free agents. There's always a Benzema regen that I find in free agents that's like 92 - 94 rated, so I can't really train them up if they have bad skill moves or weak foot.
@@MrFreakybeaver I saw Benzema’s regen be at 91 rated at the age of 16. Signed him, and he became a 98 eventually before I had to retire. Good ol Hugo Leonard.
Know what position your player should play in. It has happened several times and actually just 2 weeks ago when is changed a players position from cdm to RW. As soon as those weeks past and I was ready to change. They increased with 11 overall ratings instantly. Also change players position so they can grow faster in another position
Send the scouts out on the 2nd, 4th and 6th of each month, that way you can reload the 1st of the month academy report if the players drop in potential, you can then reload each report if no decent players have been found, if you find a good player on the 2nd, save game on the 3rd, then proceed onto the 4th, rince and repeat.
I got this player in my youth academy when I started and I called him up to the first team and he led the league in scoring and went up over 10 overalls in one year
I usually start scouting in the usual sort of countries first (England, Brazil, Spain etc.), but after about 2 seasons I go to some more obscure countries (Finland, Bolivia, India etc.), just to keep it fresh and interesting
He does have some good tips my tip is play 2nd or reserve sides using your older players or youngsters in the europa league, conference league and domestic cups. My save with Sheffield united i finished 8th but still qualified to the conference league in group C with Randers, Trabsonzbor, pogon easy group.
One big thing that i dislike is I like going for physically strong players because sometimes you can put them in multiple positions depending on what their strongest attributes. But it seems I get a lot of 5”5-5”9 players majority of the time. Also sometimes the loan system doesn’t work great(typical ea) where teams that the player simply wouldn’t get that much game time always seem to be interested

@@athanasioskosmas3915 he became my first 11 cf but after some time i stopped playing fifa to play some other games with my friends my opinion is he could easily become better than kane at an overall 90+
I noticed at least a 2 times now where when I’m viewing the youth scout lists, players with high potential and maybe higher overall range had huge values compared to vs other players with similar ranges. Talking a market value of 500k vs 2m before signing the player. Age is important too I think in that but I signed one CB at 17yo with like 63overall
I scouted in Italy for a technicaly gifted played and found deniel rizzi a player with 82 to 94 potential And reached 97 at 22 but sadly I deleted the save. And Mr Rizzi was never Tobe seen again
My personal tactic, get as many potential to be special or exciting prospect players. Sign great potential players ONLY if they have decent stats in a specific part that you need. Then do the loan glitch on them. I loan out the most promising players until they reach the mid 70s. Eventually i will have like 10 players on loan, and i wait for all of these 10 to get back to me with mid 70s rating and if they still keep their potential to minimum exciting prospect. Then i create a whole team sheet just for these players. I play them for cup games or league games against weaker clubs. If you do this right, within 3 or 4 seasons, you'll have 2 very badass line ups. First team with players in their 90s and 2nd team with players in 80s with potential to reach 90s
What I do with young player has really good core skills for the position that I want them to play in, I will train them to play in a different position...such as a young CB I'd train to be a full back and then change their position and straight away put them on a Centre Back training program but not change their position for a good while...this helps to get them to gain stats in the core stats for the position you want but their overall won't go up (until you change position) and you can basically have an absolute beast of a player on your hands!
This also helps to buff out some of the other stats, whilst training as a full back their pace and acceleration are going up and then when you do CB training their strength is going up
I normally give them out on loan with an option to buy, then cancel the loan at the end of the season. This normally helps develop them faster than if they were in my team. I had a goal keeper go from 69 overall to 80 just in his 1st season on loan to a belgium team
I just downloaded 22 because it's free with Xbox game pass, and I wanted to pull players from a bunch of different nations so i sent a scout to Estonia on a random decision. My scout brought back, in 3 months, 5 players with Exciting Prospect or PTBS potential. I was shocked. They're all either on loan or in my starting line up and I'm in my 3rd season. He wasn't even a great scout. He was like 4*/3*(experience/judgement). Estonia is OP
