Why is this me tho?
Honestly, I find myself identifying with Adrian a lot as a character. I'm a very socially awkward person who has had limited experience building friendships or relationships with others my age due to my controlling parents. I often come off to others as extremely mature because of my speech and general manner of doing things (methodical, thinking things through, etc...)
In a strange way, when, I as an adult, came across this children's show, I felt so inexplicably seen in a way I hadn't really felt before. Especially not by a children's show for God's sake.
I just hope that all the kids watching this show can notice how wrong Adrian's situation is and know that they aren't alone, they aren't wierd, they weren't just born different, and it's not really a good thing that they're 'quiet or 'mature'. I hope this show does a decent job of communicating how awful this situation is. Not just because of his distant father or mother's absence, but simply because of how telling his interactions with others are AND NOBODY DOES ANYYHING. It's considered normal, even praised. It's called trauma. People need to realize this and acknowledge it.

i so wish i saw a character that was smart but not an undesirable nerd or a know-it-all snob, as a kid. i was exactly that description as a kid and i wondered why i didn't fit in. well i found out years later that i was a precocious child so it explains it a little. but yeah, some rep would've been nice...

Also his voice would be calm and monotone when he's Adrien but once he's Chat Noir, his voice is completely different, more high-pitched, he's being him, making it harder to see that he's Adrien and then it would be logical for Marinette not to know it's Adrien

I also would like to think that Adrien would try harder to hide his ring because of how terrified he is of losing Chat Noir, maybe putting it as necklace underneath his clothes or something small like to make it not as visible and easy to take.
Yea! I thought about that too, but I went deeper into Marinette's because she could put magnets to hide her earrings and give the illusion that she changes them. I thought about using it on the foot but I don't know if it would be very functional

It really bother me how she is constantly telling everyone to keep their identity secret yet her coustom dosent hide her identity better and if not for the plot Armor her identity could have been exposed long ago 😒 it doesn't even have a klark Kent/ Superman affect
@@miss.mirana4061 I like the idea, but just the opposite. I wanted her to have a more Asian cut when transformed, although I love the Callimari designer I wonder if it wouldn't be too revealing too. I wanted the civil designer to be more ethnic and simpler, further contrasting a more ethereal and creative superhero look. The idea of the magnets is for no one to be like "then you never take it off, it must be Ladybug". I would add the Clark Kent effect to the costumes but the fact that Marinette even in the Lucky charm design still looks like a cretin eeeeh....
@@thefaithalflaw I mean, no one really knows about the Miraculouses apart from the holders, so she could just say it's merchandise or something, after all, we know they have movies made about them aswell as plushes and toys, so they probably have accesories dedicated to them too
Fingerless gloves (the type that covers the whole palm instead of individual fingers) would look cool. Or he could wear rings on other fingers so that the important one is less noticeable among them.
I like that you kept the bells. I imagine that he would taunt his enemies during battle and they would freak out because they can hear the jingling of the bells but can't see him.
Cute idea: Imagine Cat Noir saving a little kid and they're just playing around with his bell like a kitty cat.
I LOVE THIS IDEA. like him being super hinged and wild in battle (especially towards those he knew were adults just to freak them out) and as soon as he sees a kid his entire demeanor changes and becomes a house cat to calm the kid down

Imagine this: you’re some Villain of the Week, and all of the sudden, you just hear the jingle of bells. It fills you with inexplicable fear, and then you see some random 14 year old.
The cannon Chat Noir design isn’t exactly bad looking, but yours looks less like a weird BDSM latex cat suit and more like an actual super hero.

God this Adrian has so much writing potential! If this was canon, Miraculous would be flourishing and I would happily be engaged with the new Ladychat dynamic.
One more thing, since this version of Chat Noir is more unhinged and possibly kinda amateur with his power, then Master Fu might take up on that and perhaps they can build the father/son bond that he and Gabriel never did?

It would be so sad after Master Fu forgot everyone, and LB and CN mourn him together (not that he’s dead, but still the loss of their memories would be quite heavy). I could totally see a bonding moment for Mari and a dejected Adrien too (perhaps with Mari stumbling over who she also lost recently- her grandpa? Her cousin? I feel like the writers could put some humor in here).
Love this idea!
The way Adrien is handled in the show makes him so boring and bland but there is so much to his character. He is sculpted by his dad to be perfect but he doesn't want to be. He doesn't want to be cooped up in his house and Cat Noir helps him to do that. As Cat Noir he's his best self in my opinion, not his true self, but the self he is more free. But the way the show writes him makes him out to be boring af and they barely explore his character and the depth he actually has. Wasted character there.
Adrien has the be the potential such an amazing character. It's such a shame that the show wasted him

The difference between Sokka and Cat Noir is Sokka had a character and wasn't just the comic relief. Sokka had alot to his character as well, he even had one episode for himself and he wasn't even a main character. Cat Noir is a main character but he hardly gets a role other than being a comic relief or just a helping hand to Ladybug. Adrien is just the love interest to Marinette in most episodes and nothing else sometimes.

I love the clothes you gave him!! He looks so handsome and fashionable. He actually looks like the son of a fashion designer, unlike the original, which is good but the colors feel off. Maybe you could redesign Marinette's civilian outfit or other characters from the show or characters from other shows. Either way, good job and you should definitely expand your horizons beyond Yandere because you're very good.

This is really random but I like how you made him normally have 'golden blonde' hair like in the original but a more 'bronze blonde' when Cat Noir. In his normal everyday life he is the golden child, he needs to be 'perfect'; When he is Cat Noir he doesn't have that same pressure (this is referencing how gold is usually first place a bronze is third/last place)

Adrien reminds me of Isabela from Encanto, only there’s one major difference. In Encanto, Disney made everyone hate Isabela at first because she was “perfect” and had a great life with no problems. But towards the end, they revealed that Isabela didn’t actually have a great life, and was sick of having to be little miss perfect all the time. They show Isabela’s true colors, and she becomes her actual self. The difference is that in Miraculous, throughout the whole show, Adrien never changes. He never reveals that he doesn’t want to be perfect, and just stays as the same guy. Whereas Isabela does change, and becomes the real version of herself that she always wanted to be. I think that is the main problem with Miraculous, Adrien is too scared to change.

