    On the one hand, that looked like a daunting trip. On the other hand, it was spectacular! The rugged, harsh, unforgiving bush combined with the steepness of those hills. Wow! That'd be a nightmare in the rainy season. I'm blown away by this, and I've only watched the drive-in so far!!! I love my Scottish woodlands and glens, but the scenery there is just stunning.

      I've heard the Scottish Highlands are one of the most picturesque areas in the world. Our Australian Alps aren't too bad. Whatever you can get your hands on I say! Thanks heaps for watching Liam. As far as I know, you are still the only commenting Scot on the channel. Cheers mate.😬👍

      Thanks Matt and Leanne. You watched it a few hours after release - I checked what time this was for you, thought it may have been 4AM. ~10AM Saturday doesn't make me feel as bad. Love the unwavering support. We got your email💚

    Great video Dan. I was going to ask about the pizzas but saw your response to another comment. I use a cast iron pan with a camp oven lid on top for pizzas. I have a ‘short’ on my channel that shows it. Coles sells dough balls ready to use for about $3 each. I was happy with the result and didn’t have to make dough.

      Thanks for the encouragement Matt. Thanks for watching. Checked out your pizza short - yum, nice work! I was surprised the base wasn't slightly burned when you peeled it up. I should try this way with my camp oven. Cheers

    Bit of elbow grease Dan and they will cut out… adds a bit of character.
    Love the scenery shots, you capture them so well mate.

      Thanks Gav, Now a few more stripes since September last year...but still hopeful I'll hit it with the elbow grease and fancy chemicals at some point😁. I've been watching your recent uploads for inspiration. You're getting some great traction now. Well done mate. We'll have to share notes one of these days.

    I dont like pin striping! You do manage to find some good tracks and great camping spots.

      @OTWD  Месяц назад +2

      Thanks Michael. Unfortunately the stripes have got worse since September. I need to polish them out and apply a clear film- atleast the door panels and rear panels up to window level.(found some good cheap ebay stuff that Paul recommended)

    Hi Dan, what do think about the Drifta pizza oven? Does it make a nice pizza?

    • @OTWD
      @OTWD  Месяц назад +2

      Hi David, thanks for watching 😬I think it's great for people that use the fire pit at home, then want to make a good meal camping too on the occasion. It's a bit of an effort bringing it out on a weekend trip like this - but its fun to experiment with! The guys did not complain..! The trickiest bit is managing the heat, so suggest practice with the same charcoal to get a feel for it. I was surprised with how low the thermometer sits on the interior - not much head room for rotating/moving the pizza inside the oven. When I referred to different ways of using, I meant making the bases. I've tried dough from scratch (not really practical camping, unless you make dough balls at home and put in fridge), also tried pre-made bases (generally good), and my sacrilegious DIY is using pita bread or wraps as a base- which allows you to pump the pizzas out fast if you are entertaining a crowd. They are 100-150 bucks at the moment EOFY. Pretty good value if you are into pizzas combined with camp fires! Cheers.

      @@OTWD Thanks Dan, I saw they were on special, hence my question. Regarding the bases, if you have a dual zone fridge then you can bring frozen ones from home (give the dough a couple of days to develop some flavour). Also, home-made ones seem to work better with a few minutes in the oven before you put the topping on (I think it is called blind-baking). Anyway, keep up the good work and good luck with the buffing wheel.

    Quit the music Dan... Don't need it. You have great content and filming. 12:20, what you said. It's just nice to soak up the place you are at.

      I use the expression "sticking my feet in the dirt" - (sometime literally) as a way to describe grounding one self in the place you are at, and just enjoying what is around you at the time.
