    Hello, can I ask you what is the reference (model) of your plasma cutter and what are the cutting speeds that you apply. thank you very much for the videos, they are great.👍

    Yep.. I watched all of it. I like how you can adjust the pierce settings on screen. I put that directly into the post processor and have to adjust it before creating the G-code or open the g-code in editor and do it on the fly. Makes sense to do it your way if you're switching between metal thinknesses. I might have a look at Mach3 screens again to see if I can add those two perameters into a screen set.

    First of all, thanks for posting this video. Very helpful to a plasma newbie like me. Would you mind sharing your speed rates for the different thickness of steel that you are cutting? I would also like to create a set of toolpaths like you did. UPDATE: Just watched the longer video and got 5 out of 8 toolpaths. If I had to guess for 1.6mm and 2.0mm (you didnt click on those in the video :) I would say around 3600 and 2700. Am I close?

    Could floating Z axis work in GRBL post processor?
    Another question, could I change the Z axis switch to just touch the plate to be cut?

    Hi,
    When you get time can you show how to build the post processor. You showed in this video that you built one. Would be help full to take from start to finish how. Thanks

      Thanks for the comment Michael. I might make a couple showing a project from beginning to cut shape.

      @@Greolt Would be happy to see anything you can show. I had a plasma table make a while ago and the man said to use Cut2d. This was last year and I got busy at work and still have not used. Have a idea how to draw some things. But not quite sure how to get it to the table. He was using Linux CNC. The program you are running is that a better one ?

      @@michaelmisiolek3054 UCCNC is the controller I use and am happy with it.
      Go to www.plasmaspider.com/index.php
      Do your own research and don't be too swayed by the first person who says the programs they use is the only way to go.

    THANKS FOR THE HELP. HAVE YOU USED SHEETCAM ALSO AND CAN COMPARE AGAINST ASPIRE?

    • @Greolt
      @Greolt  3 года назад

      Sheetcam is probably the most popular CAM software for plasma. If you do not already have CAM software and only need it for plasma, then go for Sheetcam. I use Vectric on a range of CNC machines, which I had before building the plasma.

    Hi Greg, are you willing to share your plasma MM post processor and the macros?
    Fingers crossed,
    Robin

    • @Greolt
      @Greolt  3 года назад

      I could do that but it won't be any good to you. It is specific to my plasma. Control software, THC, even to my personal edits of the control software. Macros are written in the language required by the software used.
      You need to understand what your setup needs in the way of gcode. THC requirements. Macro language Etc.
      That is why I have tried to explain the different things I have done with my PP. So that the same principals can be applied to another setup.