Issue I have is finding full backs who are fast, the only fullbacks I tend to find have no pace at all and are always better suited at CB who are all under 6 foot lol
I am using AFC Richmond on Championship. I got 3 or 4 youth player promoted into senior team. I only loaned my player if they're aren't playing well....
I've ended up with six youth goalkeepers. Way too many, but one or two will demand to go in the first team squad when they have 50 ratings, so they can go, I can promote better ones and send them out on loan, and I'll keep progressing the rest in the academy. One of them will surely be better than my 83 rated first team goalie who lets in a howler every game.
If you play less minutes with a youth player or any player, there's a way around the match rating. What I do is bring on a youth player that has potential to be special in the last 5-10 minutes and within that time that he's on, I do my best to score a goal. Just one goal is enough to boost his match rating to over 8/10 where as if you start with him and score a couple, the rating could still be lower than 8/10. Basically, the later you score a goal the better because no matter how he's done all game, that late goal boosts his match rating big time. I've adore hat tricks with players and they've had like 7.8/10 or lower but if that hat trick was scored towards the end of the game then the rating would be over 9/10. So the best way around it is to score late goals. Once I had a starting eleven full of 17-18 year olds born in 2005. Real players. Their potential wasn't that good but if you keep loaning them and recalling them, their potential goes up and down. But saving it before recalling them until their potential goes up is what I do. I see an exciting prospect, I loan him and recall him, he could go to showing great potential but I leave and come back until it shows potential to be special and once all those real life 2005 born players that I have get the potential to be special status, I am easily able to get them all above 91+ even though their current rating would be in the high 50s to the high 60s with the rare ones in the low 70s like Nusa and Güler
started a career mode where I moved all the best teams into the premier league. all 4 divisions, and moved the MN united loons to div 4, and am working my way up. I call it the super league. I can't sign anyone from +2 divisions up and if a big team wants to sign my stars I have to negotiate.
I keep the minimum size squad. Usually only 3cbs, 1gk 1 striker, a few wingers, 2 fullbacks and then any other spaces I keep for midfielders. I send academy players out on loan as soon as they're 16 to weak leagues. Often they go up +10 in their frost season on loan.
Great vid! Haven't played FIFA 23 yet, but is it still the case that a youth player's potential will significantly decrease if you promote them late on in the season?
I think that’s because the game calculates the overall rating of each player from the whole season to determine the Dynamic potential i.e. bad season = constant/drop, good = constant, excellent = go up If the newly-promoted youth player didn’t play / hardly plays, the overall rating won’t be enough to be deemed good, hence the drop
Anything tips on how to know by the initial report if a player's potential will fall closer to the bottom end or top end of the potential range given in the report. Let's say you've got a player that's got a potential range of 71-94...any indicators that show if they will be closer to 71 or 94? Also, does position changes affect their potential?
value is a big thing when it comes to potential, i've tried to figure out the exact ratio of value to potential because i know there are calculators out there for it! defo a point of potential is valued higher than a point of overall, so higher value = higher potential 90% of the time 😁
@@Geografifa Thanks! I wish they would clear it up a bit more, not make it OP, but just add more indicators so we can assess Reports like a real scout would. I've learned so much about the sport with your vids so thanks for that!
@@tysonh424 Easiest way to gauge a player's overall is look at their "value" (their Transfer Market Value). Most of the time a 5/5 Scout will bring players in the $170k-$300k range (these "values" will yield a player round 53-58). The highest value I ever remember getting was in FIFA 20: He was valued at $3.1 Million with an overall of 66.
Value is a primary indicator but needs to be combined with high potential (high 70s-94) since a lot of prospects have low ceilings. But also jump on any 15-year-old with 80+ to 94 potential regardless of value. Oftentimes, they are out of position and with more time to develop in YA, they’ll blossom for you.

