You need to run the defusers at night. This is when the oxygen levels are at the lowest. I run mine 8-10 months out of the year here in Tx. 8 hours at night. Make sure you are changing the air filters as needed. They will pick up dust and choke your pump out. I would recommend a full replacement pump as a backup. You will need it. Or a rebuild kit on hand. Also, blow down each line to the defuser by closing the other valves to keep your defuser heads clean every three months or so. They will clog if you don't blow them down. I've been using a defuser system for ten years on my pond. I find running the system 24/7 is overkill. You will be replacing pumps more often. I started taking oxygen level readings 24/7. The primary source of oxygen for a pond is from microscopic algae. You need sunlight to produce oxygen in the water. So running your pump at night is a must. Running it during the day when photosynthesis is releasing oxygen seems pointless. I use to run mine 24/7 but found no difference in just running it at night. Go talk to a biologist. I stocked Camelot Bell F1 10 years ago and I couldn't he happier. Good luck with your project.

F1s have been found to develop bad genetics and stunt later on. Mine did exactly that. They were the big new thing even I stocked my pond with them way back about 2000 or so. In a few years I had nothing but some large bass and 1 lbers. Still to this day there's nothing over 1. 5 lbs. I'm about to restock with pure Florida bass. My bream are huge still

I was a heavy equipment operator and marina worker for 15 years until 2017. I just really enjoyed the documentation of this build so much. It reminded me of all the nuance of doing this kind of work, things I just let go of once I stopped doing that work myself. All the likes and praise for a job well done won’t match the satisfaction of the actual accomplishment felt from making it happen, but you and your crew really did a great job, and you’ve struck a great balance on the documentation side of telling the story while not delving unnecessarily deep into the details. From an avid viewer in Wales, I have to say this series is a gem. Theres so much more you could do to the area around the pond, adding nut and wild fruiting trees for the birds and other critters, flowers for insects, creating an entire heavenly ecosystem for wildlife of all sizes. Ive watched since you broke ground and enjoyed every moment. Love the suggestion elsewhere for Winston for the owls name, and would love a Bass called Llewellyn, the last Prince of Wales. WOW!! This is incredible! I just stumbled upon your video and have not been following the whole process. I'm extremely impressed by all the work that went into this and how freaking awesome it looks now, 1 year into the build. I legitimately had no idea you could build a pond of this size. You're so smart to release the bait fish into the pond first, let them build up their ecosystem, and then introduce predators. Outstanding!

I noticed that there hasn’t been a name for “T” yet, back home (Zimbabwe/south Africa) we have a fish called the Tiger fish. As the name suggests it’s a ferocious fish. I also happen to be a huge bass angler and I’ve had the fortune of catching plenty of both species. These mini Moby bass remind me very much of Tiger fish in terms of their aggression. I couldn’t believe my eyes when seeing them feeding in the bucket after undergoing transport and acclimation. Maybe one of them could be called Tiger?
Thanks again for all of your hard work in bringing this content forwards for us all.
