My pTrumpet HyTech is a silver one. For what it is, its sound is very good. However, there is one rather serious problem with mine. The 3rd valve tuning slide is not airtight. It has a slight lateral (sideways) movement when the slide is extended out. Therefore, when you play the D & Db/C# just below the stave with the slide moved out to lower the sharpness of those notes, they sound as if one of the 'spit key's is open. Therefore, I don't use it, and just lower the pitch of those notes with my embouchure.
Also to be noted. The 'spit keys' are the wrong way around.

yeah I do the same with the 3rd valve slide, I pitch down myself for low notes, albeit mine doesn't move laterally. No spit valve probs also. Thanks for watching :)

I play drums. piano, bass, and guitar and recently got into jazz. I'm average at all the instruments I just listed, and am looking to be average at trumpet as well 😂, looking for something to not break the bank, and I think this is it. Plus, I expect to be below average for quite a while, so at least it will look cool hanging up in the meantime
