- One of the main complaints regarding TOMY's Sonic The Hedgehog figures has always been their low level of articulation. While articulated figures aren't for everyone, there is a market for highly articulation Sonic figures, and barely any have come out over the years. Here's a new one! Based on Sonic's classic design, this guy comes with alternate faces, hands, and even accessories and a base! One of the best Sonic figures to come out in a long time, let's talk about it!

Classic Ultimate Tails would be awesome! Maybe he could have an Emerald Hill or Chemical Plant Zone base, and come with accessories like one of the animals (probably Flicky) or an item/power up box.

Great video! I got this figure a few days back and it's easily my favorite sonic figure I've ever owned! I didn't even know it came with so many accessories until I took out the base and I was blown away! I really hope Tomy continues this line!

As much as I love this, imagine if they did the same but for the Adventure-styled Sonic. I'd buy that in a heartbeat!
That'd be incredible. They could even do swappable parts for the upgrades you get too (shoes, wrists, etc). Well that's now something I really want to happen but know will never.

The quality control is AMAZING on this figure I got mine a few days back and it had NO paint errors whatsoever. Thanks for this wonderful review of it! This will remain my favorite sonic figure to date (unless a modern Sonic comes out)

Irony is a weapon i'd say this is better
The only Nendoroid Sonic currently available is the "EZ Nendoroid" edition, which lacks almost all of the accessories but still costs $30 or so. Comparing this to that release, this is absolutely a much better buy. The original Sonic Nendoroid vs. this is a more fair fight though.
Although, due to the complete Sonic Nendoroid also being at a higher price point, this figure would still win, at least in my opinion.

Finally! An actual review of this new sonic figure. When I saw the 2018 tomy catalog for sonic, I was already pretty content with the selection they gave us, but when I saw this figure that will come out in March, I was absolutely hyped. A figure that has ultimate articulation, multiple accessories, and a reusable box?! I AM SO GETTING THAT! It is surprising how this company went from to cheap play figures to high quality display figures that rival that of the figma and SHfiguarts figures. I truly do praise Tomy for their efforts. I really do want an Amy figure in this scale. I knew it was finally time for you to review this. Thank you PatMac.

It’s really cool the ultimate classic sonic figure is released. I was lucky enough obtain it in GameStop. 😁still the figure is the amazing sonic figures ever made comparing many other ones.
FINALLY YOU MADE A REVIEW ON THIS I just got mine when it first came out and I’m just having fun playing with it think of this figure like the nendroid sonic but they concentrate more on expression pieces than accessories and it’s kinda sad that we only got only 2 accessories like the chilly dog and ring but I’m ok with that I hope in the future we get more characters like tails,knuckles and maybe mighty and Ray to celebrate sonic plus mania PLEASE MAKE IT HAPPEN TOMY

Was there something exclusive in the Jazware Sonic and Shadow at 0:16 ? Maybe it was just a US thing but the ones I have don't have that Toys R Us Sticker.

In the US, the first release of wave 1 and 2 Jazwares 3" figures were TRU exclusive, so they have that sticker. Later releases and most likely every release in the UK were released everywhere. And thanks!

I feel like I've failed as a sonic fan, and a toy enthusiast, by not knowing this exists. Oh my goodness, I'm picking this up as soon as I can, and shoving all my Jazwares toys off of my shelf. I hope we get a lot more of these. Tails, Amy, Metal Sonic, Knuckles, and Eggman, as well as their modern counterparts.

So glad I ordered this way back then! Jakks just did something similar and while their’s is still a nice figure, it doesn’t even compare to this one. Tomy really outdid themselves with it.
I absolutely love this figure. The expressions, rings, *the chili dog...* and the articulation all make this one good figure! You ARE able to hide the articulation points, you just have to know what method to use to hide them. Tomy basically used one and made it work! To quote (part of) an after-credits scene from the Sonic movie:
"He's here. I found him! I just hope I'm not too late."

not exactly it is scaled differently and super posers never came with accessories and didn't include the base or alternate faces and hands the stomach cut is done differently and super posers are posable in the hands and head spikes I am not sure if it would look good displaying this guy and say the modern sonic super poser but it might work ok
I could only imagine what they have in store for Tails, Knuckles or Metal. Think of the possibilities! Great review, and I'll consider to pick him up one day!

6 years later and this figure is still the greatest Sonic figure ever made. There's a reason it's going for well over $100 secondhand now, cause EVERYONE wants it because of how good it is.
I think the only QC issue I've ever seen with these guys were a handful with wonky eye prints where they weren't entirely centered, and that's it. Mad impressive for only $30 MSRP at the time.

I got it and when I got home, well all I can say is I don't think I've had so much fun with a figure since my mp10 optimus prime. Dude! So glad you got one of these and made a video! I Don't really collect figures, but I had to get this one. My only complaint is for a "collector's edition" figure the paint job is a little shoddy but I'm totally not complaining because what you get is every bit worth the price. The defects on my figure are a tiny pink speck on one of the eye pieces and a spot of dark paint from inside the mouth on the lip of the mouth open face. I'd be careful with the legs because the joints on mine are already somewhat loose, making it difficult to do mid air poses.

It’s kinda funny how in 2018, we expected more ultimate figures from Tomy and no more figures from nendoroid since the last figure was years ago. In 2024, Tomy isn’t making sonic figures anymore and we’re getting three nendoroids in the span of two years.

Sadly, for my Sonic, The squinted eyes have a little black paint streak on the left of it. Luckily, I don't use that face a lot, but when I do, that paint streak bothers me alot.

Yeah! That's the UFO Catcher Adventure Chao plush, he's shown up a few times in my videos now.
Oh. I thought that it was the new Tomy Chao Plush which is supposed to come out this month, March, but that makes sense that's it's the UFO Chao Plush since I haven't seen any of the new Tomy Sonic Plushes anywhere.
