- How to make a strong and very cheap wire hose clamp. Make them any size small or large. You can make them in stainless steel or ordinary steel depending on your choice of material. Very simple

I JUST MADE ONE - with a RATCHET WRENCH for easy of twist and instead of using a washer I used a wider cabinet door hinge with an enlarged drilled hole in the middle and left the 2 small holes on the sides to hold the wire in tension. Thanks Jola76. You just helped me solve a hose leak issue without having to spend a penny.

Nice job. Simple, easy to use, cost is very low, quick to make. A Clamptite will cost you $130, this tool about (from your junkbox $0), if you buy the items, maybe $2. Keep $128 in your pocket.

but there is only one when it comes to simplicity and price. If I can brag some:)
I agree this is the one I like the best. I can't recall a time when I didn't have the materials needs to make this on hand.
I wonder if a wing nut could be used instead so you don't need the wrench.

My arthritis fingers says no not this one
if you ever do that again put a reversible ratcheting ring spanner on the nut before you twist the wire on. It will make the process dramatically faster !

You could use a butterfly nut then you don´t need the 10mm wrench. But the tension will not be as powerful as using a wrench

I have not tested. But i think a M6 butterfly nut will go free between the wires so you can use your fingers.

Very clever, but hose clamps are dirt cheap, and a lot faster.
A lot faster yes. But way more expensive in sweden anyway.

🤔hmm, actually the hose clamps will never achieve the tight grip as the wire clamp made by this and similar tools. The design of this tool is functional, easy to use and damn cheap. Another advantage - you can use it on any size of hose

Too fiddly, the whole point of having a tool for the job is so you don't need other tools.
Yes the real tool is faster as I wrote. But you pay for it.