I don't think Adrien being too scared to change is the issue. Remember, Isabella was scared to change too. It was Mirabel that helped her change, and only after Abuella changed could Isabella be her true self. I think the show could pull this off by having Marinette (or any of Adrien's friends) help him change. But the show is too lazy for that
Adrien says he hates his "perfect" life to marinette in risk.
And, i mean does he have a choice? Gabriel is controlling his life, Adrien can not just "change" beacause he would get punished by Gabriel and he can not complain to anyone because nobody would understand his complaining as shown in risk.
Plus, if Adrien really is a sentimonster, which he probably is, then he just cant do anything about it or make some big change even if he wants to.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do Chloe! Her character was so wasted by the writers and just when she was getting some character development the writers threw it all away and I’d love to see how you portray her character either way whatever you do will be way better than what the writers have done
Chloe is supposed to be the spoiled, rich, daughter of the mayor and a famous fashion critique. Yet she is never shown to wear any sort of jewellery and she doesn't appear to have manicured nails. I don't mind her being a bully, but have being Queen Bee actually humble her a little and actually make her enjoy being nice for the sake of others, instead of turning her into more of a brat, only wanting to be Queen Bee for attention.
The worst part is she got a redemption arc then the writers turned around and made her a jerk again for no reason :l
@@parenthesiss No, there was a reason. It was a stupid reason, but Thomas had one. Apparently, Thomas was bullied as a child and has a hate-boner for all bullies. When he realized how much love Chloe was getting from the fans, he went to Twitter to tell them to stop it. They did not. So he completely ret-conned her character in retaliation. Thomas hates bullies and has stated that he does not believe bullies have the capability to ever change or grow as people. -- That was the reason. The entire reason the only character with development was tossed aside like yesterdays garbage.

I find it very odd that Emilie has only been... Gone... For one year. Because Adrien doesn't really talk about his mom like he knew her. At least to me, it doesn't seem like Adrien acts like someone who lost his mom recently, he doesn't seem like someone who has known and interacted with Emilie for aproximately 12/13 years. He never says anything specific about his mom and her personality that he misses (one time he says that his mom made him laugh a lot and he hasn't laughed like that since she left but that's it).
I keep forgetting that. It always feels like she's been gone for a really long time, like, the majority of his life but...apparently not

That's kinda what I was thinking. It's a great design but I feel like it's too much for Adrien. It's giving more kdrama ceo to me. I get that she wants him to dress like a model but I wouldn't have chosen it. Now that I'm thinking about it, I would probably just change the jacket to something less dramatic but still stylish
After the series ends there should be a reboot, maybe for a slightly older audience, and then use the logic from this and other sources to make it better then the original

@@hujan1744 Snakey smokes is talking about the person who wrote this, and retconned Chloe's redemption arc because of his belief that Bullies never change. in that context, It kinda makes sense. there are bullies who actually feel insecure about themselves and, presented the oppertunity to change and have the things they wanted without the threats or abusive behaviour. reading earlier comments, It also matches that, if he really wanted to show the part of aspect, that bullies cannot change, amend it to some bullies never change and have Lila fill that role. Her constant lies, tearing down Marinette's self esteem because she doesn't follow with her lies, Literally becoming the antagonist at points where the villain actually capitalized on what the Lila did... Just because you believe one thing about people doesn't mean everyone does (to the author). as for that reboot idea, I actually think it's a good idea, see what it might be like. Maybe the spots wouldn't be so bad if they redesigned marinette's outfit according to what this youtuber imagined it to be like.

The story line from 39:07 is absolutely beautiful and the ending where Adrien wants to help his father get over his grief instead of leaving him. It's so beautifully sad.

Imagining the breakdown rn besties
This new version of Adrien is like the version of Félix that I dreamed of seeing, in the original version he was a good person, he just couldn't be very open or kind because he didn't have any role models, the terrible life he had made him have no hope but he would see that he had a hope, that he could receive love back, have friends, have a life!
I was thinking exacly the same! Thomas said he didn't like Felix because he was too much of a "edgy anime boy" but, I always saw him more like an awkward kid, who also has a CURSE of bad luck, and dont wanna involve anyone in his mess and so, he push off people to protect himself, because again, he is kind of an introvert who dont understand feelings and people very well, but also to protect them from his power + his whole relationship with Gabriel. ( Also, he being cold do Marinette in the PV was kind understandable because no one like a fucking stalker. And Thomas has the audacity to say that FELIX was the bad example, TRULY irony ) And when he is Chat Noir, he feels more safe to be more of a jokester and flirt, because no one will judge him behind a mask, and even if in the original concept he was just faking his feelings for Ladybug to break the curse, I think that it was a really interesting dynamic and character flaw that the writers could develop. Gosh...im still not over this series not being an anime ;---;
I’m absolutely in love with the idea that only Chat can break acumatized items! It makes so much sense with his power, I really wish the show writers thought of it in the actual show :,)
Finally someone saying it straight about Marinette's age. We've had her age confirmed twice (including recently) and people still don't believe it lol. People also make it very clear which dub they watch and not realize the French school system is different from America.
Different from US’ specifically, I do not know the same for Canada and Mexico.
With your changes in mind, wouldn't it be a really cute bonding activity for Adrien to commission Marinette as a designer? I imagine his dad ALWAYS picks out the clothes he gets to wear, so having Marinette design an outfit he actually likes and shows his personality would be good for them.
It could also give a small hint to Marinette about his identity (maybe his joyful laugh when he sees the outfit reminds her of Chat Noir or something similar) but she brushes it off cause there's no way those two could be the same person.

I love the little bells on the gloves because I imagine every time he moves his hands to punch or swing his staff the bells jingle. I think that'd be both adorable yet intimidating for the villains when they hear the jingle.