I’m a bit late to this, but I’ve found that every time an all-time great player retires, they are essentially reincarnated in a youth player. For example, I have a career where Juventus has a 20 year old 92 overall CF from France. This player is essentially the reincarnation of Benzema. Hope this helps a bit.
Anyone has any tip on how to get good defensive players through the academy. When I scout I always get insane wingers and strikers. Rarely do I get an insane cm or a dm not to mention the cbs and full backs
Go to England for goalkeepers trust me, the amount of careers I’ve got with goalkeepers from scouting is loads and there great players too, Brazil is also great for defenders too
Question for the old FIFA22 users: Does FIFA22 allow promotion (and relegation) in Manager Career mode for lower tier leagues, as an example in Germany, England, etc? Lower tier as in (below league 2) in Germany's or England's 3rd tier leagues? In Germany it's called 3. Liga aka bundesliga 3. Forgot the name of England's 3rd tier league.
Every new season there are bunch of AI generated world class generational players that spawn out of nowhere as free agents. 16,17,18 year olds. You have to be able to find them though. Leave one of your scout criteria as “Promising” and just check every week as soon as the new season starts.

Well done to fifa for constantly giving me top class goalkeepers from my youth. Always wanted 90 rates goalkeepers in my reserves
I did the combos and they worked like magic especially that winger Asia I used Japan and it gave me alot of good players, Brazil too and Belgium
Just started a Maidstone United save with Roy Hodgson as manager. This is a huge help, thank you. Great channel, glad I found it when I did!
Sometimes I find a player projected to reach 89-94 in the academy & then I sign them & they turn into showing great potential
I feel like the country doesn’t make a difference for me.
@@Chuckschwartz Nah, it doesn't really. Just when you want to try and "recreate" a certain player.
@@arcticfirefly5777 thats a fire idea honestly
@@ignasipuigborrell2638 Thanks! Its a different take on Youth academy scouting. To mix it up.
The thing I do with all players, not just youth is changing the development plan from to balanced to something different. Also, in Fifa23, if you list a youth prospect available for loan, 100% you will get a loan offer, so use that as well.
Not if you have too many put up for loan,I have too many and not all of then get offers lol
Got a japenese superstar last year, i always prefer getting rare superkids than the usual 90+ rated kid from England or Germany for example
One thing though. If yoy have an existing prospect and you play him enough he can grow into a potential to be special. Depending on the game time.
Italy has given me the best keepers for years now
Croatia also s tier for midfielders
Argentina in 2023 is decent for strikers
Portugal is also very consistent especially wingers cams and full backs
FIFA 21 Sweden and Estonia were unreal so far that doesn’t to be the case
For me in 23 west African countries aren’t as good as previous years
Japan can give you some decent wingers as well
For me
Croatia cm/cam
Argentina st/cam/wingers/cm
Portugal winger/fbs
Italy gk/cb/cdm
England is also good for nearly everything except gks for me
And it kind of makes sense look at previous balón dor winners what countries they’re from and what positions they played. Maybe I’m hyper analysing
If you scout those for countries you can definitely get 90+ in every position
I don't remember where but I distinctly recall that the nation boosts in FIFA were removed from the youth academy system
I recall hearing the same
The youth system is nice but I find that there are far too many young ‘free agents’ with high ratings after the first season, making it too easy and a bit unrealistic to make a strong squad with a weaker team for example in the championship
Too right, I found what I think is a Pele regen. 81ov at 16... Unreal
@@MrFreakybeaverhow did you find him?
@@MrFreakybeaver got a cb called escobar when he was like 16. Now he's 17/ 18 and 77 rated. Didnt even use training days
5:14 that Rashford shot💀😂
🤣🤣🤣😪
Another fun save I’ve done is a RTG with Wrexham starting in League 2
Doing that right now🔥🔥
1-year loans are also good advice to speed up the junior developing process. The overall skill grows Around +/- 5-10 points per year then.
2 year loan, recall halfway through, normally their potential glitches
Know what position your player should play in. It has happened several times and actually just 2 weeks ago when is changed a players position from cdm to RW. As soon as those weeks past and I was ready to change. They increased with 11 overall ratings instantly. Also change players position so they can grow faster in another position
Send the scouts out on the 2nd, 4th and 6th of each month, that way you can reload the 1st of the month academy report if the players drop in potential, you can then reload each report if no decent players have been found, if you find a good player on the 2nd, save game on the 3rd, then proceed onto the 4th, rince and repeat.
I find that sending a scout to countries in the Balkans i.e. Croatia, Serbia, really helps me find talented midfielders
Do you ever find good players in those places?
@@bricktop. sometimes, yeah. I pulled a 70 rated youth player from Finland in one of my saves
Thank you for all these tips! You really make my career modes better!
He does have some good tips my tip is play 2nd or reserve sides using your older players or youngsters in the europa league, conference league and domestic cups. My save with Sheffield united i finished 8th but still qualified to the conference league in group C with Randers, Trabsonzbor, pogon easy group.
Tip: play the match and when it’s min 80-89 sim to the end and they will get boosted match rating of at leat 1 or 2.
Physically Strong was really overpowered 3 or 4 years ago, that's why they nerfed it making players only get midgets.
I Did Short Term Youth Save With CF montreal in mls and I scouted USA Canada and France And African French speaking nation's as montreal first language is French Canadian
sounds very similar to something i did with Vancouver!
I found a 15 yo 67 rated 92-95 pot player in my first year. My team gen average was 75. It was luck but youth academy really is important
How is this player going?
@@athanasioskosmas3915 he became my first 11 cf but after some time i stopped playing fifa to play some other games with my friends my opinion is he could easily become better than kane at an overall 90+
I noticed at least a 2 times now where when I’m viewing the youth scout lists, players with high potential and maybe higher overall range had huge values compared to vs other players with similar ranges. Talking a market value of 500k vs 2m before signing the player. Age is important too I think in that but I signed one CB at 17yo with like 63overall
I scouted in Italy for a technicaly gifted played and found deniel rizzi a player with 82 to 94 potential
And reached 97 at 22 but sadly I deleted the save.
This also helps to buff out some of the other stats, whilst training as a full back their pace and acceleration are going up and then when you do CB training their strength is going up
I got a cdm with 55 rating and making him a cam made him 70. its +15 rating in 2 weeks. crazy
I normally give them out on loan with an option to buy, then cancel the loan at the end of the season. This normally helps develop them faster than if they were in my team. I had a goal keeper go from 69 overall to 80 just in his 1st season on loan to a belgium team
Could be that if a loan option with buy gives them more playtime over there and canceling at the end of the season gives more high rated player
@@ayushsarkar3526 Yeah, when they're on loan and play constantly, they develop faster than they would if they were in your team
Estonia was op not anymore. Croatia is the new Estonia
Sweden was also very good in 21 and 22
On all the saves Croatia has given me some of the best CM, CAM
so you put playmaker into croatia
Things i find keep the player in the youth academy for as long as possible and play your training drills because sharpness is key
Issue I have is finding full backs who are fast, the only fullbacks I tend to find have no pace at all and are always better suited at CB who are all under 6 foot lol
Yea i have this problem there is always the loan glitch which can give them more time to grow
I got a 6 ft 10 cb with 80 pace😂

