    Are there local water plants you can add to your pond? These will easily out compete the algae for nutrients and naturally aid you in your pond maintenance. The faster the plant grows, the better. They will also create places to hide and feed for your fish.

    Love the vids, just a small suggestion: A few years ago, when I lived in Ontario, I visted a pond similar to yours. As a proteine source for their bass, they vermicomposted their kitchen scraps. They used their compost for their trees and tomatos, but also used their worms to feed the fish from time to time. They mentioned that the worms reproduce really quickly and thrive in kitchen scraps. Maybe you could use it as an additional source of food for your bass too?
    Love your vids, nice and relaxing to watch.

    Glad to see you didn't remove the tree and its chlorophyll came back. That will be a beautiful row of trees someday. Some future date you'll need to put in some smaller vegetation around the pond to attract some bugs that would be a healthy addition to the fish dietary ecosystem.

    You may want to get an ICP test from a fish store. Those tests often cover a few other parameters and are meant for bodies of water with fish, I get one a year with my saltwater tank, it covers around 35 different factors.

    I followed this channel since early on and I am flat impressed with y’alls set up. It’s crazy how I feel some sort of sense of exclusivity. Like I’m in a secret club. 😂😂 But yeah I’ve been watching ever since that ultra aggressive little bass they caught (on rod and reel) and kept in that indoor fish tank. That little dude was straight bloodthirsty. He would smash anything y’all dropped and he didn’t waste time. I think it was Moby but if so, I’m surprised he’s only just now going in the backyard pond. The way he was eating, I figured he’d be a juicy little pickle, on his way to Hog status by now.

    • @lastlogicallib
      @lastlogicallib 11 месяцев назад +1

      Then, again, if y’all would have put Moby in the big pond already, he probably wouldn’t have any lips left, lol.

    It may not be a bad idea to stock the pond with 2500 of your prawns from a different shipment just to see how the handle your algea problem and also just how they'll handle the pond and how life in the pond will handle them. Just an experiment... dragonfly larvae do wonders on this stuff and I'msure you know what else they can help with. Everything looks great btw!

    This series has been pretty informative. I found your videos around the start of the build when I was researching pond builds. I am glad I found your videos, they helped me realize that I am not yet prepared enough to start mine yet. I wouldn't mind knowing an estimate of around how much you have invested in the pond and surrounding structures. However due to how much I would estimate it to be, I wouldn't expect you to make that public knowledge.

    I'm not a fisherman but wow, this is one of the coolest projects I have ever seen come to life. So the rain should be able to sustain the level of the pond? I am curious to see what types of wildlife shows up. Looks like the birds are already finding it but I wonder if any migrating birds will being to stop there over the next few years. I will continue to watch your series. very impressed. God bless you sir.

    Nice to see hen tubes in use. Little tip for the next time. Add roofing felt sheet before hay so it gives extra cover against sun and rain. Hope to see some action on those duck nests 🫡