Has a french girl, i confirm it, they're in middle school. As for Adrien, i have heard a lot of stories about him. For example, Adrien's first concept was a handicapped boy. This idea was pretty interesting and i got sad to learn why they didn't take that idea for the show

The cats and the ladybugs then work together to resurrect the fallen people, quickly weakening the barrier of death and creating life once again for the souls who fell
That's actually a really cool concept :D So then would the people who'd died be the originals? And if so, does that mean they would be brought back as babies and have to start their life over (essentially they would still be themselves, with the same genetics, same parents ect.) Or would they be brought back as themselves, just before they died?
My thought was that they would come back as anywhere between right before they died to around two or three months ago. It would depend on how long it took them to ‘save the day’. If if takes them really long, the time of the souls would be around three months in the past
This is such a cool concept, plus it makes sense for how their Kwamiis are, yin/Yang, create/destroy, life/Death, it at least makes the whole ‘no-one dies’ thing have some semblance of sense, better than the original

I feel like forbidding linearity from the episodes was inherently a mistake. The show has an end goal in defeating Hawkmoth and taking back his Miraculous. It's not like SpongeBob or Phineas and Ferb where most of the stories are contained in one episode, Miraculous has a overarching plot. Making it nonlinear just makes it look like the problem will never be solved for literally no reason.

Yeah it feels like MLB has to many season because of that and the creators don't know what they're doing or what the story actually is or will be, the show doesn't really feel like it's about something it just feels random and contrived
It’s interesting how your version feels like if Felix from the anime ladybug story fused with final Adrien, it’s quite fun and I think it fits best. I also think that maybe he isn’t angered easily but more so completely numb and cold to his father.
I think it woul also be more interesting if he is colder in the first season.
He want friends! He wabt to be free and unrestricted and lough free about dumb Jokes... but he Was raised to be cool and aloof.
He is dorky and fails too communicate with his classmates on a normal Level... that makes him allienated and drifting away from the others. I thinks: i am not allowed to be so! And so he is cold. Smiley not often but is polite.
When we got a moment (Chloe or Nino) he want to take a good thing and trys in his own way. It fails. But cuz he is in hisself a good guy, he dispise bullying. Takes side with Nino, let some comment falling, that he find him and his music cool... but then is back to cold. But little they see he is a cold but warm guy... who is just not quiet comfy with the "normal" honest society. He could become more honest lil by lil and keep Chloe in check. His crazy CN personality could become sometimes in special Moments (Marinette got lot "heroic" LB moments in RL) visible and when he is closer with the people. So he can change a little and the "big god" can become more and more human to the class and they can also change the way they see him. From a lil enemy, too maybe he is okay, oh he is really okay!, i think he is really a very good guy, i like him!, hey wanna hang out?, i want to be his friend... oh me too! Oh he is my freund alreaey! The class ließ him really! He is a part of us all!
So and Marintte godly crush... A don't goes soft in an Instant it is a progress and he is the entire time a lil but cold. So see can view him as "cold Bastard... oh he is nice!" Maybe see more of his true self an likes him early than all... i think this would be more... honest... and not so Toxic (?). But all in all it is a Mask he wears to conceal. And M do not see all behind it. And that is okay. She falls in love with his cold aloof but geniuely friendly self. It would more explain the crushing and the distance she feels, cuz he is so alien... untouchable. This can also change when they grew neary and all in all... when he got CN moments als A, she can be suprised and have a crises... but she can learn too appreciate this part of him and can be lucky for him when he can let go of the learned Maske he wears cuz she want him to be free and happy!

He could look like he doesn't care on the outside but on the inside he actually is mad or hurt- now that he's Cat Noir that means he can be free to express himself without fearing any consequences. If he exploded no one would print a gossip magazine on the perfect son was not so perfect after all etc etc. His father wouldn't know. The press wouldn't know. No one would know.
Or! Ladybug could teach Adrien to be more free- I mean he's been cold and blank his whole (or well most of) his life. Ladybug could be the person that teaches him that he's free to be who he wants to be because he's his own person and THAT'S WHAT MAKES CHAT NOIR FALL IN LOVE WITH HER!! That'd give their romance so much sense!

@@monocerusfairy1290 Maybe this could also be a problem with his superhero life, he wants to help everyone but doesn't know how to help anyone, so he usually ignores Ladybug's orders to try and do what he thinks is right and fails because he either didn't know how to, or Ladybug got in the way and they started arguing.
Maybe that's the reason why they at the beggining don't reveal their identities, because they don't trust eachother and don't feel confortable sharing their secret identites (aswell as then still being new to being a superheroes and not being confident enough about themselves) but as time goes on they become more open to one and other until they decide to actually reveal themselves.
I think that's a more interesting dinamic than Chat harrassing Ladybug while she emotionally abuses him

You nailed the duality of "perfect model son" and "wild chaotic cat" in your designs and just yes, yes, and YES on your plot development, power usage and how he behaves as both of his personas. Its everything he SHOULD have been as the other main character.

In regards to your rewrite of Adrien not understanding teen slang made me remember that Chat Noir calls Ladybug “M’lady” in the show-
So with that in mind, my Headcanon is that Adrien when researching teen slang to fit in found “M’lady” and assumed it was a gentleman-ly thing and not associated with “nice guys”

I love this Adrien so much. The gremlin energy is so strong with him and I love it. I can imagine Cat Noir being the type of person to mock and tease the villains while fighting them, but then once he realizes he's probably gonna get his ass kicked he goes "Hey come on! I'm just a little guy! I'm just a little guy nooo! You wouldn't hurt a little guy would you?"

Using your gem analogy, I'd like to add that natural gems have impurities themselves, while most synthetic ones don't. They strive to be perfect, and lose what makes the natural ones unique.
I think when doing Chloe, we should scrap Zoe completely cos she was her replacement. Or make her an inside person. Chloe could only trust her sister and reveal she's Queen Bee in her time of need. Zoe could then help make sure nobody finds out the identities of our heroes. She's basically our girl on the inside. Warning them who to lay low around and other things.

