Thanks Lindsay for the tutorial. Much appreciated for us beginner fly tyres. I have got to grips with a number of techniques watching the videos. Nice to see the whip finishing tool isn't giving you any more problems. I swear I lost 10 good hooks to my tool before picking it up.
Hi Dean, don’t be fooled that whip finisher gets thrown across the room at least once a week. 😉 Really pleased that the videos are helping with your tying, makes all the effort worthwhile.
Tied 3 variants of the black Mamba, first time tying this type of fly, first fly to try the next day at Draycote and landed a fin perfect beautiful 4lb rainbow, had 5 others before 1pm. Great tying tips, easy to follow, nice clear information. Thanks again.
And here am I thinking that fishing and flytying are stress free pursuits. The fish here only understand Doric so unsure the name is critical to outfoxing them. Hope you're well soon.
Excellent as normal these videos are helping me with fly tying not the best at it but learning alot,do you sell your flies, thanks for the excellent videos
Hi Sean, many thanks I only do the odd charity box for the British Legion. I simply don't have the time and would not want to farm the tying out abroad. I can recommend a couple of tiers that do amazing work that tie flies to order if you like.
@@lindsayiflyfish thanks for that lindsay i like the look of your flies and some that i dont dare try and tie my self as i have very limited tying skills
It was tied on a barbed double will see if I can find one and do a quick tutorial. It was one of those flies that were in vogue about 20 years ago. I still have them in my boxes.
100%a humongous booby Gareth of uk flyfisher ties the original and still the best black mamba You give a shout out of other variants on your channel, would have been nice to have done the same here with Gareth
Hi Lindsay, all your talking about films made me think that this fly should be in “ Slumdog Millionaire “ with all the kite flying in that film, are you allowed to fly kites at Rutland, go get them boy. Cheers Jimf
Hi I Enjoyed that makes a nice change to see a big one 🤔 can I give a shout out for another fly tier for big ones. "Disabled Fly Tyler" he is paralysed from the chest down from a resent accident he has now taught himself how the tie with very little use of his hand. However his determination, skill and meticulous attention to detail is truly inspirational. Hopefully you can take a look and maybe like subscribe, comment to encourage this brave and skillful young man. PS his last fly baby bass would make a fantastic Pike pattern and his crab pattern is just something else. I am hooked excuse the pun cheer!
The original is tied by Gareth at ukflyfisher. Would of be nice if you would of given him a shout out in this video as you do with other variants you tie on this channel. Although the fly you've tied looks like a humongous boobie.
Nice fly. Unfortunately, not a black mamba at all and you had my hopes up. Ukflyfisher ties the black mamba and is very well known for it due to the amount of fish it produces. Not here to cause trouble, but a different name would be less misleading.
Just had a quick look online there seems to be a few flies called the Black Mamba, including snakes and articulated streamers. Really sorry if it has mislead anyone that was definitely not my intention.
Deary me what a carry on because you called it a black mamba your entitled to call it whatever he wants & all his toys getting thrown out his cot about it 🐟🎣🤔😁😁

That is fantastic glad it did a turn for you Richard.

Thanks pal.
I, like Dean & many other beginners, excellent demonstration! Thank you kind sir.
You are very welcome
Very nice I'll have to tie this one. The more the flash the better.
Looks amazing in the water Mark.
Perfect marriage of humongous and woolly worm. Deep fry feeding brownies will hammer it
They sure do👍
Cracking pattern, especially for winter. Must be a tenner of materials in it 🤣😉
Oh yes!
Cracking fly how did it fair up at Rutland Lindsay 🐟🎣🤔🙂
Plenty of interest but no fish on that particular trip. Might be better early Sept.
Thanks for sharing Lindsay let us know how you get on with it I think it will be interesting
Sure thing! I have high hopes ;-)

@@seanallan3042 The trick is to tie flies you will use to fish yourself. Keep practicing the basics and the rest will come pal.
Nice fly looking to try it out myself, by the way what is the vise you use.
Thanks buddy, Its the Jan Tvrdek Harmonic, sadly no longer made.
Could you do a tutorial for the aforementioned Pearson sparkler? I can't find it anywhere? Thank you!

@@lindsayiflyfish great thanks, be good to see some of the older flies as of course they will still work just out of fashion.
Very nice streamer Lindsay, whatever it’s name is 😄.......Thank you!!! 👍🎣👍
Thanks Kevin.

I think I am best just calling it a black booby. ;-)

No problem. Alot of people are waiting for Gareth to do a video on the fly so I got rather excited. Nice pattern all the same.
Nice looking fly Lindsay . Black mamba variant or not lol . Its defo one for the lure box .
@@GarethWilson2k9 do you have a photograph of the fly, I am sure if I see it I can tie it.
