    Setting missing values with syntax in SPSS is super easy. Something like
    MISSING VALUES Q1 TO Q5 (6,7).
    usually does the job. However,
    -how do you know which values to set as missing?
    -why can't you set 2 ranges of missing values and what's a workaround for this?
    -how to remove values altogether and why is this a bad idea?