I like your idea, everyone wants to eliminate Zoe and I can see why but it would be better to take advantage of her character as a emotional support and relief for Chloe since her parents don't help her in anything. It would be a very good thing for Chloe since Sabrina is useless
Same, Zoé has lots of potential, but she’s only around to be Queen Bee’s replacement and that’s it. I always thought when she appears, she’s gonna help in Chloé’s redemption arc, but it looks like it might not be coming.

And it would also make way more sense to have the girl on the inside be Zoé instead of Alya like in-cannon, because like, isn't Alya the reporter that seeks the spotlight? Yeah, we have undercover agent reporters or whatever, but I feel that that still falls flat and doesn't make that much sense. And I say this as Alya is one of my favorite characters in the entire show.
I feel like I’m the only person who genuinely likes Zoe😭 I feel like they could’ve made her character work in so many different ways without replacing Chloe or if they really wanted to undo all of Chloes character development they could’ve had it that she and Zoe get really close but once she finds out that Zoe is vesperia is over come with jealousy and steals the miraculous from her but inevitably gives it back realizing what she’s doing is wrong which could show her character growth or have Zoe find out Chloe was queen bee and give the miraculous back to her out of guilt. Another idea is that Zoe could’ve been an older sister who tries to nurture Chloe into a better person

Thank you for addressing the imbalance in their "partnership". I started watching this show expecting and excited to see an equal partnership between two superheroes... only to be disappointed when I realized pretty quickly this was not going to be the case at all. They are not presented as equals with equally purposeful work, but rather Ladybug is the one with more power, more brains, more fans, more screen time and spotlight. Also, along with this imbalance, I feel like Cat Noir is always the one to be shown at fault, whereas Ladybug can almost do no wrong, as if she is infallible. This is one of my biggest pet peeves about the show. Until this dynamic changes (which I don't really expect to happen), I cannot be convinced that they are partners, no matter how many times Marinette/Ladybug claims they are.
As a person who loves Adrien/Cat Noir, he really is a missed opportunity. Like you said, the show focuses more on Marinette and her crush on Adrien but NEVER on Adrien alone, only snippets. It's so frustrating because Adrien is LITERALLY the son of the show's main villain! Sure, they show us his reactions when finding out about this but those are literally alternate timelines at this point. I just wished that they actually had episodes focusing solely on Adrien, maybe even get more of Adrien's opinions on Marinette other than "sHe'S jUsT a FriEnD!". Hell, I would LOVE an episode where Cat Noir actually does something cool AND defeats the villain by himself! It was shown that Cat Noir can use cataclysm on the akuma in Cat Blanc, so why not use that idea more often? But at this point this is all just a pipe dream.
But anyways, I ranted a bit there- I really like what you did with Adrien's character here, especially Cat Noir's new suit! Really loving the combination of green and black more visible than his design now. I also love the idea of Adrien having a hard time interacting, it could give him and Nino and even better connection and maybe a lot of goofy interactions with his classmates! Also loved how you made Cat Noir more like a dark horse, it really gives him more character other than Ladybug's simp. Hell, it's more of a reason to tease Ladybug!

As someone who has recently finished French 1, we did go over French schools and their classes, and variations between middle school, highschool, and college. While our systems go from 1st to 12th grade, theirs go from sixème (6th), cinqième (5th), quatrième (4th), to troisième (3rd). This means that their middle school grades go from greatest to least in number, not the other way around.
Whilst it's important to do research (like callimara did), it's important for the viewers of _any_ media to recognize that not everything is American. This show is a French show, if it weren't obvious enough. France has manymanymanymany differences compared to America, and while some are obvious.
For a basic example, the Faire la Bise (kiss on the cheek) is mostly common knowledge for us. We think French greetings and think "Ah yes, the cheek kiss!" But most people aren't aware that hugging is their romantic gesture, like cheek kisses are for us. In fact, the French don't ever really hug, and there is no French verb for "to hug" either. You should _never_ hug anyone- especially not a stranger- in France unless it is your child or partner. Otherwise, they'd consider it how we consider someone randomly kissing your cheek: flirtation. If you look up, "I hugged them" in Google Translate to French, you will see it translated to "Je les ai embrassés," which translates to "I kissed them." (Embrasser is also the French verb, "to kiss," not to embrace.)
That being said, MLB has an awful lot of hugging and they typically do try to add things more friendly to other cultures. My guess is this is American culture being brought in because... Well, it's American culture. We're pretty influential worldwide. Regardless, hopefully someone found this interesting. Make sure to keep in mind that yes, things are different, even the minute.
Another fun little tidbit... While we in America teach our children to keep our elbows _off_ the table, the French teach their children to keep their elbows _on_ the table. See? Anything, no matter how small, can be different depending on culture. So do some research before getting up in arms in comment sections and the like. :)

It’s the same for Spain too. While I’m not exactly Spanish, (I’m Asian American) I’ve grown up there, and they do a lot of cheek kissing when they Great others, especially the adults. It’s not romantic at all, it’s like waving hello to someone, it’s just a way of greeting.
@@katthehufflepuff3269 Exactly. A lot of our romantic gestures are only "romantic" based off of culture telling us that it is, not because of an actual romantic emotion being struck by that action. As in, a kiss can mean everything or nothing at all depending on your culture, not solely your emotions.
That said, I dont think this makes them any less special though. 🙂

I think your ideas are great.
I like to think with them the way you designed, marionette would say she has a crush on Adrien because she feels pressured to do so, socially. She actually immediately falls for Chat Noir, who’s wild and Eccentric, where she finds Adrien nice, but kind of boring, and too passive, like he’s afraid to actually say what’s on his mind.
She’s becomes more strict with chat noir after an incident (maybe someone dies) because she’s anxious his laid back approach will put people in danger, and after witnessing how much damage they can really do she’s afraid to make any mistakes.
And in turn Adrien likes Marionette because she’s fun, creative and carefree, where he isn’t too fond of her as lady bug, because after the incident she became serious and she wants to take control. It would remind him of his father.
But as Adrien learns to express himself more as Adrien, he catches marionettes attention. Perhaps she encourages him to wear hot pink pants to school one day instead of his usual look.
As marionette learns to trust chat noir she relaxes, and isn’t so uptight. She apologizes for pushing him to hard, and admits she’s just afraid of messing up and letting people down, or letting them get hurt.
They learn how to balance their anxieties, and strengthens, growing together into more well rounded, but unique individuals.
And this is why you aren't on the Miraculous writing team, this sounds interesting, cool, and its also leads to character growth. Good Job.

