Then, I found a video on RUclips on how to tell if your Good Smile Sonic is a bootleg. To my disappointment, mine matched the criteria. I now do a crapton of research before I buy any Japanese figures. Lesson learned
Nio and Marlene Young Ebay is to sketchy. It's like a gamble. It's either real or fake. Amazon is much better for figures as Amazon will let people put pictures of what they get in reviews.

Hi guys, I imported this nendoroid from amazon japan, it's a real one, a couple of changes in the last edition to take note, the box is not the same anymore, now it says " Made in Phillipines " maybe they've changed their production base because of the covid or maybe it has nothing to do with it and they just opened a new facility ? Also when you open the box, on the "wings" ( don't know the name of those thin lids ) there is a campaign ad of the official website with a QR code to scan, it says " Show us your nendoroid collection to win a new nendoroid" something like that, too bad it lasted until april 2020 though. Definitely I recommend this nendoroid, it really work well with the classic Sonic design, I'm less fond with the humanoid one, in fact I only buy the nendoroid where the design is the same of the original charachter, like this one or Kirby, I also precommended Shin-chan which looks totally awesome.
I swear i have an official nendroid fig, but it was packed different and had no accessories apart from the ring and emerald, two hands, and the stand (i got it in California, and had the American packaging)

i got a bootleg nendoroid sonic without the box but with the transparent plastic thing at the age of 10 at my bday (8/22/2019), and i saw a video of "How to tell your Sonic Nendoroid is a fake". 3/2? years later, my dad bought the real one on amazon as a later gift (he arrived at 8/25/2022) and its expensive in canada (250 in canadian dollars), i was so happy. Mines is kinda a mix, Yes Sonic inside face is white but his back hole is blue, he has the right spikes and isn't glossy but he can't stand up straight without wobbling slightly, basically the real one that just can't stand.....guess thats what I get for getting a release at game stop.
