I know that I will be considered as an heretic and as shch sentenced to be burnt at a musicologic stake. Neverthelesss, if the version for soloists is the best way to taste this contrapuctical handicarft,, an orchestral version with a small string group is quite convenient provided thet the conductor keeps aware of the instrumental balance and does not thicken its structure. In such a case, we have to be careful with the baroque word "part". Basically, it adresses a contrapuctal writing. It can mean ""a soloist instrument", but this is by noways mandatory: We have examples of the two sotuations? The same applies dor instance to Bach orchestral suite for the same instruments. Conversely, it is not mandatory to perform the famous Corelli's op. 6 with a string orchestra in the "ripieno"? We g have the some evidences of the opposite figure.
