How can I make the difference between resistance that shows me it’s time to leave a situation and resistance that is meant for me to grow and be strong in the hardship/resistance. I hear my inner voice that calls me into the unknown but what if it’s just taking the easy way out?

Hi Marianne! This is such a good question and one that I've struggled to answer for myself for a long time. I think the answer comes with trial and error. For a while I thought I had resistance to working on my business because I was scared of my own success/in a story where I "never complete what I start." So I tried to push myself to work on it. However, even when I would start working on it, it just wasn't flowing. I felt a lot of brain fog and lack of clarity.
I now realize that I am in a season of rest, deepening my intuitive abilities, and healing my inner child. This work is taking so much more energy out of me than I realized. If I continue to only view myself as valuable when I'm taking "productive" action, I will stay in this resting phase for longer than necessary because I'm not actually giving myself the rest I need and deserve. This is what led me to surrender and pull back from everything.
It's a lesson about learning to trust ourselves again and loving ourselves even when we aren't moving forward at the pace that our minds think we should. It's about understanding that energetic and healing work IS work - and we need to give ourselves more credit.
Not everyone is taking this path (in fact most people you see aren't, which is why it can feel so scary when we compare our progress to other people). But I believe this is the path that is necessary for many of us who want to live in alignment and allow things to manifest with more ease rather than forcing them into place.
I personally believe that the more I turn inward and give myself this permission to rest and learn to feel valuable without outer achievements, that a day will come where I feel ready to take an action step that will open up doors to everything I've ever wanted and more. It will not come in the way I think it will and I've surrendered to that. To me, if it doesn't feel energizing and exciting, it is not the right time. And sometimes we do have to move past initial resistance and fears to get to that flow state, but if you feel like you're forcing and taking action based on fear the entire time, it's a sign to pull back and surrender.
