I cried so hard, and it made me realize what i have missed, and how I wasn't grateful for those moments now that Iv'e lost them. thank you for this video.
I have lived in USA for a decade, also for few months in Ireland plus travelled across Europe/Mexico/South America. Chandigarh I visited during one of my yearly visits to India, I liked it but I was on high peaks in USA. Idea of moving back didn't exist. But all the excitement Burnt out and I started feeling alone. I had achieved everything materialistic I wanted to achieve and I was in mindless cycle of over work (Finance Tech is demanding, well paying sector), fortnightly flying to college town to meet "friends", every six months to Mexico to meet "strangers", owned the dream car although could not drive due to clogged roads, life seemed perfect but appeared I was stuck. Plus I had a network of friends and relatives back home that i missed and missed more as the materialism faded away. I prepared to move back and chose Chandigarh. Has all facilities and a calm place to be. The people I meet are more emotionally involved although strangers don't smile at me as used to happen in US.
Chandigarh is the only big city in india with 0 flyovers because of the perfect roads and planned infrastructure... Most of the shopping you can do within you sector so no need to go outside your sector unless you have to go school, job, collage or any other work that's why traffic is very less
@@vivekdubey5378 Its population density is low. Therefore less traffic When traffic will increase in future , flyovers will be needed. Also there are so many intersections and round-abouts which are mood killer on those roads

Not outskirts of city like maloya, dhanas etc. Inside sectors, i havent seen any slums. Thats the truth. Maloya, dhanas as far as i think does not come under designated sectors of chandigarh though theyre counted as one.
That's a really wierd looking city, i thought it was big place but all i've been seeing are avenues with trees everywhere. Excepts some nice houses hidden here and there. Is there like a core centrer to the place with tall building and market and such. ?

Chandigarh is a common capital of Haryana and Punjab, but there is only presence of Haryana roadways buses and CTU buses, punjab roadways is totally absent
Brother they have separate bus stands. You must have been to the sector 17 bus stand, thats the place where you would see Haryana Roadways. Punjab runs its busses from Sector-43 Bus Stand thats in the southern end of the city.

Is it just me, or are other Indian cities are just not as good as this one? Or other cities (pre-independence) are just not as modernized as this one? (Sorry, kinda bad English, I’m a HKer living in the US).
other cities are old cities like founded 1000 or more years ago, now overpopulated. This city was a planned city built from scratch used as an administrative capital for two states so residents are white collar working class. India went into socialism and could not develop new such cities and redevelop older ones due to ailing economy. Post 1990s economy showed some tangible growth as market opened up and liberalized. Now only we are planning to redevelop the city but simultaneously challenge is 200 million poor people who crowd these cities, unless we pull them out, they would squat everywhere, throw garbage and there is no use of planning such cities. Some cities like Lucknow, Indore, Ahmedabad which aren't as big as Delhi/Mumbai have developed areas which are as good or better than this but still a long way to go.

Zirakpur and Mohali have skyscrapers.

Needs more police to enfore the law more skyscrapers and company to build jobs/economy. It also needs 4 lanes wide freeway connecting to other cities and more resturants serving beef chicken etc and more night life. Once all of that its the best place on earth

Chandigarh is not a city ...it's like a wealthy colony of elites . There is no vibe of a city except tress and nice roads . You won't feel like you are in a city .

After the partition of India, Punjab needed a new capital. So Chandigarh came into existence and was built on some 50 Punjabi Pwadhi speaking villages. It’s the first planned city of Independent India.

Is it just me, or are other Indian cities are just not as good as this one? Or other cities (pre-independence) are just not as modernized as this one? (Sorry, kinda bad English, I’m a HKer living in the US).
other cities are old cities like founded 1000 or more years ago, now overpopulated. This city was a planned city built from scratch used as an administrative capital for two states so residents are white collar working class. India went into socialism and could not develop new such cities and redevelop older ones due to ailing economy. Post 1990s economy showed some tangible growth as market opened up and liberalized. Now only we are planning to redevelop the city but simultaneously challenge is 200 million poor people who crowd these cities, unless we pull them out, they would squat everywhere, throw garbage and there is no use of planning such cities. Some cities like Lucknow, Indore, Ahmedabad which aren't as big as Delhi/Mumbai have developed areas which are as good or better than this but still a long way to go.
