Exactly what I needed. I wish I'd seen this sooner as I bought a new door and am in the process of installing it now. However, this will be great for the future. Thanks for sharing your know-how.
Excellent video. Thank you! I removed a dead bolt lock from an apartment steel door and did the same repair you did, and it came out great! The Bondo product is available at auto parts stores or at big box stores. I would wear protective gloves when using/applying the product to protect your hands. Thanks again!
Thank you for taking the time to film and share this! I have a pocket door in our master bathroom and the handle broke and fell out of the door. So the three sides of the door where the handle sat is completely gone. It has been broken for 5 years. Been asking my husband to fix it but he keeps putting me off. Now I know how to fix it and can do it myself. Thanks!
Very nice work. So many people don’t even try to recreate texture and end up with terrible looking patch jobs. As we can see, it’s not hard to do the job well.
It was a good job. You really didn't have to do the door switch at the end though lol. It was pretty easy to tell the final product door wasn't the same one you patched.
@@DIYeasycrafts Really was. Been scratching my head for a while wondering how the best way to repair a hole in have in my door. Simple when you know how I guess. 👍
what if you still have the pieces attached. its more like, just pushed in. Are there any tricks to get the pieced flush again then use the bondo? Would you recommend I push the pieces through the rest of the way and create a hole?
Everybody here because they or somebody they love had a bad day. Thanks for the video. Isn't fiberglass toxic to sand? Need a respirator? Will standard mud with a mesh cover work like you patch sheet rock? I'm guessing not as well b/c it's wood... I've never worked with bondo before, hate stuff you have to mix because I'm never confident in the ratios.
@@DIYeasycrafts im talking about that design on a panel door that makes up the panels. My door does not a wood grain, its completely smooth other than it being a panel door
Thanks @DIYeasycrafts. Our door has similar color in your video, so could you let me know the paint you're using in your video. Having a link for that would be great. Thanks!
Why is the last pic shown of the door "after repainting the whole door" a completely different door? The trim on the left of the door had a run in the paint that wasnt there on the final door shown after the second coat. You can texture it properly, but using a sharp knife will stand out. Use a bamboo kabob stick to chase the grain. Something that wont cut, but will gouge.
I'm wondering if you can go back and add the description of the Bondo to reveal the product that you used. I would really like to do this to repair all of the doors in my house😂
Its called. Bondo Glass Short Strand Reinforced Fiberglass Filler. You can get it on amazon or at some Home Depots. Other products might also work. This is just what I used
The “second” coat of paint door is not even the same door as the one you started with. Check the wood grain lines to the right of the area at the start of the video vs the second coat of paint door. They are way different. Not the same door
No way your second coat of paint magically fixes the crooked texture pattern at the patch. You should been honest that it didnt come out perfectly coz you looking like a fool now
Do I need to paint the whole door if I get a paint match and just paint that area? Painting the whole door is a whole separate project and not easy for the average person 😂
I made a bad life choice last night, so now I get to take on this little DIY project.
This is exactly what I needed, damn kids put a hole in the door, buying some bondo resin in the morning. Super helpful.
Such a dad comment lol
I am the damn kid lol
Buy solid doors and replace them as they get broken. It's the best bet long term.
@@jameskirk3even if you’re renting?

This video was exactly what I was looking for! I feel confident that I can fix my similar situation now!
Great tutorial. Very clear detailed instructions, nice tone to listen to and great video angles.
Glad you enjoyed it
Good job sir...gotta love American industriousness!

So you really swapped out the door for a new one at the end or not? Cant believe you keep avoiding this question what a conman
Thank you. Very simple with high success rate.
You are welcome!
Nicely done sir!

Did you ever figure out how to fix it?
Lol
I'm wondering too.
me too
Amazing work sir
Thand you!!! You’ve saved me three doors
Awesome glad it worked out for you!

My whole is right there in the design of the panels. I wonder how to recreate that design if possible
Just watch the video

Doesnt matter because it seems like he cheated at the end
Thank you, very easy to understand.
Glad to hear that!

Wow good to know
What material did you use?
Thanks buddy. My dumbass threw a light elbow at the door 🚪. But, it still broke 🥴. This video helps make me a better fixer upper 😅🎉
Glad it helped
Lmao I hit my reflex bag at it flew at the closet door 🚪 I’m prolly gonna fix it soon
Nice thx

thanks @DIYeasycrafts Could you send a link to the condo product you used?
Bondo Fiberglass Resin Jelly, 00432, 1 Quart
I threw my phone at my door from rage, but anyway I got a small hole like that so this is perfect 😂
What type of white paint did you use?
Will it be fixed by the time my mum comes back home
Nope!!
Hahaha like magic!
What kinda of bondo did he use!?
Bondo fiberglass
What did you fill the door with? Thanks
Bondo you get at home Depot

I got it from home depot. Use the one with fiberglass fibers its much stronger

Can I use wood filler?
No I would not

Bondo fiberglass

Yes he’s avoiding answering that question after being called out multiple times. What a conman
What’s the name of the tool you are using to sand it?
Looks like a DeWalt orbital sander
👍🏽👏🏽
Who els punched there door 😭😭😭
Guilty as charged. However this door is bloody paper thin and I really barely touched it…
All the angry wives looked up this video
lol shutup....youre right. but we have reasons
I'm trying to fix my door fast before my parents see it 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Good luck!!
That was so fake in the end that was a completely different door. The paint on the wall was a different color.
I agree completely different door you can see from the square panel on each door grains go in different way
But I think the filling job is still good
Scam ending , what a fake RUclipsr, ugh 😮🙄🙄🤨
Even so the repair was still very effective. Probably as close to new as you can get with that kind of damage.
@joet7136 how you know. It was a completely different door. If it was close to new. He would of shown the same repair
I ran to the comments looking to see who noticed!!! Lol
The wall is a different color and the panels on the door you fixed are bigger then The other door lol
lol that’s not the same door
It’s amazing what a couple coats of paint will do.
Even if it wasn't fake it's a complete waste of time and money.
Too much work, just put a piece of wall taping over, plaster and sand, paint for the finish.
I was worried that plaster over tape would not hold up but whatever works! Video just shows how I did the repair
No way your second coat of paint magically fixes the crooked texture pattern at the patch. You should been honest that it didnt come out perfectly coz you looking like a fool now
You are absolutely right. I fixed mult doors in the same room. I took video and photos of each. Should have showed the same finished door. Sorry!!
@@DIYeasycrafts No worries, its an excellent educational video otherwise 😃😃
Amatuer hour.
Buy a new door
😂 that’s not even the same door at the end. The wall is a different color and the door trim is completely different. Nice try buddy 😂
That looks terrible
The paint changed on wall
Do I have to paint my wall to or jist film another door 🤔😂😂😂👍🏼

He doesn’t know because he obviously cheated and showed us the wrong door at the end.
Thank you
