seems like a good idea but I have never been in a situation where I've needed one, nearly 11 yrs operating, If I had the chance I would try one but don't think I'd ever buy one? wouldn't be the cheapest I imagine? I am based in Chch

How dit you make the extra hydraulic connexion to the bucket, and how do you open en close it, wich function. I want to attach a Sorting grapple on my r1 rototilt

maybe so but I haven't really seen them do anything that I couldn't do with my 3 toner and tilt bucket. seem like the operators are continuesly tilting or rotating them on simple digout which there is no need to do so. the big fancy gear is not always the best if the operator is no good. I could out dig/trim a lot of guys on brand new gear. this guy could load this easily using a normal setup and not leave anything behind. anyways I'm not trying to have a go, just interested in what's new etc, wouldnt it be putting strain on the maching trying to dig sideways tho?? Cheers

Chris was simply demonstrating the versatility of the Rototilt. There are many situations with the confined work he does that a conventional tilt bucket would be impractical. Any job can be done to a degree; it is the speed and efficiency that makes the money; by working efficiently you can obtain a premium for your time. It is smarter to work less hours for a higher return. He never has a shortage of interesting work and travels throughout the Auckland / Waikato area because of it and commands a premium to do it. This says it all.. Once you have tried one you will never go back.
If you are a good operator a Rototilt becomes an extension of you. Try working with your wrist in a solid cast. This is what a conventional excavator with a tilt is to a Rototilt
Rototilt has been manufacturing for over 30 years and is now sold in over 40 counties. They do not impact on machine warranty. Increasingly in Europe you do not get offered work if you do not have a Rototilt. It will become the norm here as well.
Where are yo based? Drop us a line so we can catch up

what's the point of that bucket?

The Rototilt allows the bucket to attack the pile from virtually any angle and dump into the truck from any angle. You are no longer restricted to pushing or pulling towards you.
The bucket is a 4 in 1, so the operator can go over a pile and clamp it shut, leaving nothing left, where as a normal bucket you must sweep the pile into it.
You can also spread material from inside the bucket, tilt it and pick up a rock or object from one corner without disturbing a large area.
Chris does a lot of tight, confined work. He has been working on the Western link where he can safely and easily operate in much more confined situations than anyone else. The head contractor loves it, to the point they have ordered another Rototilt for the project
In essence, productivity is greatly enhanced, particularly around congested or tricky sites: the more difficult, he greater the productivity increase.
The uses for the bucket are many, the same as what a 4 in 1 does for a skid steer.
The Rototilt is the worlds most proven and popular rotating tilt hitch, with thousands sold every year.
Most contracts in Europe specify a Rotating Tilt Hitch as a prerequisite as the productivity is so much greater than without one.

Would love to know how he finds the weight? I, running a 305.5 with a jb power tilt but would like one of these. Got quoted 27000 though so will have to be next machine

      Hi Ethan,
Chris has never complain of the weight. It is actualy similar weight as a power tilt. You are welcome to get in touch with Chris for genuine feedback. Pleas contact me and I will pass on to you his details 0277013054.
Also when and who quoted you for a Rototilt and what part of the country are you from ?

As a landscaper, that looks like terrible topsoil. Maybe good topsoil looks differrent where you are at?

Very rarely needed piece of kit, You would find it easier to employ a competent operator

Interiors Outlook theres some truth in that but it depends on what youre doing just loding a dumper with soil is not where the rototilt shines. also you have the claw on the back wich is super usefull from time to time. if you were forced to drive a machine with one of these for a year you wouldnt want to go back to not having one, they are expensive and heavy but usefull and mostly a blast to use. it makes it so much more fun!

Are you saying the operator is not competent? It's about efficiency and ability to work in job sites with limited space with only one machine.
