Forget the revenue, maybe an outreach program that is in their face every day of the year. It could build some trust with the people down there as well as those that live in the community. I wouldn’t put any bikes , Police equipment, canoes, or anything else in that area a lot of people think the best use would be a concession stand serving cold drinks and limited on the food maybe fresh flowers for the tourist , Beautiful and hand strong leis. Maybe we can use on the outside of the walls To protect from the thieves a better locking system heavy duty walls for the exterior and a camera for security because we all know it’s right next to the police area and then we keep them on the ball and the area safe as well. As far as a The Home less population there are plenty abandoned buildings that could be renovated and accommodated temporary while they’re going to therapy and helping them find a job and creating careers Like a vocational school to help them become more self-sufficient and to prosper in the community versus being a menace and looking down at them a lot of them have a lot of potential they just need help

homelessness is so sad and so gross. The hard truth is no amount of money or affordable housing or help can't sway a person that chooses that lifestyle and drugs. if these supposed solutions worked we would have solved this issue a long, long time ago. It will get worse and democrats will continue to blame everyone and everything but the homeless themselves. Its no surprise as accountability and common sense is also in short supply these days, esp in a blue state. I say fight this issue aggressively, increase police force to patrol these areas and go after these that made this choice and continue to live this way. A plague or an infestation needs to be dealt with otherwise it'll just get worse and worse. If you can't help yourself then we or the government can't help you. It's that simple. Send them to prison where they can get three hots and a cot and most importantly a bath/shower. Still expensive but it is cheaper in the long run than providing programs and building houses they will just turn down or destroy and turn into another eye sore of Hawai'i. If you don't believe this then look at california's homeless problem.

Every administration knows exactly what the problem is, homeless on every island, but the truth is this Some do know how to handle the problem but the homeless are protected in some way or another, Yes we know that some of the homeless are from other States, why don't we send them back they were sent here on purpose they were homeless in another state but yet why don't we send them back !?
But that would not solve the problem, the problem is that the local people can't buy homes, the housing market is too high, the rental market is too high. More local people each year are leaving this state, and the truth is this, Hawaii wants to become a high expense state, To put it another way, it wants to be a state for the elites, wealthy, rich this is a true fact.
This state only wants to have "2 types of people" rich and poor no middle class, the poor will work for the rich.

We have more than enough here in California. We're trying hard to get rid of the governor we have because he's spending hundreds of millions on homelessness by buying them apartments, cars, drugs, and free food and medical while our seniors and low income families are losing their homes, insurance, and food because they can afford them anymore. He currently has a $1500 stimulus check plan for people who make $50,000-$250,000 a year to help them with the rising cost of everything. But not a dime for those on social security or disability.

Well what do people expect when they price out the locals who cannot afford to live on their homeland. Remember, this is occupied land, this was land of the Hawaiians....not the land of USA and Europeans.....white man came.....yup we seen the result in most lands where white man came. We have no consideration for the land itself nor its native culture, oftentimes they are the worst hit, not exclusively but most of the time. We do not live in a community where the first thing we say is ' how can we help those people get their self respect back and quit drugs'....no we look for the worst ways, 'get them out of here, put them in prison bla bla bla...' we have no concept of humanity, compassion nor love and respect, as we would not be in this situation to start with. I would say if USA stopped the occupation of this land, and all westerners left, balance would restore itself. I am westerner myself but I see the impact we have had on this planet and it aint great. Compassion and understanding and dealing with the problem at its core, first then we will get results. More humanity, less machine world and roboit 'repeaters', parrot people with no mind of their own who just follow after what media says or who just repeats what others say and in so doing creates myths, lies basically, just to not have to take any action, or care. It is sad but can easily be remedied but not with force. These people have had everything forced down their neck already.