That last bit is actually one of my favorite tropes where that one character who's never had a chance to buy clothes for themselves for whatever reason gets taken on a shopping spree by their new friends and they pick out the absolute most HIDEOUS clothing and are like, "I like this it's cute/cool!"
And then the friends are always like, "uh.. y.. yeah sure is, bud.. you sure you want that one?" and the person goes "for sure!!" "oookay.."
And then the ugly clothing is like their favorite thing and they wear it all the time much to their friends' chagrin lmfao

I've gotten into the habit of listening to Miraculous fan rewrites and honestly everyone does such an amazing job I end up feeling depressed every time. Because it makes me realise what we could have had. But it always baffles me how a bunch of teen girls online can individually make so much better stories than a group of adult storywriters.

Some people in the mlb fandom are always saying that Adrien is just "so attractive" and I'm just thinking about the fact that he looks so... average. I guess he looks kinds better then the other characters but he still looks no better than average in terms of looks. Plus, he dresses like my six-year-old cousin! THIS Adrien is someone who is actually attractive AND fashionable!
These designs are amazing! They represent his personality so much. (I love the claw marks on Chat Noir's new costume)
One thing i like more about the original designs of Marinette and Adrien is that their color schemes are actually complete opposites of each other, both their hair and their clothes are inverted to highlight how their characters are written to be opposites.
also i've seen a lot of people who rewrite Adrien kinda resort to making him yet another frustrated angsty teenage boy who hates his father or whatever, like the trope thats been done a billion times, but i actually like how he's written in a more stereotypically ''feminine'' way as in he is very empathetic and has a more sensitive way of dealing with his trauma. (aka kinda being a doormat) not something you see a lot (at least not me). Anyway i definitely agree that his depression and his character in general should be explored more.

The way Adrien acts in the show actually has a term called ''fawn response'' that causes children to be unreasonably forgiving of others and is very common with c-ptsd victims. All i meant with my comment was that it's a breath of fresh air to see an abused male character written like this instead of yet another angsty teen with anger issues.
Not saying that having anger issues or anything isn't a realistic response- it is. But that doesn't mean that acting the opposite isn't equally as realistic and it isn't something that's often portrayed with male characters.

Yesss exactly! Love the way you put this. I like that he’s a gentle kid, and that despite him having the Miraculous of destruction, he doesn’t deal with his trauma with force and aggression (as Adrien). The show does a terrible job of balancing this with actually showing his grief and pain, but at the core I love that he just wants to make the people around him happy and their lives easier. It would be very refreshing if it was actually done well.
Adrien having to buy a book on normal slang would definitely be fun to see play out, plus it’s similar to how Kagami is, since she seems to be awkward and out of place with that sort of thing.
i think it's also nice that he's shaded with purple since it's usually seen as royalty/elegance.
25:28 the second outfit really fits his color scheme and brings out his eyes. However, I really like the last and black/grey color scheme you did; it really reflects his inner feelings but also staying really fashionable too.
So not only do I adore the look you gave Adrien, but I'm absolutely IN LOVE with the concept of both him and Marinette needing to combine their powers to reverse the damage on the city! The way you have both their powers and the characters themselves play off of each other creates a much stronger yin and yang dynamic, which is great since we know from imagery and whatnot that that's exactly what the show is aiming for.
Admittedly, I always thought the flirtatious and kinda teasing way Cat Noir acts towards Ladybug was kinda fun to watch, plus I feel like him behaving like that opens up a possibility for a discussion about him taking his new hero role more seriously. So basically what I'm saying is that, even if it's relatively toned down, I feel like that flirtatious back and forth aspect to their relationship would probably still be there, though I imagine Ladybug usually will shut him down if they're in the middle of dealing with an akuma attack or something. He'd generally get more fun banter out of her during downtime and possibly during patrols if/when they do those.

Personally, I've never been bothered by Chat Noir's flirty attitude. As a person who enjoys flirting casually with my friends, I get it. To me--and this is probably just a me thing--it never really feels like he expects something to happen if he flirts enough times. Like he doesn't actually expect her no to change to a yes. He flirts because it's fun and something he can't do as Adrien. So might as well flirt with his crush every chance he gets because her reactions are "adorable" to him. To me, there's a clear difference between when he's seriously asking Ladybug for more and where he's just casually flirting. The episode where he did the rooftop date being a clear example. In that one, he was softer, wasn't really flirty as much as sweet, like he wanted to show Ladybug that he could be serious for her. And when she rejects him, expressing that she's in love with someone else, he backs off. He's still heartbroken, sure. I mean, his crush basically told him that he has zero chance in hell with her. But he backs off and is never serious like that again. He just returns to his usual banter-flirting.

Seasons 1-2 it always came off like banter between them, rather than anything actually serious. It was a mutual running gag, and even Ladybug didn't think he was serious.

@@izzy1356 Yeah. I always find it odd when people say that constantly flirting with someone who has turned you down is bad. Like. If you don't actually think anything is gonna come of it and you're just flirting because it's fun... Is there a harm? Not like Ladybug ever specifically said "You flirting like that makes me uncomfortable, please stop." She just rolls her eyes at him, tells him to get his head in the game, and continues on with the battle.
Also I have NO idea who told Calli that seasons 3-4 were better than 1-2. Whoever did had to be smoking something. Chloe was disrespected hardcore. Chat was disrespected hardcore. Marinette was made into more of a Mary Sue. Anything good from seasons 1-2 were tossed in the trash compactor. Don't know why people still try to cling to hope that it'll get better. We had that prayer in season 3 and look where that got us?
I like this version of him and it actually makes sense! Like him being formal, perfect and awkward cause he never had any friends (except for Chloe) and doesn't interact with other kids his age due to his position and is always pressured to be perfect no matter what happens in his life. And this Cat Noir version suits him much better cause he's been isolated his whole life so it makes sense for him to chaotic and kind of rebellious and free. Oh and your version of their powers actually balances their powers like how it's supposed to be.