@@bricktop. you must be joking hahaha
Scouting gk’s in Argentina and Brazil is fantastic! I have one gk with a potential of 88-94 🥳
are we gonna talk about that shot at 5:17
I am using AFC Richmond on Championship.
I'm not joking i had a 84 rated 16 year old CF
started a career mode where I moved all the best teams into the premier league. all 4 divisions, and moved the MN united loons to div 4, and am working my way up.
Great vid! Haven't played FIFA 23 yet, but is it still the case that a youth player's potential will significantly decrease if you promote them late on in the season?
i believe so! something that 100% needs to be fixed
I think that’s because the game calculates the overall rating of each player from the whole season to determine the Dynamic potential i.e. bad season = constant/drop, good = constant, excellent = go up
If the newly-promoted youth player didn’t play / hardly plays, the overall rating won’t be enough to be deemed good, hence the drop
In the old gen version it still happens so idk about the current gen but it is likely to be the case
I notice value has a lot to do with position as well. Another question i have. I will see a player with 55-75 overall, a high value, and come in at 58....anyway to gauge the overall on a Scout Report? Sorry, I am American and not as Soccer savvy as i need to be.
@@JT-Rebel Highest outfielder I’ve gotten was $4.7. Anything over $4M is rare air, and $3M are gold nuggets. I do save the day before scout returns to reload save until the best prospects emerge … tedious but the rewards are worth the time. 😂

Thank you so much bro I love your content❤❤
the only thing I cant is getting the dynamic potential for a certain former youth player to work xd
….ok I’m going to say this rn…Career Mode has been a total nightmare this year for me….when it comes to potential ESPECIALLY doing a road to glory….a player will score 40 goals and potential either go down or he stops growing in stats next year…..
Not only do I realize there are LIMITED amount of talented players in career mode(real life talents) but the dynamic potential is sooo broken on top of it….
The ratings after playing a game are terrible even if I win 7-0 whether this has an effect on potential or not the form is Poor…
I got bored of FUT and went back to career mode hoping to have fun getting a small team to champions league glory but whether it’s a young player like Pedri or a homegrown talent if the team doesn’t perform outstandingly every year the potential goes down…FOR ALMOST EVERY PLAYER….a player will be 20 and no longer improving🤦🏿♂️

Does FIFA22 allow promotion (and relegation) in Manager Career mode for lower tier leagues, as an example in Germany, England, etc?

Every new season there are bunch of AI generated world class generational players that spawn out of nowhere as free agents. 16,17,18 year olds. You have to be able to find them though. Leave one of your scout criteria as “Promising” and just check every week as soon as the new season starts.

The country they scout in makes sense in real life of course but does it really matter in game? I have just been sending them to random countries for fun in mine.
I usually just scout players in the country I'm managing.
I've been playing regularly for the last 3 years, playing with Roma, Arsenal and RB Leipzig, and i realized that i get a lot of guys from western europe and asia in my default player search, and their stats are not good. Is this because im frm South East Asia? But my teams are in Europe 🤷

I have double amazing squads, fist ovr 92+ and second over 82+, season 26/27. and my transfer badget is 1500M, Profit 1B after selling some major players. I think I will start a channel to share that with career mode lovers. last season I found a young ST player age 19 with free agent and OVR 93! he is generated by the game though not an exciting one. not to mention the 6 players 82+ age 17 to 19 I found them the third season. I get Mbappe (ovr99) in the bench now to give them chance and because the competition is very high. FIFA Career Mode is journey of passion. Ultimate mode is a scam to generate $$

Presumably there is little you can do to improve them quickly whilst they are in the Academy itself aside from their development plan. You can't play them in matches if they are still in the Youth Academy, can you?
What camera is this? It looks like an actual game
It seems u can find great high potential youth in any area I scout a lot in India USA and other countries that aren’t scouted much and find a shit ton of great players specially the USA really gives u over 90 potential quite often.
