Illidan went to Outland and overthrew the demon lord ruler with the help of the naga and Blood Elves. He then started training new Demon Hunters who were the first of the Illidari. This took place in game during the Burning Crusade expansion

Jaina is clearly one of the most powerful mortal being for years in warcraft. Kind of young and peacemaker in warcraft 3, but went boss mode since early wow (she was actually a faction boss at wow release). Considered the most powerful mage of all time, with Azshara.

Jaina had a lot of story since Warcraft 3. The simplest highlights is that she was a peacemaker even when her father came to fight the Horde and take her back home, she wasn't going to go back home or help him fight the horde since she had friends in the Horde and believed in peace. But then her own city, Theramore, was wiped out by the Horde using the equivalent of a nuke and she survived when her friends and dependents died and she almost went mad going for revenge. She was the leader of the Kirin Tor (Dalaran, the city of mages) and caused a lot of problems between the Horde and the Alliance when the factions needed to come together to fight the Legion. During BFA she showed that she had continued improving in magic all along and did plenty of badass magic either to help or fight depending on which side you were on. I think her strength was hidden a lot because she often played the ally and of course in game your allies don't do much for you because the players have to do the fighting :)

I'm sure someone has explained it already in the comments, but the whole thing with gul'dan and illidan is this. Illidan was an anti-hero back in warcraft 3 and instead of imprisoning him again Malfurion chose to let him go to outland in exile. Gul'dan from our original timeline is dead at this point. Illidan began working towards fighting the legion by any means. (burning crusade) The portal opens again after so many years and the players find the remains of draenor (outlands). The players see illidan effectively siphoning the resources of outland, (but don't know why). The players run into the son of Grommash hellscream, (Garrosh hellscream) he becomes important later. The original occupant of the black temple where we fight illidan Akkama helps us infiltrate the temple to kill illidan under the belief illidan would never return the temple to him as he promised. We fight through Illidan's forces and kill him with the help of his original jailor Maiev. Illidan being part demon has an immortal body so he can't truly killed except in the twisting nether. Because of this Maiev took his body to the vault of the wardens. Fast forward to the end of mists of pandaria, Garrosh with the help of a bronze dragon (bronze dragons are the guardians of time) linked the dark portal in current time to another timeline before the orcs drank the blood of mannaroth and stops them from drinking the blood (he is the orc that said times change). This leads to the start of Warlords of Draenor where the iron horde had captured gul'dan and was using him and some other warlocks to fuel the dark portal from their side. The players decide to close the portal on draenor's side by freeing gul'dan. By the end of Warlords guldan has his demon fueled horde and is opening the portal to our side. In a desperate attempt to fulfill the legion's plans gul'dan summons Archimonde (the giant demon from warcraft 3) in this timeline to stop the players. Just before Archimonde dies he flings gul'dan through the portal to our timeline. This starts the events of legion, gul'dan finds illidan's body in the vault of wardens and plans to use it to bring a part of the burning legions creator though to fulfill the legion's goal. This leads to the events in the nighthold raid where we faceoff against guldan and as we knock him out the body of illidan becomes possessed by sargeras (the creator of the burning legion). Once we expel him from illidan's body we reunited the soul of illidan and resurrect him. Gul'dan wakes up only for Illidan to kill him. That is a more compressed version of what happened with those two. It wasn't a retelling or a retconning. I hoped I covered all the important bits and that you enjoyed.

Sylvanas was working with someone at the point of Battle for Azeroth. I'm not going to tell more because you find out in Shadowlands how that plays out. At the time of burning Teldressil (the home of the Night Elves), she has gained a lot of power somehow, that purple smoke was new starting at the end of Legion. And there's a quest that takes the Alliance characters into Darnassas to try to rescue the people in the tree. It's heart wrenching. There are some good catch up videos that Athelearius is putting out here on RUclips. There are a lot of big cinematics by each expansion that will tell you the story of that expansion. Go back and find the "all the cinematics of Warlords of Draenor" and "all the cinematics of Legion", "all the cinematics of Battle for Azeroth", "all the cinematics of Shadowlands" and the "Dragonflight." Now's a good time to catch up.

Muurad is Draenai and his people hid on Draenor from the burning legion. They were found and the demons used the Orcs to fight and destroy them by having the Orcs drink demon blood which caused them to have a blood rage. The Draenai fled from Draenor and in a ship and landed on Azeroth. The guy in these videos is Varian Wrynn the leader of the Alliance. He was a boy during the first war when the Orcs first invaded.

There are many races on Draenor. The Draenei are the ones who named the planet but it was also home to the Ogres and Orcs among others. During the First War the Ogres were part of the Horde and came through the Dark Portal with the fel-crazed Orcs which is how they ultimately ended up being on Azeroth as well.