I never got why Adrian, a fashion model and rich, wears his type of clothes as if he picked something out of the garage. I thought I was the only one who thought MLB had parrellels to Victorious and it kinda shows in the ICarly and Victorious crossover, I always dislikes that Adrian is as bland of a personality and doesn't get enough quality screentime. I love that Adrian and Chat Noir have with their outfits, especially the Chat suit! (Reminds me of the Monster energy drink) I kinda didn't like that the show just made the suit all black so the burst of neon green in it and the hair choice was smart, cause wow, a blonde boy with green eyes and a girl with midnight blue hair with pigtails? Who has those? Nooooo idea.
I do like how they'll have an actual teamwork and how he's the bad cop to Ladybug's good cop and talking about things that happen before the first episode and actually exploring his past. It adds a good sense how life is actually like without it being too gritty all the time. Awesome work Calli!

Honestly, seeing people like you redesigning and rescripting this show is what makes me so happy. I wish the writers and directors were open to ya'll ideas.
I adore his new everyday design! Reflects his background and father’s’ grasp upon him so much better ( also the exclusion of those hideous orange shoes that are a fashion war crime is always a plus in my book). I liked how you changed his personality and gave him more ✨spice✨ as there was a great lack of it! I really don’t like how the writers push Adrien aside while he could potentially be one of the most interesting animated characters. Even in the current show, his background story is one of the few things that make Miraculous stand out and it is in those episodes in which Adrien is given the spotlight that the plot really shines ! I know you have not yet seen season 4. While it does improve on certain aspects, the power imbalance is more apparent than ever. Ladybug is given new powers and has become a perfect example of a Mary Sue. She is also , may I say, abusive towards Cat Noir making him feel inadequate. There are still some episodes left and I am curious about what is going to happen! Some episodes seem to have potential and I am hopeful they won’t disappoint!
I love this idea so much! However, the fact that Hawk Moth/Gabriel just randomly accepts Chat Noir's looking for answers about Emilie without realizing that he's Adrien was a little confusing to me, so here's my suggestion on how to clear that up (unless you already had one, in which case it's your story and I'm sorry if it seems like I'm intruding).
Basically, we already know in canon that Emilie was really famous, and also super kind and caring. So, with her fame and the money that comes with that, she probably gives back a lot to the community. Visiting and volunteering at orphanages and hospitals, donating to schools, hosting funding events for libraries and arts centers, stuff like that. Have Hawk Moth take all of this into account and believe that Chat Noir was someone that was connected to one of these places she affected, maybe an orphan at an orphanage or a constant patient in a hospital. Then, when it eventually does get revealed that Chat is Adrien, it makes it all the more heart wrenching and confusing for Gabriel due to the fact that he so *easily* connected those ideas to *his own son*.
IDK if that made sense, but yeah. Again, really enjoying these videos and your designs and ideas are so amazing!
And then have Hawkmoth give Cat Noir the film of his mom from way back. Like, “damn, not even my good-for-nothing father has a copy of this!!” 😾
That’s a good idea although whether Emilie was kind and caring can be put into question. From Wishmaker we learn that Emilie also placed ideas of perfectionism into her son, not just Gabriel. Also Adrien did all those extra-curricular activities whilst his mother was still around and was homeschooled, so his freedom has actually grown compared to when his mother was around.
She was also a peacock holder for reasons we do not yet know- I doubt she was a superhero because there would be evidence of that which there isn’t and her and Gabriel have been hunting miraculous for 15 years as asserted in the Shanghai Special.
So yeah Emilie is kinda sus.
OH OH OH! Going from your idea, knowing that Chat Noir is someone who view Emilie very highly, Hawkmoth would definitely use that to persuade Chat to help him revive Emilie! And Chat who is confused on why this villain care so much about his mother would eventually found out about Hawk Moth being his father. I think that would be awesome!
I appreciate that you showed evidence of the character's ages, people tend to forget that schools around the world are all different. They may attend an all year high school but theyre still in junior high!
Now THIS is a show I would watch, I love your rewrite of the characters it makes the story so much more interesting as well as more depth. Also ngl the original costumes for Chat noir and Ladybug were pretty plain so it’s cool to see these new designs as well. This shows that this series has so much potential but it falls short because of bad pacing, writing etc. Excited to see more redesigns :)

i think this is one of the best, fairest criticisms of the show I've seen so far. the show isn't bad(yet), but its so frustrating knowing there is so much more that can be done, that's just being thrown away for the sake of consistency to a plot that didn't really work in the first place. this redesign is awsome and I think you did an amazing job with his backstory, plot, powers, and looks. 10/10!
Design wise, I love it! The contrast between Adrien's normal clothes and Cat Noir costume are On Point. Story wise...I also love it! lol. Some of your takes were different from how I would personal rewrite Adrien and characterize him, but I REALLY like the logic of each of your decisions, and I FELT your frustrations with the current show. Awesome video, definitely going to check your Marinette version.
There's actually a theory I've heard that Adrian isn't even a real person.
He's just a product of the peacock miraculous, made to be the perfect child.

We saw a good example of this when it was used to create a fake ladybug, and they talked about how it was like a real person and it ended up helping them and they were sad when it died because it was like a real person.
So.
The theory is that Felix's mom could not have her own child.
So Adrian's mom gave her own baby to her (because she's just so nice like that) and made Adrian out of the peacock miraculous, which is why they look so dang similar.
Which now that I look back at this theory again, why didn't she just have another baby the normal way? So they can both have cute moments together with their babies?
Or Gabriel's the reason

Knowing astruc, and how he could do so much with the show but doesn’t, he won’t allow the idea of Adrien being a sentimonster because of how it would affect the Marinette/Adrien relationship or whatever.
If one of them is a sentimonster, it’s Felix.
Wouldn’t it make more sense for Emilie to keep Adrian and create Felix (who is given to his mother)?
The original version of Adrien (who was more like Felix) was discontinued so it would make for Felix to come into the series as another version (sentimonster) of Adrian instead of just another human that happens to look like him.
I Think That instead of Looking up Slang and Stuff, Nino could teach him the ropes of being a normal teen and help him fit in. That way he could actually play a role in the story.

