That was exactly the movie he was thinking of when he said other movies have had similar endings! That movie scared me so bad! Jason took me to see it when I was a teenager and I couldn't sleep for a week!
tshirt game always on point! Will want a nice hardcover of Dangerous Visions to match my set. Thanks for the movie previews!!!!! Looking forward to the Claw Vid
OOh neat! I am actually going to enter the Ellison book release into my phone calendar. I've never used it before. I hope I remember wtf I was talking about in October. Thanks for the update!
I need to see the VLA the next time through New Mexico. Didn’t know Zelazny lived in New Mexico. So many southwest SF writers. How fun is it to have a signed copy. Great find!
Not sure why Ellison kept procrastinating & putting the deadline back - & held onto the Final DV for so long. Maybe Ellison couldn't make his mind up because better stories kept cropping up - or maybe he kept changing his mind about what sort of comments he should give each story - Ellison was infamous for writing intros & afterwords which were as long as the the stories.... Anyway, virtually all of the Best SF of the Year anthologies edited by Gardner Dozois, were comparable (thematically) to the DV anthologies IMO, so there was plenty of alternative stuff out there that was worth reading - & I'll include two huge bumper horror anthologies in that group as well - for those like me who like to go back & forth between SF & horror : Dark Forces edited by Kirby McCauley, & New Terrors edited by Ramsey Campbell - I have the original omnibus volume of New Terrors (close to 700 pages) but it was also split into two volumes because of it's massive length.
Good grief, I still have the original pb copies of DV and ADV from my mis-spent youth. This is exciting!
Oh yea, the way Jason interpreted The Lathe of Heaven made me think of Jacob's Ladder.

Holy crap man, you need to watch The Lighthouse immediately, it's one of the best. It's Lovecraftian horror.
I'm on it! I love the director and I'm sure I'll love the film as well!
This is my new favorite channel. So many great recommendations.
Thank you so much!

You'll love it! It is always a fun visit.
I doubt any of those movies will play anywhere near me. The last time I enjoyed a werewolf movie was Dog Soldiers.
7:30 "The Beast Within" was a horror flick in 1982. I wonder if this is a remake?
Ooh good question!
Fred Saberhagen lived in Albuquerque from 1975 until his death in 2007. It's on his wikipedia page.
Thanks!
Horror movie. I'm surprised you didn't mention "Longlegs."
I think I mentioned that one in an earlier update

this is incredible news - sorry we had to kill ellison to get it j/k 😂🎉
I love lovesbuckets too.
TLDV. OK. Noting the release date and would not be shocked if there was a traditional delay.
Order in advance and tempt fate! Thriftbooks has it for $21.54 (beats $26.03 from Bezos)