One of my biggest changes on the story would be a simple, Tikki and Plagg are equally old. In the creation of the universe there is also the destruction of the "nothing" they are opposites that come from the same place, and been here as ancient creatures traveling to world until found a race that end up seeing and making the gems.

The whole time I've been watching this I found myself really wanting to watch Miraculous again. But in reality, it's your version I really want to see. Just you talking about possible plot points for Adrien got me more engaged than any miraculous episode has. and your reasoning for why you've designed Adrien and Chat Noir the way you have, got me really excited!
But it also makes me sad how we'll probably never see anything like this in canon. Just because of Thomas Astruc's incapability to take constructive criticism and their clear lack of motivation to develop and think about the characters any serious detail. The wasted potential Is just painful to watch..
i like the idea of giving chat noir more powers, but i think it would make more sense for him to de-evilise the akumas because in a way that's 'destroying' the evil

I like how you designed Cat Noir's suit, it looks a bit modern, a bit of a punk rock style one, seeing as he's supposed to be in the modern trends as Adrien.
I also noticed is the abundance of triangles and sharpness(not in a bad way!) Triangles are often associated with fire and hazards, kind of connected to being the miraculous of destruction. It's normally used on villains to tell that 'This person is dangerous, stay away from them.'
Circles however, are normally used on friendly and soft characters. And Ladybug is full of spots which is a big contrast to Adrien's triangles. And with your design with Ladybug, she's more traditional rather than modern and it just further grounds the idea of them being Yin and Yang.
I would love to see Chloe's impact on this new Adrien's life. I think Chloe used to be a sweet girl but when her mother left, that's when their friendship got strained and her personality did a 180. Maybe, in his time of need, after being out of touch for so long, Chloe expressed her concerns and tries to comfort him.

@@akinela1214 Yeah, according to Adrien, Chloe was a sweet kid but since he seemed surprised at her mean nature in Origins, maybe Andre isolated Chloe after Audrey left, similarly to Gabriel isolating Adrien after Emilie died (except Chloe would've been this way for _years)._ It would make even more sense why she is how she is because she wasn't able to build relationships with anyone that wasn't her father, a teacher, or students. And Andre, wanting to make sure Chloe is happy and never leaves like Audrey, would spoil her with stuff that she wants, likes, or even expresses mild interest in. So by the time she's a teenager, she's already been taught that Andre will give her anything she wants to keep her pleased. Of course, she still loves her father but to some extent on both sides, they know it has something to do with what Andre can give Chloe.
In my headcanon, Marinette are a full fan of Adrien just because he's a model, and well... She takes seriously her hobby, so asks him to try the clothes she does or something like that, and eventually they become friends and she falls genuinelly for him, but not simping him
this is interesting to watch after the awakening movie came out. adrien in that movie still doesn’t have as much of a role as marinette (sadly) but he does show a lot of the qualities you mention here. he’s actively shown grieving his mother during the movie and talking about it with people. he’s an angsty teenage boy who walks through school with his headphones in too which is a lot more accurate to how something like that would affect a 14 year old boy. and he’s even shown yelling at gabriel saying “i lost my dad a long time ago” which i just loved that part they did a much better job with movie adrien
I wish Adrien got more character development. The show kind of treats him like he can do no wrong, like Marinette but with less screen time. His biggest character flaw is that he’s too nice, but he has so much potential to be more! They can make him really nice and still give him flaws and development!
I like your redesign of Cat Noir. I find it more interesting that he’d want to help his father move on from his grief and even be Ladybug’s enemy for a time, because of it. It shows that he’s human and will make reckless mistakes at times.
Can somebody PLEASE write a fanfic with all of these rewritten characters because I would 100% read it and now that these better versions of the cast are in my head I cannot function again until I see them in action

I've been really excited for your rewrite, redesign and your overall take on Adrien Agreste. It was very well thought out, you fleshed out Adrien plenty and gave him the personality he lacked. The designs are magnificent as well, as good ones do it reflects Adrien's characteristics such as being reserved and elegant, or wild and unrefined. I love how you thought of the Hawk Moth manipulation /confrontation scene, it fits like a glove and reiterates many plot points introduced in the series. About Adrien's orange sneakers, I believe either the creator of the show or someone of the team showed on Twitter that Adrien and Marinette's color schemes are opposites of each other, and if you invert the colors they become each other's. I don't know if it was worth it but at least they had a reason for it.

I find it hilarious how when the show points out how Ladybug doesn't need Chat Noir at all, they don't retort it with evidence to the contrary. On several occasions, actually, they showcase exactly that. Ladybug is just like "Yeah but he's the one I got assigned this project with and he's great moral support!"

First, Luka and Kagami supremacy 🛐🌠👏 Second, I love what you did with Adrien Agreste. Even though most of the fandom doesn't agree, his personality is so bland and generic other than his backstory. Even though he's pressured into being "perfect", we don't actually see him having a breakdown or we get to actually see his suffering from keeping up the facade. Like idk, having a mental breakdown when he's alone instead of crying about Ladybug? His character had load of potential but ofcz, it's Miraculous.
Honestly I agree that he is too lukewarm because they wanna focus on Marinette and everything and only now are they starting to show a bit more of his own emotions and opinions on things. The only thing that comes at the top of my head rn that he did that is wrong is the way he started to distance himself from kagami and when she asked if he lover her he said 'excuse me?' because he legit was distracted and didn't bother to listen to her, he treated her very poorly. I'm not excusing his behavior, I think he started dating her cuz he was confused and thought that maybe it was futile trying to have anything with ladybug, though that episode made me wanna smack him in the face, very little episodes show more of his personality and sides because Thomass asstruck says that people are anti feminist if they wanna see a bit more of Adrien because he is a boooyyy oooh it's not like he is also ONE OF THE MAIN CHARACTERS

My concepts of Marinette/Ladybug and Adrien/Catnoir personalitites:
Marinette: A really energetic girl who sometimes can annoying and loud, but would do anything for others to be happy
Ladybug: A perfectionist and gracious hero, that wants everything to be on control and wants everything to be great, powerful but delicate at the same time
Adrien: A guy that can be really awkward towards strangers, shy, chill boy, but can also be serious and kinda cold
Cat Noir: A passive agressive hero, that hides in the shadows and atacking before the enemy knows what atacked them in the first place. He still makes bad jokes when he is not serious tho, and is really wholesome to the civilians

Also, Ladybug does count as a kids show. Many people consider kid shows to usually range from 6 to 11. However, my nephew is 8 and he wasn't aloud to watch it for the longest time and by the time my sister let him, he hated it. It wasn't entertaining, he didn't like the characters, and he was confused about the plot.
I really feel like Ladybug isn't a children's show, it pretends to be one while catering to adults and parents. But even now, they are sick of this show.
Also this point isn't directly to you but I have heard it so many time. Just because something is made for children does not mean that it can be worse quality or teach bad lessons. Children need good media specificaly because they are smarter than we think. Seeing a main character be horrible and abusive to her friends is not gonna help kids. And example of me that may help some older people: When I was a kid my mom raised me on Disney, specifically Beauty and the Beast. While I do like the original tale, Disney fucked me up. I learned that I can heal a broken person and that even if they are a horrible person, it will work out in the end. From that information, can you guess how my first relationship went?
Kids need better media to digest and Ladybug is not cutting it.
I totally agree that the original fairy tale of Beauty and the Beast is better because the Beast actually treats her nice heck he throws a party when she first gets there fireworks and all like I have no idea where Disney lot this actual monster of a beast that changes for Bell from I also particularly like the part in the fairy tale when he explains that the girl must come willingly and with full knowledge of what is going to happen
Although I agree that just because it’s a kid’s cartoon doesn’t mean it should be bad quality. Children aren’t as dumb as we think I disagree with what you said about beauty and the beast. Most likely that it confused me. It never thought that you can heal a broken person. Belle wasn’t afraid to stand up to the beast. Once he saved her Belle decided to give him a chance.
It was up to the beast to change. And Belle slowly fell for him for that. Because it isn’t up to a person to save their S/O. It’s up to them to change for the better. Though watching Disney as a kid I also knew to separate reality from fantasy. Hercules was a example of that. Knowing that Zeus wasn’t the greatest father made me think, yeah fantasy is great but, I also need be well informed and take everything I see in the media with a grain of salt.
Same goes with Barbie movies, some of them even teaches kids that the moment villain tries to harm you, there is tomorrow and you can be your own hero than waiting to be rescue. Barbie and the three musketeers is the main example of that
I love your redesign for Adrien so much especially the Cat Noir version. I love how they're both so detailed yet not extremely complex and cluttered, so it's not overly distracting. The darker colours make you focus more on his face and upper body instead of the original where there wasn't much in terms of visual interest. The use of the green, is great even though the shade could have been a slight bit darker for my taste is still very well executed and brings out a lot more of his personality. Personally, the originals did not seem to best fit the character, where Adrien's outfit felt way too casual for his background and Cat Noir's outfit has so little colour and unnecessary details that also get overshadowed by the lack of colour and difference in shading, so seeing this does put a smile on my face.
If your version was the actual show, I would love it so much more. The way you designed Adrien makes perfect sense, and definitely would make the plot a lot more interesting.
You know, back before s3 got released I thought that when we get introduced to Mayura we'd get to see Cat Noir use his powers to undo her damage like how Ladybug uses her "miraculous ladybug" to undo damages caused by Hawkmoth or his villains. I got really disappointed when that didn't happen.

What I wish that they would of done with Adrien's character is make him only play the role as chat noir just for his own benefits but doesn't really care much about saving Paris like ladybug does so his big character ark is him learning what it means to be a true hero. This would of made his character alot more interesting to me personally. I just wish the show would call out his own mistakes just like they do with Marinette. Your new design for Adrien really fits his background better and I'm excited to see your takes on the other characters

With Adrien's civilian self, you also have to keep in mind that his civilian self is a persona. His behavior as Chat Noir is the true him. The him that he wants to be. His civilian self is what his father and the public _expects_ him to be. The mild mannered, perfectly pristine, accomplished young man with perfect grades, perfect manners, perfect appearance. Perfect. So of course his civilian self seems bland and predictable. That's what he's expected to be in the public eye. I do agree that they utilized his character poorly and did Chat a major injustice by relegating him to sidekick despite constantly _saying_ he's not a sidekick, but Adrien's civilian character feels like it was meant to be milk toast. Inoffensive, unassuming, bland. Because perfect is bland. They need to explore his character, but they need to do it with him as Chat. Because that is when _he_ allows himself to explore his character.
Saying Nathalie is concerned for Adrien's wellbeing and that's why she's bringing his behavior to Gabriel's attention is giving her too much credit. She's just as withdrawn from Adrien as Gabriel is. If anyone is going to notice the change in Adrien, unfortunately that honor goes to Gorilla. He's the only one who seems to give Adrien any sort of attention, which is saying something. Perhaps rather than her saying she's concerned about Adrien, she mentions that Adrien's tutors or teachers have noticed his apathy in his lessons and she's concerned about how the teachers will react if it's not addressed.
I like the idea of them having to be together to clean up the city. Maybe rather than purifying the akuma in her yoyo, Ladybug and Chat Noir have to hold it in their hands, and then when they go to do their 'fix it' powers, they have to release the butterfly together. I like the concept of creation and destruction have to be used in harmony to bring the balance back. And the Lucky Charm just straight disappears after because I've always kind of hated the Lucky Charm toss.
